Missing tire air cap on all four tires
    Catrina D.

I need to take my own advice when I write these reviews! I went to the express service for an oil change. I know my reviews before weren't great with them but they are the closest to me so I came back out of convenience. Their oil change service also increased by $10 totaling to $72.05. Never again. They never bothered to replace my tire air caps when they took them off for the 360 inspection. They also will not take accountability that they failed to put them back on all four tires. So now I have to pay to replace them rather than the mechanics do the job correctly in the first place or at least admitting their mistake. Terrible terrible place to service your vehicle.

They people at Pleasant car care were so nice and helpful, they immediately fit me in and got my car looked at and assessed. They found several of the same things as the other shop but they were not charging their extreme prices. They created videos showing what work needed to be done and why, they had loaner cars available for me and even offered to drive me home while they worked on it. I noticed after I got the car the next day that there was a small vibration and they immediately came and got the car from my house, checked it out, and realigned the wheels at no additional cost. I will definitely be going back for all of my future car needs and highly recommend them.

When I went there, they took pictures and video of my control arms and brakes and rotors and used scare tactics to tell me that I cannot drive this car as it is a safety issue. I met the owner, i have no idea why I needed to meet him. I had spoken with one of the floor mechanics who showed me a leak from my thermostat. They told me $1300 for brakes, $1700 for control arms, and $1000 for the thermostat... $4000! I drove home (even though they warned me not to), ordered the control arms, rotors, brakes, and thermostat and replaced them all myself. Here are the results: The car has 60,000 miles. The control arms look used like a car with 60k miles should, but they were not anywhere near an imminent failure. Same for the brakes and rotors. The only issue that was important for me was to replace was the thermostat housing... yes, the one that I had taken the initiative to ask the floor mechanic, and the front desk didn't even tell me about! Now, I knew what they were talking about. But I can clearly see how someone who didn't know much about cars would be terrified into hiring them for repairs that really weren't needed. The videos, etc, are all part of the credibility and selling process. Speaking of which, I can tell you that these guys use what's called a "one-call close" sales tactic. Just like at a dealership, these guys know that if a customer walks out the door, 90% of the time, they are not coming back. And, the salespeople are paid on almost 100% commission. That means that if they don't close a sale, they don't eat. They are not interested in a relationship. On a Saturday morning, we went looking for a few mechanics which were recommended to us. To our surprise, they were all closed on Saturday, and we were told to come back on Monday. We couldn't wait until Monday, so what did we do? We did a Yelp search, of course! Yelp to the rescue!!! The #1 business to appear after our Yelp search was Tony's Auto Service....they have a 4.8 Star Rating! Come on now, an auto service establishment with such a high rating?!?! The New Yorker in us were very skeptical! But we were in a bind, and time was ticking away, so off to Tony's Auto Service we went....it was only 5 minutes away! Yay! So we get to Tony's, and we're told that they're very busy and they can't look at our car right away, as there were two customers ahead of us. They said to leave the car and to call back in 2 hrs. We very cautiously left the car, and went to walk around town and have breakfast. In exactly 2 hrs, Tony called us and said our car was ready! He said come back and we'll discuss what the problem with the car is. We braced ourselves for what it would cost to repair the car. We also braced ourselves for the possible song and dance about what the problem was. Well....imagine our surprise when Tony told us that the problem is NOT an emergency, and didn't need to be taken care of right away. He told us exactly what was wrong, how much the parts would cost, and how much it would cost to get fixed. He gave us the ok to drive back to NY, and advised us to see our own mechanic whenever we got home. What?!?! As out-of-towners, we're not going to get ripped off?!?! Not only did we NOT get ripped off, Tony said there is NO CHARGE for the diagnosics! Now THAT is definitely 5 Star worthy!! We appreciate Tony's honestly and kindness so much. What a nice surprise. There really are honest mechanics still around! Thanks so much! Needless to say, we highly recommend Tony's Auto Service and recommended it to our local relatives. Business cards were taken and handed out!
