At one point, he even prepared a full table setting--with water and food--for a reservation that hadn't yet arrived, while we continued to sit there unattended. After nearly 30 minutes of awkward waiting, we were finally given water. What made the situation more concerning was the clear difference in how we(Caucasian Americans) were treated compared to other customers. He was warm, kind, and engaging with others--particularly those who appeared to share his background--but would not acknowledge or engage with us at all. The atmosphere became so uncomfortable that I made the decision to leave for the sake of my daughters. As a father, it was clear they felt unwelcome, and that was not something I was willing to tolerate. I left without asking for a refund due to what seemed to be hostility. We've had many wonderful experiences at Asian restaurants, but our experience at Daylight Sushi was deeply disappointing. The crunchy garlic on both nigiri is definitely a plus for me. You can't go wrong with spicy tuna rice; I haven't had a bad one anywhere. I can certainly use more serrano on it for the extra kick.
