I'm a little bit late on this review but I'm sharing it anyway. Last weekend we were in Sarasota and had the MOST AMAZING Cuban food!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the minute you park your car you can feel the energy and authentic Cuban culture.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Alexandra was a great hostess/server. She was so attentive and friendly making you feel like you were part of the family! The most delicious relleno de papa!!! If you are ever in this area, this is a MUST!! We cannot wait to go back. 10/10

Had a Friday hankering for Cuban cuisine and Mirna's came to the forefront. This is authentic and very flavorful. In addition, they offered 2 for 1 sangria's or margaritas. I remembered the black bean soup which was both rich and filling; Just as good this time as well. Also, I opted for the arroz con polo which was delicious and substantial for under $15. My wife ordered the ropa vieja - shredded beef with rice, peppers and cilantro plus 2 sides. Both entrees were approved (2 thumbs up) and no room for dessert. This venue is becoming a required stop for us when the in season traffic diminishes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Private parking lot with indoor and outdoor dining options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Service was great, food was soooo soooo good. I loved the papa rellenas it was my favorite. It was a very welcoming place and you could tell the people coming in come back often. Great place and very kind and fun staff

We were in Sarasota to visit Ringling college and found Mirna'a on Yelp. We are so happy we did. It was some of the best Cuban food we have had and we live in south Florida. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was friendly and while we chose to eat inside, they also have a nice amount of outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter started with the chicken noodle soup. It was so good. Different from what she expected but she loved it. My MILA and I had the small Cuban sandwich. We probably could have shared it. It was till huge. Husband ordered the potato ball. It was amazing! My favorite ever. I ended with a cafe con leche to go. It could have been a little hotter but it was delicious and perfect. We can't wait to head to Sarasota again to make another visit.

Stopped in here after finding it on Yelp when looking for a quick place nearby the jungle adventures place after our visit there. As we pulled in, we noticed the crowd but they still were able to seat us immediately. We were really hungry and this hit the spot! The servings were massive; we both took home about half our entrees! Our server was terrific, friendly and informative.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Best service, great food, amazing location, this is the best place to get food in the Sarasota area by far.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am so glad to have tried Cuban food here because I cannot wait to go back! We came here with a large party, but the service was so quick to accommodate for 20 people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have both indoor and outdoor seating, making the place very spacious and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were also so kind, easy to talk to, and made our stay very welcoming. I wanted to try their most favorite item, so I got the Ropa Vieja. The food was delicious. Large portion sizes, but I finished it all---it was THAT good. It is oily though, which I did not expect, but the flavors were all strong and cohesive. I would love to come back and try more Cuban food!

This place is good good. My parents were excited to take us here, saying everything they've tried has been great and the portions leave nothing to be desired. We came hungry and this sounded right up our ally. I got the vaca frita and my husband got the ropa vieja. My brother got the palomilla. My parents' ultimate recommendation was the vaca frita, and while I absolutely loved my food I think they were right. I could not stop picking at my husband's meal, and he's been requesting that I try to make it ever since we had it. My brother's steak was also great. The portions are indeed generous. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We ate at the outdoor patio. The staff is friendly and helpful. Absolutely come check this place out, and try the ropa vieja!

This family run restaurant is fantastic. The service is excellent. The food is amazing and about as authentic as you can get this side of Havana. I had the Cuban sandwich. It was delicious. Full of ham, pork and cheese. Fresh Cuban bread presses and toasted just right. The black bean soup is so good. If Cuban food is your thing, then this is a must do.

12/10 recommend stopping by Mirna's! This little mom and pop restaurant has excellent Cuban food. Our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly. We only ordered one item but it was absolutely mouthwatering. The Masita de Puerco con Yuca Frita appetizer was a HUGE portion for the price. The meat was juicy and full of flavor. The people next to us ordered a Cubano and Skirt Steak and I was envious because both entrees looked amazing. We sat on the patio and had a wonderful time. 1000% will be going back to Mirna's to try more items on the menu next time I'm in Sarasota.

Stopped here before our show at the Van Wezel. They opened in a new space about 3 miles south of their old location. Big difference! Great air conditioning, outdoor dining and a lot more tables inside. Same great food in a much better atmosphere. Same great prices and quantity. Service was excellent even with all the extra tables.

We rolled in on a Saturday for an early dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty crowded inside, so we chose a seat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did partake in the BOGO sangria. Wasn't planning on alcohol, but who could resist? Our server was excellent at making recommendations. Hubby ordered the skirt steak, I ordered the pork. Both were bursting with flavor and there was enough on each plate for two whole meals. We both took about half home, and left the restaurant stuffed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a guitarist who performed that was excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What a great overall experience. This was our third time eating Mirna's, but first time at the new location. The food is consistently delicious.

The moment you enter, you are embraced by a cascade of twinkling fairy lights that shimmer like stardust against a twilight sky. Fresh flowers bloom in every corner, their sweet fragrance mingling with the comforting aroma of steeping tea and freshly baked cakes. The menu is a delightful symphony of flavors, with each dish crafted as if by fairy hands. The tea sandwiches are dainty yet satisfying, their ingredients so fresh they seem to have been gathered from a mystical garden just moments before. The salads are vibrant and bursting with life, each leaf and garnish adding to the overall tapestry of flavors. And, of course, the cakes! The cakes are tiny works of art, each bite a burst of sweetness that leaves you floating on clouds of pure bliss. Even the soups, served in charming little teacups, are more than just a meal--they are comfort and warmth, a gentle embrace on a slow afternoon. Each spoonful is like a chapter in a story you never want to end. In this enchanting restaurant, you don't just dine--you dream. Every moment here feels like a stolen piece of a fairy tale, and you'll find yourself lingering, not wanting to break the spell. Whether you come alone to sip tea and read by the soft glow of the fairy lights or with friends to share laughter over a tray of delicate sandwiches, you'll leave with your heart a little lighter and your spirit a little brighter. To say that the owner of this enchanting establishment is just as magical as the place she's created would be an understatement. Kathryn is the heart and soul of this fairy-tale haven, a living embodiment of the kindness and beauty that fills every corner of her restaurant. Her presence is like a gentle breeze, warm and soothing, making everyone who walks through the door feel instantly at home. Her generosity is evident not just in the thoughtful touches that make each visit special--like the fresh flowers that greet you at every table or the extra care taken to ensure each dish is perfect--but in the way she treats each guest like an old friend. There's a sweetness in her smile that makes you feel as though you've known her for years, and a gentle warmth in her words that wraps around you like a comforting blanket. She moves with a quiet grace, always attentive, yet never intrusive. Whether she's offering a kind word, making sure your tea is just right, or sharing a delightful story, she does so with a lightness that leaves you feeling cherished and cared for. It's clear that this restaurant is more than just a business to her--it's a labor of love, a place where she pours her heart into every detail. In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, the owner's presence is a reminder of the beauty of kindness and the power of a generous spirit. She has created not just a restaurant, but a sanctuary--a place where time slows down, and you can savor not just the food, but the warmth of human connection. To dine here is to be touched by her sweetness, and to leave with your heart a little fuller, your day a little brighter. Thank you, Kathryn, for creating such a beautiful safe haven for all who enter. As long as this establishment is standing, I will be there in attendance.

Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

Since I was nearby, I decided to try the Main Street location for breakfast. I paid for parking specifically because I planned to dine in. As a first-time customer at this location, I wasn't sure how the ordering process worked, so I placed my order at the counter. A staff member brought my breakfast to me cold in a plastic to-go container. I explained that I intended to eat there and had never asked for my meal to be packaged to go. Rather than simply correcting the mistake, he seemed annoyed that it needed to be heated. When my meal was returned, it was still served in the same plastic takeout container. They request a tip but the service was rude and disrespectful!! The food wasn't the issue--it was the customer service. I left feeling as though I was inconveniencing the staff for wanting to dine in. I never expect perfection, but I do expect to be treated courteously. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing and different from the service I've received at other C'est La Vie locations.
