This place is like no other as it reminds me a mini mall but for dentist specialties. I went for a cleaning and x-rays. My appointment was around 7:30am and I was down out in 50 minutes which is not too bad. I wish I knew about the mini-arcade that they have in there, but then again I would be occupied and not want to have my appointment nor head to work. The only downside is they do make you fill out a lot of paperwork and it is on your phone which sometimes it makes it hard to fill out. I wish they have an option to send it through email and fill it on the computer as doing it over the phone can be tricky. Xrays was not too bad, they have this machine that does a 360 xray which was fun, they do the other x-rays which where they stick the film in your mouth and take a snapshot. It is not too bad, but that takes around 20 minutes. Then, they did my teeth cleaning which took around 15 minutes. I spent the other 10 minutes waiting to get my teeth clean and then 5 minutes for the dentist to come in and check out the teeth. Overall, I do not mind coming here for my future visit. Staff was nice and friendly and patient.

I have always been extremely nervous about going to the dentist. People laugh when I tell them I used to need "gas" just to get my teeth cleaned. I have now "graduated" from that and no longer need gas and some procedures I can get thru without it!! From the front desk staff to the dentist, the entire staff is great!! Don't put off taking care of your teeth because of fear!! Call them up, go in and talk to them, explain to them exactly what your fears and needs are. I promise you, you will not be sorry. They have the most up to date equipment and procedures available --- and they also offer a dental insurance plan, and accept Care Credit credit card. I am sure they take other credit cards, and probably actual cash! Whatever, do not be "afraid " of going to the dentist. They will put you at ease, no matter what your needs are. I have my own customized plan that works for me --- I know I need more than two cleanings a year for myself. So I started going quarterly, now I go three times a year. It works for me!! So much better for me --- and my teeth! Dr. Dyer and Dr. Kolath have both worked on my teeth -- either of them I would recommend --- as well as any other dentist they have working there -- because sometimes the two of them are so busy, that third dentist is the only one available, don't worry, they dentist is just as competent. Usually it is a recently graduated dentist, so you know they are up to date on the latest and greatest in the dental field. I just had an appointment yesterday -- had a crown that was ??? years old, it came off, they put it back on temporarily on Tuesday, with the understanding that as soon as they could get me in, I would need a new crown (it had a hole in it and was beginning to break apart) and at the same time I needed a new filling in another tooth. Got me in on Thursday - I was there from 1:30 till around 4:15 and they replaced my original crown, and determined that a crown would be my best bet for the other tooth (because of the amount of decay under and around the filling). So in that short time, Dr.Dyer and his assistant were able to get both permanent crowns made and on my teeth! And I was on my way! How many other dentists can do that? Oh, and not all that time was spent in the dental chair ---- for about an hour while my crowns were being made - I was in the massage chair!! Another great feature at this office - for when you have a longer procedure. My family (out of state) could not believe I was getting a chair massage while I was waiting for my crowns. They were amazed that I could get permanent crowns in one visit. I know why Dr. Dyer has been voted best dentist in Mesquite for years. I highly recommend this practice. I just hope no one has any plans for retirement or moving away from this practice! I don't want to move or drive farther to continue seeing them.

When we found Dr. Shaw I was excited by all the glorious reviews, blown away by the gorgeous facility and nice office staff! We met Dr. Shaw on our first appointment to go over how he would take over finishing out her treatment and after that we never saw him. Flash forward to the day my 8 year old is getting off her braces and is so very excited because not only is she getting them off but her birthday is the very next day! As a parent I was so very excited for this special day only to be let down because it was not a priority on Dr. Shaw agenda. We arrive and my daughter starts to have her braces taken off by Britney, during this time my daughter starts to state it hurts and then even has tears rolling down her cheeks! Britney not only seemed annoyed but tried to tell my daughter she isn't doing anything that hurts her and she is hurting her feelings by crying (Like are you serious you as an adult just said that to a child) Britney continues to work on my daughter and of course my daughter starts to cry again to where I finally had to tell her to stop and something is wrong because my daughter doesn't just cry and over react! Britney got up said nothing to us left us sitting in the chair with no explanation for 10 minutes, while other patients were seen and went and talked to Dr Shaw! Then Dr Shaw comes over to see what is going on to find one of my daughters tooth is loose and the pulling the braces And wire off was causing pain to the newly loose tooth. He was gentle and said he wouldn't clean the remainder or the glue on that tooth because it's going to come out anyways to spare Her any pain. Afterwards he said she is good to go, gave her a popcorn bucket full of candy and that was it! No sooner does he do that I immediately have another woman asking me to sign paperwork of release when I am just trying to capture a picture of this moment! My daughter gets told she can sign the wall and then that's it...no pictures no big Celebration or congratulations nothing, it was very disappointing for her and for me! When I walk to the front I ask Chandra (who has always been sweet every appointment we have seen her) if they take pictures with those that get their phase 1 braces off and she said no, that's for phase 2! I left feeling disappointed and hurt for my daughter who was in tears on a day she should be so excited! Only to see on social media that Dr Shaw does take photos with phase 1 patients who get their braces off but clearly we weren't important enough! Sad because up until that day a new family to Texas had referred those we knew and worked with to him and promoted his business via social media, but not anymore! Every patient should be important and picture worthy and no one who works with kids should make them feel bad when they cry...Britney maybe was having a bad day I don't know, but her words and treatment were horrendous to a 8 year old child! I wanted to love Shaw orthodontics and for a couple months did, until the day that was to be special and mattered was ruined! I realize my opinion and review is a minority but my experience to my child and myself did happen and I am not afraid to speak up!

I found this place on Yelp and looked at the website and found their chat feature. I was able to sign up really quickly and then after you sign up, they make you fill out paper work which took around 10 to 15 minutes if I can recall. I did not realize this place was actually near my house like walking distance if I really wanted to and in that plaza where the Golden Chick, Aldi, Pie place off a really busy street. I did a teeth cleaning and x-rays which was covered by my insurance. I was impressed how friendly the staff was, the hygienist, Linda, Wendy the front desk, and the Dr. herself. My appointment started on time at 9am, I got x-rays done and were much different as their were hardly any biting and gagging and Linda was very patient and kind and had a smile behind the mask as you can tell she loved her job. She gave me a couple of great pointers of how to floss and how to brush which was great. The overall process took around 50 minutes which is normal for cleaning and x-rays. They recommended that I get a night guard with lowers retainers removed and get ortho treatment on my upper teeth. The quotes were not too bad as insurance covered some of it. I ended up getting a night guard and lower retainers removed and they ended up doing it right away. The ortho I felt could wait as I did not feel like spending that much for that day, but they did not pressure me into getting it which was nice. Maybe in the future I will consider. It took another hour to removed my retainer and do impressions on my teeth. Impressions are not fun to do, but they did their best to comfort me while I was in pain. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to go to.

I decided to go with the best reviews and the receptionist that made me the most comfortable. While most dentist offices I contacted were either closed on Fridays (?!?!) or didn't have an opening, Mirror Lake Dentistry made it work. They made an appointment for my husband during a time that worked for HIS schedule, and gave plenty of time to work on ALL of his problem areas in one appointment. All costs were addressed up front, and my husband came home with a brand new mouth saying (and I quote) "5 stars. I know who I'm giving my dental record to now." They were kind, quick, didn't give him the run around, THEY HAVE NETFLIX, and my husband is no longer afraid of getting dental work. Thank you, MLD! Check out the pics of my hubby's before and after!
