Fabulous lunch option! Deluxe sushi $15.95
    John B.

First time here and the food is delightful! Just had the lunch special Deluxe and could not finish it all... Quality seafood (sockeye salmon, not that mushy farmed stuff) and generally all fresh and tasty. Family business with friendly and prompt service. I was a bit early and my order was on my table in less than 10 minutes. Easy access and free parking. What's there not to like!!

I can't imagine a world without Japanese food, seriously, I can't! One day, my husband brought home some take-out from some Japanese place in Langley,. No name, just a place across the street from Steve Nash... I told him "This is really good, where was this place again?" Anyhow, a week or two passed... Then again, my Japanese craving led us to the restaurant where the take-out originated from... MIRAKU! First off, based on it's location and not so visible sign, I would have never came to this place. Of course, since my Matthew had already tried it, he knew it right away. Again, based on location, I had already preconceived notions on how it was going to look on the inside. But to my pleasant surprise and amazement, this place was gorgeous inside. You would have never believed it looked like that from the outside. It's also much larger inside then I had assumed. Shame on me for making assumptions. The decor and layout was perfect down to the view of the sushi bar. The lighting was just as it should be for a Japanese restaurant and the cleanliness of Miraku was great too (what with me being a germ-a-phoebe) The service was excellent! Absolutely excellent! Melissa, our server, greeted us immediately with a smile and menus. I thought it was very thoughtful for her to give my 4-year old his own Transformers place mat, which by the way is his favorite! And even a workbook and crayons. I love it when restaurants do that! The great thing about Melissa is she didn't hover, she gave us ample amount of time to look over the menu before she took our order. The food came out in the perfect amount of time. Although I was super hungry on this particular day, I didn't mind the wait. I always figure, if you wait a little extra, the food is more fresh! Chef Paul prepared us some amazing dishes. The quality and attention to detail was definitely delivered in our order. The taste and presentation was far beyond what I would have imagined it would be, so we were more than happy and willing finish all of our food! The price was reasonable and expected for the quality of food and service we received, so we were not at all surprised by the bill. After the meal, we chatted with Paul and Melissa for a few minutes about their business and it was very nice talking to them. They were very personable and welcoming. We will most definitely be back here soon and just a warning for any other restaurants in the area, you've got some pretty tough competition here.... In my opinion... Thanks so much for the great experience Paul & Melissa! We look forward to seeing you soon! Maybe today?? ;D

I really wanted to love you but it was just OK. Im rarely in the Langley area, had to do some business here so I though why not try some of the foodie yelpers recommendations in the area. At firsts seems like our options were a bit limited. I've been craving sushi lately so I typed in "sushi" nearby... And Miraku came up. And yes I drove around in circles trying to find it, its tucked away in a little strip mall. I almost gave up but there is was, and it had just opened for lunch. Cute place, very modern Japanese restaurant. I was greeted by a young man who also was my server, I sat down and was given a menu. For lunch I tend to grab combos or specials. I ordered the lunch special combo C. Which included chicken teriyaki, several tempura, deep fried gyoza, dynamite roll and a miso soup. I know this is not "sushi" but it was a really good price at $9.95. The restaurant was empty, and my food still took about 20 minutes felt longer because I was the only one there. When I finally got my food it came in your typical bento box. Everything was hot. Dynamite roll was my favorite, the teriyaki was meh it had no flavor just chicken, bean sprouts, one piece of carrot and 2 piece of broccoli. The teriyaki sauce was so light all I could taste was bean sprouts. The tempura was also good but they only gave me about two tablespoon of sauce ): I guess you get what you pay for. Ok maybe I would have given Miraku 3.5 stars not 3 if I had the option. Over all it was ok, I think I might have to come back for dinner and have "real sushi." Some of the pictures look really good.

Sooo good! Super friendly and everything was fresh, delicious and priced fair! I'll definitely be back! My new favorite sushi spot in BC!

This place is so boss. Although I did leave feeling 6.734lbs heavier because of all the deep fry, it was hands down the best Americanized sushi roll I've had to date. 'Crazy Chicken Roll'. Had some sweet chili sauce over it along with some other mystery sauces. Also had some jalapeños in it or something. I love spicy, so this was right up my alley. I even loved how they cut each piece/roll in half which made it so much easier to eat. They also have a complimentary deep fried banana covered in pancake syrup and topped with a strawberry. I will be back.

Tenpura - seafood (slice of fish, seafood stuffed vegetable and vegetable(shiitake) 9 pieces of sushi Daily miso soup - clam Dessert - kinako and mitarashi dango Chawan mushi was great. I can taste fish based broth and egg custard was very silky and smooth. Decent amount of ingredients sush as shrimp, slice of fish , bean and shimeji mushroom. I wish they served it slightly cooler than too hot. Ankimo - Great item. Monkfish liver was rich and paired with scallop and shrimp so well. Sauce was just ok. Grilled black cod was another great item. Crispy and juicy, just perfectly done. Blue fine tuna was covered by salty marinated sauce which was great when wrapped with seaweed. Cooked egg was just ok Tenpura - Seafood stuffed vegetable was my favorite. Others were also decent. Highlight and stand out item was 9 pieces of sushi. Honmaguro(bluefine tuna) was good. Shari(sushi rice) was nicely seasoned with vinegar, very mild and which I liked it. Tuna was delicious. Sea breem(MADAI) was another good piece. Delicious. Aburi Toro was nicely seared. I wish this item could be a bit more softer and buttery, but it was still good. The restaurant has a cozy, no-frills interior with dark wood tables and a casual, welcoming atmosphere. It's not a place that tries to be trendy or upscale--instead, it focuses on doing one thing exceptionally well, and that's serving perfectly executed katsu. The space can get busy, which is always a good sign, but the service remains efficient and friendly without feeling rushed. I started with the Assorted Katsu, which is easily the best choice if you want to experience the full range of what they offer. The plate was generously portioned, featuring pork, chicken, fish, and shrimp katsu alongside rice, shredded cabbage salad, pickles, and dipping sauces. The standout here is the texture--the panko coating is incredibly crisp, light, and airy without feeling greasy. Each type of katsu had its own distinct character: the pork was juicy and rich, the chicken tender and moist, the fish delicate and flaky, and the shrimp firm with a satisfying bite. The tonkatsu sauce added a sweet and savory depth, while the creamy dressing complemented both the meat and the cabbage perfectly. I also tried the Kimchi Cheese Katsu Nabe, which was a completely different but equally enjoyable experience. Served bubbling in a hot stone bowl, it combined crispy katsu with a tangy, slightly spicy kimchi broth and a generous layer of melted cheese. The contrast of flavors was excellent--the kimchi brought brightness and heat, while the cheese added richness and balance. As the katsu soaked in the broth, the outer layer softened slightly but still retained enough texture, while the inside remained juicy. It's definitely a heavier dish, but incredibly comforting and satisfying. One element that really stood out was the cabbage salad. Finely shredded and topped with a light creamy dressing, it provided a refreshing crunch that balanced out the richness of the fried dishes. It might seem simple, but it plays an essential role in keeping the meal from feeling overwhelming. Paired with the warm rice, pickles, and soup, everything comes together as a well-rounded set rather than just a plate of fried food. Overall, this place delivers exactly what you want from a katsu restaurant: consistently crispy cutlets, generous portions, and thoughtful balance in every meal. While the interior is simple and it can get busy, the food more than makes up for it. I would absolutely recommend trying the Assorted Katsu for variety and the Kimchi Cheese Katsu Nabe if you're in the mood for something rich and bold. It's a spot I'll definitely be returning to.

The space is understandably understated especially during the Christmas season. Totally ok with the lack of the holiday. We were sat quickly, water dropped right away. It's larger than we thought with two separate areas which would be great if you had a large party. Knowing little about the experience we ordered the mixed Katsu experience and the cheese Katsu, understanding as we always do that we will share the food. The cheese Katsu said right on the menu one order per table, which now makes sense. Eating four pieces of it is just simply too much cheese, so plan on one half per person, hence the one per table. The mixed Katsu had, prawn, fish, chicken and pork portions which were very tasty and a good quantity. Both came with accompanying salad and rice which rounded out the meal. The salad was excellent and the rice was well cooked. We will be back for sure, hopefully with more folks so we can experiment more.
