We had seen the place on Yelp and planned to grab something quick to go, but it turned into a great stop. The location is fantastic and convenient near the airport. The hostess was welcoming right away and directed us to the bar so we could place a quick to-go order. At the bar, the bartender gave excellent service and convinced us to try a couple of tacos along with the yuca fries and plantains we originally planned to order--and I'm glad he did. The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable. We grabbed a Tamarindo agua fresca and bolitas de yuca for the road--light, flavorful, and perfect for the drive. Great food, great service, and a great find near the airport. For appetizers, we enjoyed the queso verde which was very green with roasted poblano, & corn. We chose to add short rib to it as well and it was quite tasty. They start you off with chips and three salsas: a creamy avocado salsa (the clear crowd favorite), a tomato-based one, and a classic traditional salsa. No weak links--every single one slapped. I ordered the mahi-mahi, and it was fine, but for the price, I expected a better overall experience. The part that really made me uncomfortable was when it was time to pay. Our waitress hovered over us the entire time with the card machine and didn't step away to let us review our receipts on our own. I know people are just doing their jobs, and I hate feeling mean saying this, but I genuinely felt pressured to leave a higher tip than I intended. They also add a 3% kitchen fee to the bill, which just added to the feeling that everything was expensive. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. This is a pretty solid happy hour spot. It runs M-F from 3 to 6, and when we went, it was surprisingly quiet, which honestly felt like a win. We ordered a couple of cocktails, and they brought out freshly fried chips with a trio of salsas on the house. Nothing like delicious free chips to set the tone for a good evening. We shared a few things from the happy hour menu. The green queso and guac were delicious and a great value. We also got two empanadas and two tacos. For a large group, you can't go wrong with the appetizer sampler. The camerones de Tito is like shrimp cocktail on a tostone. And I could probably eat about 100 of the yuca fritters. This is a spanking brand new restaurant in the Cypress Waters development. It's where Ascension coffee was if you've been a resident for sometime. Miriam was there when we visited around 11 AM just after opening on a Tuesday. The crowd started to bill so people are starting to realize that this is a quality cuisine in their neighborhood. Many workers around for lunch so I'm sure it could get busy probably wanna make reservations later on in the year. This place gets better now they have lots of servers on hand, hostess and full kitchen going. The menu was pretty creative and the combination specials are what I like so I didn't have to just try one dish. Thank you They did an excellent job with the renovation and made it very bright and modern inside the service from the kitchen was fast and efficient. There's a small but very nice bar and private dining room in the back which seems to be able to fit at least eight people I would highly recommend trying it out and I believe this will be one of the standards and Coppell Cypress Waters area for Latin cuisine And Tex-Mex style dishes. I definitely vote this over the other options within a couple of mile radius. The outdoor space has a lot of seating and is enclosed for poor weather with full hvac but the windows can open on excellent weather days. Enjoy! read more

Service: Our waiter was tentative, kind, and helpful. Food and drinks came in a very timely manner so 10/10. Meals : 7.5/10 I got the salmon tacos and my mom had tacos de carbon. My mother's tacos were flavorful! But the meat was tough and it was hard to get a bite. 7/10 My tacos were also good however the sauce that comes on them packs a lot of heat, and there was so much of the sauce I couldn't taste anything else I was eating. Great addition to The Sound and Coppell / Irving area! Having not been a fan of The Sound's rendition of Ascension Coffee, it's good to see it was replaced with something I'll definitely visit often! The interior atmosphere is nicely done, albeit a bit loud! The good news about that is it was very busy with lots of happy looking customers. The three salsas brought out with chips were all different but equally good. The waiter mentioned they had a fourth, spicier option for those that want it! Duo verde was a good choice. A bowl each of queso verde and guac. Liked the "4 Amigos" taco option giving the ability to try four different ones. Shrimp was top of my list followed by the pork belly... but all were tasty! They must knew we liked spice because they brought us a habanero salsa. Loved! We got salsa verde queso and yummmm and ofc loved the green color. So unique. Shared the chicken tacos with my son. Came with two tacos but honestly it was stuffed so I preferred it this way vs 3 with barely any filling. The beans and rice blew me away - I don't know but the flavor profile was great to me. While making the most of the spring weather decided to try a new spot at Cypress Waters. The area is perfect for outside dinning. You can make reservations on OpenTable so you can roll in like a rock star and not have to wait for a table and request the outside patio. The server was very attentive and helpful selecting the best items on the menu. I started with the La Fresca Margarita which was sweeter and avoided the typical margarita taste I'm not a fan of. We started with the quesadillas with chicken and they were really tasty. They were fantastic without the sauces and didn't need them. I recently had the best Mole enchiladas in Mexico so decided to give these a try. The mole sauce was very good and unique and if you love mole is a must try. For dessert we tried the Strawberry Tres Leche cake was good but not amazing. It is worth trying if you love Tres Leche but I'd try something differ next time i go. From the moment we walked in the place was absolutely gorgeous and decorated beautifully. The server was so attentive and made sure to answer all our questions. She checked up on us and kept our water's refilled. Now the food... absolutely delicious. I got the French toast and I left sooo satisfied. A great place for patio dining when the weather is nice! The restraint patio faces the water so you get a great view and you can see the stage where occasional entertainment is. There is complimentary chips and salsa, we had a guava margarita that was so good you could hardly taste the alcohol! The waiter was sweet and helpful.
