Service was quick and easy ( considering I ordered to go ) ambiance seemed nice on the inside as well. Probably the best shrimp taco I've had thus far in Sarasota. I'd eat here again. (: 5 stars.

    Tostadas de camaron

Good local owned authentic Mexican restaurant. We came here a couple of times during our visit in Sarasota. We had their red and green enchiladas, mole, fajitas, and tostadas. Everything was great. We are from Texas and like to visit authentic Mexican since we have majority of texmex back home. This was definitely a great restaurant to stop by after a Long Beach day. It's right next door to subway. They normally close around 9pm during the week. Very laid-back atmosphere.

This review is for the food and not the service. The service was decent but I'm sure you won't care about my experience. You wish to know how the food came out. For me this was a 4.1. The pastor tacos were good but not write home quality. The guacamole was fresh but a bit salty. TBH I loved it but my wife did not. I would order it again. The fajitas were very good. My wife loved them which is rare! Just a note. What we really noticed was that everything freshly made. The chips came out warm and I can tell you they were made on site, likely because they were made by the corn tortillas which came out fresh on site too. That is a plus in my book!!! Now for the complaints which were minor, but had an effect on the rating. Their salsa wasn't hot at all. The waiter brought a spiced sauce bottle to the table to kick it up and suggested we add some. The bottle was good but obviously not fresh. There was a bit of a language issue, we got past it but it was there. To me this was a 4.2 but I would go back. After all with a little less salt on the guacamole and a different option for a taco this could have been an incredible meal!!! Thanks for reading.

Visiting from California I found a random Mexican restaurant near my hotel with notable good reviews on here. Located on Washington Ave in a small parking lot connected to subway and another business is this hole in the wall you might miss.. The first thing I do for any Mexican spot is buy tacos of every meat I'd be interested in to judge the flavor. It's easy to aim and miss by ordering your favorite meat and the business specializes in another meat that you'd enjoy even more. With that said, 3/4 passed with flying colors. The steak tacos cost more by 50 cents or so which I wouldn't mind but it was the only bland taco in my opinion. I wont take any points away for it, just don't bet the farm on it before committing to your order. The salsa Verde is good, add salt or pepper to anything you feel may be lacking and you're for certain to have a good meal. I had to ask, being from California if there were even any mexicans in town or was this a random Mexican restaurant. To my surprise I was told the majority of the Latin community in sarasota is actually Mexican and the tacos make me believe it.. lol this isn't a mexican place made by people of another ethnicity with their spin on it. If you're looking for some decent Mexican food in town, I'd recommend this place and possibly a few other joints. You won't be let down here.

It was my first time coming to this restaurant and it definitely won't be my last. The customer service by our lady waitress was more than outstanding. The environment was very clean. Lastly the food was so good! Would definitely recommend.

A new Hispanic style large group " hutch" style seating of light oak wood complete with festive Mexican fabric seat pillows has been added! And... the entrees and this time rice and beans were delicious- - " Como nuestra abuela lo hecho"! Like how our grandmother made. We first thought of going to nearby Grasshopper, but last minute I got cold feet and said," No, let's go for guaranteed GENUINE Mexican food-- a longer drive but well worth it! Three small table top bowls of excellent salsas and fresh onion relishes accompanied our delicious fajitas with shrimp chicken beef plus a wonderful fried fish dish. They are known for their seafood and ESP their Cerviche. Their selection of intriguing seafood dishes fills an entire page of their 6 page menu. This is genuine family style home made Mexican food not turista style. EVERYTHING written 8 months ago still holds! Enjoy!

Absolutely delicious. Food here was very fresh and authentic. The tacos were awesome and everything we had tasted great. Prices are very reasonable. Special taco deal on taco Tuesday. Check them out! Parking directly informs available in the small plaza. Location is not my favorite; but worth it for the food.

This place is the best authentic Mexican restaurant I have been to in the Sarasota area and that's not to say it lightly as I grew up in a predominantly Hispanic town near the Texas-Mexico border. Give this place a try if you're looking for true authentic Mexican dining.

We've been eating at La Brisa for years and despite having some of the best Mexican food in Sarasota it's never been that busy at the times we've gone. Tonight it was exceptionally slow. Unfortunately, they're at the point of being seriously concerned. The rent just went up (not sure how it's justified from looking at the run down strip mall they're in). Honestly it's not in a great location (sandwiched between a Subway and Metro T-Mobile just south of 12th St.), but their food and their service are outstanding. I'm a big fan of their chicken chimichanga and it's loaded with chicken ($12.99) and always enough for two meals. They also cater. On our way out this evening I put in my order for a dozen chicken tamales ($29.00) which I'll pick up on Sunday. I really want to share some love for this place. They deserve it. Give them a try. You'll be pleased. 1156 N. Washington Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34236 941-552-8868

Delicious, this is authentic Mexican cuisine. Staff is friendly, place is clean and well organized. Horchata water was perfect, not too sweet and not too milky. Waiter was super polite and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

The best menudo and horchata on a weekend morning. I brought my family here for breakfast before and we are once again pleased with the customer service and true authentic Mexican vibe. I recommend La Brisa for breakfast, lunch snd dinner. They serve homemade tortillas too.

Food was alright, not very good tacos, soggy, microwaved. the entire thing was hot in a way that is obvious when it is microwaved, but whatever, 4 tacos and a drink 17$. Too expensive for mediocre tacos, won't be going back.

The ice cream itself is fantastic--creative flavors, but also genuinely delicious. You can taste the homemade quality in every bite. I had coconut and dark chocolate, the kids had vanilla, dark chocolate, and watermelon mint, and my husband also really enjoyed his choices (though I can't remember exactly what he picked).
