We need more local spots like Tacomex. I absolutely love grabbing breakfast here whenever I am in the area. The food is always of great quality, very affordable, and in a cool, Mexican-themed atmosphere. The staff is nice, but not overwhelming. You can tell they take great pride in the food they produce!

Have I found my new favorite taco place? Maybe. Do I feel guilty about cheating on Familia (another great spot just a couple doors down in the same strip mall)? Absolutely. We came here for breakfast right after my colonoscopy, so you KNOW I was HANGRY. I ordered two tacos, a pastor and the sleeper hit of the bean and cheese taco. That bean and cheese is now going on my regular rotation - It was almost like a mini quesadilla, all grilled and yummy! The horchata was divine and just the right amount of sweet and creamy. By 11:30 the place was getting busy, so if you want to beat the crowd, go earlier.

First time at this place. You order food at the counter, pay and you get your food at the table. Service was great and fast. I think the chips were complimentary, We ordered two of each tacos, chicken, beef and pork. I really enjoyed beef and pork, but chicken was dry. Overall it was good and would love to be back to try more, when i'm back in Texas.

We recently stopped by after visiting this place 5 years ago. They have moved into a bigger space. They still have delicious Mexican food. This not a fancy place but it is a great bargain for the flavor. We stopped by lunch and had Street Tacos and Sour Cream Enchiladas. We like the nicer places like Mexican Sugar and Lupe's Tortilla Factory but this is a great place to go to get quick Mexican food. The atmosphere is more of a whole in the wall, the service was prompt, and the food was delicious. We will definitely come again. Check this place out if you in the neighborhood.

I have never tried lunch at this place. Needed a quick option close to work! Stopped by and ordered Monterey Chicken with Corn Tortilla's They served complimentary chips and salsa. Entree was served in next 5 months. Chips were bit salty but salsa was good! Chicken was cooked to perfection, Red salsa was amazing. Has very good heat, I added to the tomatillo salsa that came along with chips and that took the test level. Corn tortilla were thin and did not hold well, but tasted good! Will try other options next time I visit.

Bought a chorizo burrito to go for dinner and it hit the spot. Price was reasonable as well. If you're local or in the area i'd recommend

Been a loyal customer of Via Real since the early 1990's…read more All of a sudden they decided to charge much more in taxes that I assume must partially be to offset what seemed like a nice "social hour" recently added. When we asked the manager about it, he didn't seem to know they changed this. 10/25/25 was 8.25% tax (including alcohol in the order). All recent bills were anywhere from 13% to 16.5% hidden in the "tax" line, not even itemized. I'm sure because they know most won't realize it. This may explain why on a Friday at 5pm (even with a social hour) the bar was empty except for one other couple. Not going to reduce the stars since I like many of the long-timers that work here, but whoever is running the show now should probably re-examine their decisions. #WWFD

The menu leans Mexican fusion, with standout seafood and steak options across the board. One of my personal favorites is their sea bass special with pineapple reduction. It's beautifully balanced sweet, savory, and rich without being heavy and comes with perfectly cooked charred vegetables on the side. The drinks are excellent, especially the margaritas, which definitely lean on the stronger side, fair warning that one drink can feel like two. Save room for dessert too; they offer a solid selection of cakes and sweets that are a great way to close out the meal. Service is attentive and warm, and they also have private group dining rooms available, making it a great option for corporate events or holiday parties. Valet parking is available, but there's also plenty of convenient parking right next to the restaurant. Overall, Via Real is a reliable, elevated dining experience that still feels welcoming and rooted in tradition, a Las Colinas classic for a reason.

My new favorite Tex Mex restaurant. Love the fajitas…read more It was my wife's and my first time here. Kayla gave us fantastic service. Ample seating with festive birthday. The manager also came and gave us free beef fajita samples since he found out it was our first time. The flavor and juiciness of the beef blew me away. My wife and I got queso to compliment the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa and bean dips. I was a big fan of the beans too, didn't think I would be. We ended up getting a trio (beef, chicken, shrimp) fajita 1/2 pound and it was perfect for the 2 of us. You can taste the grilled and charred flavor on the meats. The chicken and shrimp were slightly on the drier side but when combined with the sour cream, beans, guac, cheese, they were perfection. For the two people, the limitation ended up being more the toppings to the fajitas but it was just enough. At about $25 for 2, that was a steal. The queso was about $9. Right before we were about to leave, Kayla recommended the tres leches dessert and you know we had to try it. It was solid. Loved the cream on top. Definitely would come back again!

Living in Sioux Falls has many positives, but distinct and deeply flavorful Mexican cuisine is unfortunately still something that's a little harder to come by compared to places like Arizona or Texas. So, we made it a point to stop at Lupe Tortilla while passing through Irving. The first thing we noticed was how packed the restaurant was during lunch. People were pouring in steadily, and the atmosphere had that energetic local favorite feeling where you know people come because they genuinely enjoy the food. Thankfully, the meal itself delivered. Now, was it the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had? No. But it was still leagues beyond most of what we've experienced lately back home in South Dakota. The carne asada especially stood out. The portion was massive, tender, and packed with smoky, savory flavor. You could immediately tell it had actually spent some time on a grill instead of simply being rushed out of a kitchen. We also enjoyed the tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, all of which had that comforting Tex-Mex richness and seasoning that we've really missed. Unfortunately, we were on a fairly tight travel schedule and couldn't linger the way we would have liked. Honestly, this felt like the sort of place where you could easily sit awhile longer, enjoy another drink, sample more dishes, and just soak in the lively atmosphere. Still, even as a quick stop, it was a great experience and a delicious reminder of how much we miss the bold Mexican food culture of the Southwest.
