This was our third time here. The japche appetizer was VERY good. The soon-du-bue jigae and the spicy pork bulgogi were not as flavorful as last time but the owner came out and when he heard the bulgogi was not as good he went into the back and made a new dish for us and it was more flavorful. I'm really glad we have Korean food in Columbia and I hope they get the kinks ironed out with their menu bc I want them to do well and stay here :) read more

This is a great and very affordable spot! Their food is delicious, and they have amazing hotpots. I believe they do not do Koren BBQ anymore, but all their food is worth it. My favorite was their Tteobokki, but it is spicy! Service was great! The workers are very sweet and meet your every need. Would recommend! read more

We are so excited to have a Korean BBQ restaurant in Columbia. We ordered Meat Combo 1 and it was plenty of food for the 2 of us. They will cook the food for you. If you are a pro like me, you can let them know that you can cook it yourself lol Galbi was so good! Doenjang Jjigae and steamed egg were a perfect combination with the meal. Side dishes were great. Went for lunch here today for the first time with a group of 5 adults and 1 teen. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We ordered Option E, which is advertised as feeding 3-4 people, and that alone was $185. Two people ordered chicken teriyaki meals at $15 each, and we also ordered two appetizers. A few sodas, the rest water, no alcohol at all. Our total came to $340, still not quite sure how because the math isn't matching (which was shocking for lunch) especially considering they automatically add a 20% gratuity. The food itself was very fatty with a lot of bone, and portions did not justify the price. Service was mediocre at best -- nothing that explained the automatic gratuity or high cost but it was listed on receipt gratuity added for 6 or more. For the price point, we expected significantly better food quality, portions, and service. Unfortunately, this was not worth the money and we won't be returning. read more

My husband and I have been coming here since they opened and it's become one of our favorite spots. We've tried many dishes on the menu but I'll name a few: Chicken Katsu and Tonkatsu (I believe they list these as appetizers, but seriously, these could be served as a lunch meal on their own) Korean Fried Chicken, Dumplings, Stone Pot Bibimbap, Yaki Udon, Galbi Tang, Jjambbong (so good!), Seafood Hot Pot, Fried Rice (always fresh) and their amazing Seafood Pancake that's crispy on the outside and full of fresh seafood. Their Tangsuyug (sweet and sour pork) arrives crispy and hot, with a light, crunchy batter and a sweet, tangy, and never too heavy sauce. It's one of those dishes that disappears fast at our table. Their BBQ Combo E is a must if you're hungry and have a party of 3 or more. My husband and I have ordered combos knowing that we will take at least half home as left over for the following day. It comes with brisket, ribeye, pork belly, spicy pork, marinated short ribs, and more. Everything is well-seasoned and grilled just right, and the soybean soup and side dishes, like their kimchi, are always delicious (맛있는!) We've also had their sushi and sashimi a few times, super fresh and nicely presented. We usually order Korean beer and soju with our meal, and it's one of the first places we take friends and family when they come visit. The food is consistently great, the owner and staff are always responsive, friendly and kind, and we always leave happy. Highly recommend! I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap and Spicy Pork Bulgogi (split with my hubs and took half of it home) with some barley tea. The food was delish!! And almost felt like I was back in Houston getting food like I am used to in Htown!! The barley tea wasn't strong but still cozy and good. If you haven't been to Korean bbq you are in for a treat as you sit down and have delicious meat cook in front of you at your table. We went around 3pm and the restaurant was empty, as we were leaving more people were coming in which made us happy to see. The server mentioned that people come in, look at the menu then leave. Arrived for first time visit to this restaurant. I am a fan of Korean cuisine so I was hopeful for a good experience. Upon entering I noticed a sign which read; "Please Wait to Be Seated" the place was empty but for a single male patron who was actively engaging the sole waitress in conversation. When I was noticed I was told to just seat myself anywhere. She then returned to her conversation with the male customer. I sat unattended for almost 10 minutes while they pursued their conversation, I was almost ready to leave when she noticed my growing frustration and begrudgingly broke free with a promise to "be right back" to her conversation. She came to my table and asked me if I knew what I wanted, I placed my drink order with a promise to have made a decision when she returned with my drink. Obviously this upset her because it increased her time away from her paramour. When she returned with my drink I attempted to order a seafood soup which she said was too spicy for me and suggested I order something else. So I settled on ramen with shrimp and egg rolls. I should have just left. It won't happen again Food was okay but the server was terrible, perhaps if she'd focused on her profession as she did her romantic interest my experience would have gone differently? read more

To start off, I don't remember the last time I posted a bad review, or any review at that. But this experience really made me want to. Went there on a Friday night around 7pm last week. Was told it would be a 30 minute wait for two people, which was fine, although it was not very busy in there. I had been here two times before in the last year, and both times were amazing so I was fine with the wait. Stated off with kimchi pancake which was good. When we were finally able to order, we got three things off the grill entree, two beef options and a pork. The thinly sliced beef (chadolbaegi) came out pretty frozen, and it was a little difficult to cook thoroughly, but we managed. La galbi was decent. Spicy pork was pretty trash and not marinated enough. The portions for all of these were also crazy small, for how much they were charging for each of them. With that being said, we also got a bowl of rice each and then a total of 3 side dishes with this whole order. Two types of kimchi and some bean sprouts, which is pretty sad with how much money I was spending on the grill items. Never have I gone to a Korean restaurant and only received 3 side dishes. That is honestly unheard of at any Korean restaurant, especially with the amount of "entrees" I was getting. Last couple times I came here I didn't even order as much as I did this time, and was given more sides. Also ordered a soup that I never got. I thought maybe they were taking a while so didn't ask about it after I ordered it. Then around 9pm, the waitress told us that the kitchen is closing, with no mention about my soup (it wasn't charged so I just left it alone, but it would have been nice to be notified that I was not getting it). I probably should've said something about the piss poor amount of sides, but with how infrequently the waitress was coming to check on us, I didn't want to bother. Nothing against her, but she was the only waitress in the building, and she seemed like she was doing her best. But the Korean older guy in the back kept coming out and looking at me. Almost like he knew he was giving me shit service and food, and also seeing that I was Korean maybe made him want to "check" on me frequently. But never did he ask us how the food or service is, just kept coming out and looking at me like he was waiting for us to leave or something. Definitely was weird and I didn't appreciate that. The food didn't taste horrible, except for the pork, but with the amount of money and time I spent at that place with the food and service I got, I will not be coming back here or recommending it to anybody. Very disappointing because the other two times I came here it was amazing; I thought I had found my new favorite Korean spot and had been telling all my friends about it. After spending $170 and getting insulted with 3 side dishes, I won't be returning. read more

The food was incredible, my husband (is Korean) and I moved from LA about a year ago and were bummed on Spring Hill lacking in good authentic Korean food, it's a hike to the Nashville area. But THIS PLACE was so AMAZING. We even got extra for lunch tomorrow to bring with us to work. Definitely 12/10, Christine was so kind and helpful. We were pretty much the only ones there but it was closer to closing. It was very good! My husband and I both enjoyed it a lot. We ordered Yukaejang and seafood soon dubu. Both of which were very savory and tasty. If anyone is wondering how their spiciness scales, I would say it leans less spicy compared to average Korean restaurants in other metros. I ordered medium heat and felt it was mild. Now that I know, I will probably order hot from now on. We also ordered a hamul pajeon (seafood pancake) and it was crunchy and loaded with fillings. Very delicious! My first time at this restaurant, I shared a ramen hot pot with my husband and two children and my friends shared a seafood hot pot. It was incredibly delicious and there were tons of sides provided. The service was okay The food was amazing and it wasn't too busy and they keep the place very clean. This will be my go to asian restaurant from now on. This was our first time coming to Mirinae. We were very excited to go out and support a new small business, with high hopes. I did not come expecting perfect service, I actually came expecting much less. Unfortunately, Mirinae failed to deliver on multiple levels. When we first arrived, there was no welcome or hospitality. There was only one other group in the restaurant when we were seated, but our server was very flustered and insisting on how busy they were. We tried to be understanding. She left us with two menus and no other assistance and took our drink orders, which she mixed up. After closer inspection, I noticed my partner's glass was unwashed from the last use, with a lip mark on the rim. This was our first red flag. We decided to hold on hope, trying to have patience knowing that it was their third night open. It was atleast fifteen minutes before she returned and took our appetizer order, and then walked away before offering to take our entree order. She also did not ask for clarification on oh order of dumplings, assuming that we wanted the four count and that we wanted them fried. She came back shortly later to get our main courses. I ordered the spicy pork bulgogi and my partner ordered chicken fried rice. After about thirty minutes, she came out with my bulgogi. It was supposed to come with multiple sides, which were not provided. She also did not bring silverware or take our dirty plates. My partner asked for a water, hoping for a fresh glass, but she insisted that he gets another coke and refused to give him a water, reassuring that refills are free. We were slightly offended at the insinuation that we could not afford a $2 refill. She proceeded not to take the dirty glass, but bringing out a room temperature can of coke and leaving it at the table for him to open and pour into his own glass. Another waitress brought us a set of chopsticks upon request. I proceeded to eat, assuming my partner's food would be out shortly after. I assumed wrong. We waited 45 minutes for his fried rice before our waitress came out and told us that they had run out of rice entirely. I found this fascinating, due to the fact I had just seen a plate of rice come out of the kitchen and given to a couple who had gotten there and ordered significantly after us. We ordered another set of dumplings instead, quite frustrated at this point. The dumplings took another fifteen minutes to come out. He began to eat his dumplings when another waitress comes out and asks if we ordered the fried rice, with the fried rice in hand. This was baffling, considering what our previous waitress had said, At this point, we did not want it. We just wanted the check and to leave. The dirty plates from our appetizer and the empty coke can were still on the table at this point. We were left alone for another fifteen minutes before our waitress brought the check and asked if we wanted a box. We did not. She explained that she gave us twenty percent off of our bill, but still wanted to charge us for the dumplings. I was frustrated at this, because it was not our error, but the kitchen and the staff's. We were willing to pay it, but then who I presume to be the manager or owner came out and asked us what happened. We explained, and she took the bill and told us we did not have to pay whatsoever. This was very sweet and kind, and I was thankful that the manager was understanding, but that does not change the service we received. I am willing to go back and try it again, but not anytime soon. They need to get their operations in order and be prepared to serve customers in a professional and effective manner. This was truly a disappointing experience. read more
