Brought my car in for a tune up. $1100 later my car is running worse than before. I brought it back to them on 4 different occasions with different persons test driving it with me, telling me that it was ok now. It's not. The garage manager said he borrowed a machine from another shop to test it out and would take a picture of the readings and show me??? He never did. Then his mmanager tried to tell me that the rpm's are within normal range after a 4 minute warmup it is still running at 1200. I spent a great deal of money on Ubers going back and forth! On my final visit with them they tried to sell me a battery!!!! Can you believe it? I got out of there as quickly as possible. Because I'm elderly, they tried to convince me that this car I've had for 12 years, repairing all its needs on time, is fine. Its still not fine and now I have to find a reputable mechanic to fix it. read more

We had to buy a new car battery coming home from a short vacation on a long holiday weekend (the hotel staff had to jumpstart our car just for us to be able to leave and drive home). After purchasing it at the auto parts store off the highway, we realized that we did not have the equipment to actually change out the battery ourselves. (Duh!) In a panic, we searched for any auto repair shops nearby that were actually open on a Sunday, and walked into Montvale Auto Care without an appointment. Not only did the mechanic stop everything to replace our battery in the freezing cold (which took a long time because our import car's screws and lugnuts were impossible to remove), he charged an incredibly fair price given the circumstances, and the fact that he could've basically asked for almost any amount and we would've gladly paid, since we were in such a bind. We don't live very close to this business, so will not likely be bringing our car back for regular service. I'd never used this auto repair place before, so I was a little nervous. But my fears vanished after talking to Maurice. He thought the problem could be the starter, but he wanted to check a few things first. Thank goodness he did! The problem was not the starter, but some wires that had been gnawed. I live in the western part of the state. I needed to get my value stems replaced on two tires and my Air conditioner. First did a google search yelp gave Montvale auto care with 5 stars. I stopped at the repair shop I was staying in a hotel near byand I spoke to one of the mechanics he was very helpful told me to bring my car in the next day.I returned the next day dropped off the car. The following day I picked up my car and the Air Conditioner was not working spoke to one of the mechanics he came over to the car,he said it was working. He wanted to return my money I said no. I will bring it back in the morning and you can find the leak. They found the condenser leaking,theyreplaced and recharged the Air conditioner. They did a GREAT job!!The car has never been as cold since they repaired the A/C. I generally do not do this but now two weeks later I still have ice cold A/C. THANK YOU!! Had a very slow tire leak that needed air about once a month. I decided to have the leak attended to while getting an oil change. Montvale Auto Care was recommendation by a neighbor. I stopped by to make an appointment, but they were able to take me right away and in no time the car was in the air. Using the old soap bubble method they found a small finishing nail in my tire. Had I taken it to one of the discount tire centers I would not have been surprised if they wanted to sell me four new tires! Good job, Montvale Auto Care. It's the BP station near the I-93/Montvale Ave interchange. Had a nice cup of Keurig coffee while I waited, just like at the Mercedes dealer!
