Even as a Miro fan and customer I am confused by all the changes here in the last 6 months. Even the Yelp is confused as reviews for Miro Cafe or previously Miro Kaimuki are listed here for Miro The Counter. Two different locations but now the Miro Cafe "Kaimuki" is closed. My last visit I found I booked the Counter, but confused went to the Waialeale location CLOSED. So I walked to the other location for a similar but different experience. Unfortunately, all these changes haven't been good. The Counter is much more expensive, less inviting and rather sterile. Wishing the crew and Chef C best in sorting out this brand and confusion. I'll miss my monthly visits to Miro Cafe Kaimuki.

Excellent service and all of the courses had extremely strong flavor. Highly recommend adding on the additional brioche to the course. The portions may look small but all pair well together and was quite full at the end of it with complimentary in-house gummies and dessert.

Fantastic meal, everything we got was so delicious! The staff made us feel so welcomed and helped us enjoy your anniversary with a hand written note to welcome us! Loved the ambiance of the intimate restaurant! I believe their menu rotates, but when we went the menu was more Mediterranean leaning and we enjoyed a variety of dips on the mezze platter and their lamb dish!

Being a fan of this restaurants prix fixe, we were excited to try the à la carte menu. That way you get exactly what you want. We were seated right away, but it was kind of loud. I think it's where we were sitting, but still a surprise given the cozy vibe. Food was solid, but we were slightly disappointed with the caviar as it was explained that it was going to be like an egg salad Sammie. But it was just the caviar on a toast. Perhaps the server wasn't really sure how to explain it, but since caviar are essentially eggs, I guess it was a non traditional egg salad. We had finished almost finished our starters by the time I got my wine so that was disappointing. It was packed and it didn't seem like there was enough servers, but certain tables got extra attention. Like they didn't wait long for food or drinks. We ordered everything all at once but had to reorder the dessert because the server forgot to put in it. I wanted to end with some tea, but the server forgot. Overall, the food is solid, but the service leaves something to be desired.

The sourdough alone is worth the trip--easily one of the best I've had, and the brioche bites with tuna, uni, and caviar were a standout across the board. Service was really good, the wine pairing was a nice touch, and the location is easy to get to with parking. We'll definitely be back. Not a pretentious spot, the inside of the restaurant was nice and chill - easy to have a conversation.

Food and service was top notch! The vibe is a notch below fine dining - casual bougie? I came here to celebrate my birthday. There was a set menu and I chose the wine pairings. There is also a cocktail pairing option. The food itself was delicious but tasted so different with the right wine pairing. My fave dish was the kingfish paired with the sauv b. The menu changes every month I believe so I would love to come back and try something new.

Visited Miro Kaimuki on my last trip to Honolulu with hopes of having a memorable dinner to finish off my trip and it delivered! Went for the normal tasting menu and thought that the dishes were very unique and comparable to cuisine at a one Michelin star level. Service was excellent and the staff did a good job of keeping us excited for the next dish coming. Would recommend for anyone visiting Honolulu! Parking was a little difficult and you are permitted to park behind the building but it is limited. Would recommend coming a little bit early to find street parking to make it stress free.

All courses were exceptional, loved my meal here. Everything was thoughtfully done and the flavors were great. I especially liked the salmon course this month. It had a bit of crunch and tang. I am also still thinking about the dessert we had, so delicious fruity and creamy. The fish was cooked extremely well with the outside crisp and inside tender. Loved the steak as well with the Parmesan sauce. This is a great place to celebrate your special occasion. I felt very taken care of and love how they give you complimentary bubbles and macarons for your special moment. I was quite satisfied with my meal and thought it was an ample amount to be full. Service was amazing and helpful. They made sure we were okay with everything and made us feel very welcome. Ambience was modern, dark, and intimate. Nothing but good things about this place. Would highly recommend Miro Kaimuki!

Such a cozy night with good vibes. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The food leans toward Asian fusion with more of a fine dining twist. Really fun and creative dishes. What brought me in was the brioche toast with uni--it totally lived up to the hype. Honestly, the photo doesn't do it justice; it tastes even better than it looks. The drinks? Next level. If you're feeling a little bougie and just want to have a good time, this is the spot. The atmosphere was super chill--we had our own little corner, which made it feel even more intimate. Our server (who was also our bartender) was amazing. She gave us great food recs and actually took the time to chat a bit, which made the experience feel personal without being too much. I really love the vibe here. No one's judging, and the dress code is super casual--it's not that serious. Just show up, enjoy, and have a great time.

The food is really good! Each course was very delicate and well made. Came here 30 mins early but still managed to get seated right away. Ahi brioche is one of our favorites The service however could be slightly better.

TL;DR Fantastic through and through. Well deserving of the hype. ----- My wife and I were finally able to dine at Miro for a Friday date night for their March 2025 prix fixe menu. Please note there is a parking lot behind the building that is available for customers to use. If there are no stalls available, there should be street parking in the neighborhood. In addition to the prix fixe menu, we ordered the cocktail pairing, the ahi and uni brioche add-ons, and the sourdough bread special. While I'm glad we tried the cocktail pairing, I probably wouldn't order it again. Of the five cocktails, my wife and I only really loved a couple of them. I'm not particularly snobby about pairing food and drinks, so next time I will just order directly from the cocktail menu or perhaps try the wine pairing. The food, on the other hand, was spectacular. I was impressed with each dish, and I was particularly blown away by the brussels sprouts and the dessert. The brioche add-ons, which are the only regular offerings, are an absolute must-order. We didn't order the caviar one, but if I had to choose only one, I would recommend the uni brioche. The uni's texture and flavor perfectly compliment the brioche. The brioche itself is mind-blowing. Seriously one of the very best bread dishes I've ever had. I would order a side of just the brioche if I could. The menu changes monthly, so there's no point in making recommendations or identifying specific dishes. However, based on this particular menu, I have no problem highly recommending Miro. My wife and I will definitely be back to try another monthly menu.

Is it possible to add some brioche to the brunch menu?

Haven't been there for brunch but we've always added their signature bread to our prix fixe dinners

How long do you think a typical dinner lasts at Miro? Trying to plan our evening in town and want to know how much time to set aside. Thank you!

    Budget 2.5 hours

    Is it kid friendly?

It's not for children. It is a calm restaurant for adults.

What's the service charge when I book online? 20% of the total. Is this automatic gratuity?

No. You pay what you want.

What gluten/dairy free options do you have?

Can I eat at Bar? If I can take a food, Is this a a la carte?

Yes the bar is a great place to eat. The bartender and service help are amazing. You can ala carte your food if you prefer but the pre fix menu is the perfect meal in addition to the yummy and delicious brioche. It's a must!

How much is the add on for the caviar and ahi brioche?

They don't talk about price for the add ons, which is a bummer. Last time we checked is $14 for ahi brioche, and $58 for caviar brioche.

    Do they take walk ins?

You can call ahead and see if anyones cancelled their reservations, that would be the only way

Do they no longer have the brunch menu?

correct. they discontinued brunch, but may bring it back next year

This casual dress OK?Like shorts shirt

    Smart Casual.

    Can they accommodate gluten free?

    Yes.

    Do they have vegetarian option?

    Yes.

Are they open? I tried to call and left voice messages with the phone number and I also emailed them but no one has been responded.

Yes still open. You could use a booking app to make reservations, or go to miro's website and you can reserve your table.

Today we ordered family style, which they happily accommodated for us. They served the rice on the side. Our menu included short rib bao and shiitake bao (vegan), ume tomato, namul, spicy miso eggplant, crispy pork belly, menchi katsu, and mushroom jook. The standouts were the crispy pork belly with its watercress tomato onion salad, the ume tomato on whipped tofu, and spicy miso eggplant. The mushroom jook is so comforting, hearty and full of flavor served with chicken confit and a soy egg. The two desserts offered are both winners. The mochi churro with kinako and anglaise is crispy, light and creamy. The pineapple orange pudding is so cool and refreshing. And, 100% of dessert sales go to the culinary team! What?! We were there for about two hours and only saw around three other parties, so the whole place just felt really quiet and empty. The one bright spot was the service. There was only one server working, and he was incredibly nice, friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We got the set menu. We started with the hamachi crudo, which was good. The beet dish was really pretty, but I thought it was a little bland and didn't have much flavor. They also had their own take on a baked potato with sour cream and chives, which was actually really yummy. The shrimp/prawn dish with the butter sauce was probably my favorite dish of the night. The bao was okay, and unfortunately, the chicken adobo was extremely salty. It was also basically a huge piece of chicken with adobo sauce, so it wasn't really my favorite. We were really excited to try the rabbit butter mochi because we'd heard so much about it. It was super cute and definitely one of the most unique presentations, but unfortunately, it tasted like soap. We wondered if maybe the mold had been washed right before serving because there was a very strong dish soap-like taste to it. LOL. Obviously, things happen, but it was especially disappointing because I really wanted to enjoy the butter mochi. Also, the tap water was honestly some of the worst restaurant water I've ever had. It tasted very strongly like a pipe or metal. I even asked for lemon wedges, but it still tasted the same. I never complain about water, but this was genuinely difficult to drink.

We ordered a bunch of stuff but most notable was the Ensalada Salad, Croquette Cordero, Taco Raisu, Karaage Pollo, and for dessert, the Piña Borracha. We ordered some pork and steak skewers. These were ok, I would skip these next time. A little burnt. My favorite was the Ensalada Salad. The crab was sweet and the salsa opaca was so refreshing with the apple foam. Was told to smash the crisp on top and combine it with everything and that took it to another level! So good that we ordered another one. The price of this was so affordable too! The Croquette Cordero was like a mini curry ball with chimuchirri sauce. A little heavy but if you love curry, this is for you! The Taco Raisu surprised us. The taco meat was so flavorful!! East meets West here, with a slightly spicy ma po tofu made with crimini mushrooms, which had a pleasant meatiness. The biscuits were excellent , but the watercress salad could have had more contrasting flavor.
