They did not even look inside my mouth nor did they do what I specifically requested to come in for. Although I know I have a few other issues, I specifically called and requested they take a look at my wisdom tooth. The pain is at the very far back of my mouth, and the dentist didn't even put a finger or look in my mouth AT ALL. They only took an X-ray of an area that excluded the wisdom tooth. I'm having to go to another provider and stay in pain until then. Just a terrible experience all around. Look elsewhere. read more

First I want to apologize for any office personnel at the Comfort Dental located at 540 Clay Mathis Rd, Mesquite, TX 75181 for any negative attitude that I might have displayed over the phone on 1-8-21 regarding my Cardiac Consultation. However my consultation was faxed to my doctor office on 12/15/20 and no one followed up until I called on 1-4-21. Then I went a step further and contacted my doctor's office on 1-4-21 to verify their fax number which I passed on to your receptionist the same day. I requested your receptionist to let me know when it had been faxed to my doctor's office so that I could call my doctor back to make sure they had received the fax. No one called me again, SoI followed up on 1-7-21. Again I was told by your receptionist that she would call me back with an update. No one did. I called again on 1-8-21. Twice I asked to speak to someone in charge and was told there was no office manager and no one in charge. Then I was told that the dentist I saw was not going to do my extractions and it would have been nice if he could have called me and explained to me why. I have been a patient of Comfort Dental for the past four or five years and have always been polite and friendly to the staff there. I feel the Customer Service I experienced last week from the office staff and dentist was uncaring and cold especially for a heart patient. However I am not accustomed to lashing out on workers who are only trying to do their job and are left to fend for themselves. I cannot in good faith continue to do business with a dental office that shows such a lack of sympathy and non communications to their patients. I wish you all well. read more

I went in for a bad cavity, in which I'll refer to as "mean tooth." I forgot what Medicaid covered. The office informed me that only the exam, x-rays and basic cleaning is covered. I almost cried when I got reminded what the government covers. I was going to have to pay out of pocket. Not the office's fault, but the government's. The staff and doctor were all nice to me and did their job well which dulled the pain of learning how much it would cost. I went home and tried to figure out what my options were because I really needed to get that tooth extracted. I remembered a certain fundraiser site. I signed up and shared what I was dealing with on there. I got some donations including one that covered the rest of my bill. I cried learning that I could get my tooth extracted. I made my appointment and went to it yesterday. I had my deep cleaning, filling in one tooth & the mean one extracted. It put up a fight. They had to drill several times and take it piece by piece 'til it was finally gone. It was like full-blown surgery from the suction to the scalpel to the sutures. It took them from around 12:30 to almost 3:00 to get it done. Dr. Park, Krysta Powers and Ashley Nguyen were all great. Most of the pain was felt when I had to pay, but it was worth it plus they earned it. Krysta has an amazingly soothing voice that's calming. It goes with the Comfort Dental brand. During the procedure both her and Dr. Park were very attentive in making sure I wasn't in pain. Ashley did the deep cleaning and did it well. It was a little intense, but bearable because she's trained well. Dr. Park must be pretty amazing at what he does because the only discomfort I've had was right after my dental procedure. Other than that, I can't tell that I even had work done except for missing that tooth. Thank all of you at Comfort Dental for an all around painless experience. read more

This place is a rip off. They schedule multiple appointments so you have to pay more. They don't do what you come in for. They do what they want to do. My appointment was at 8 a.m. I wasn't seen until 1030. So be prepared to stay all damn day. If you need to reschedule it's a $40 fee but they can leave you waiting for hours and you get nothing. Total b.s. find another dentist. read more

After dealing with this company to no avail I finally contacted the home office. My contact fro the home office has attempted on multiple occasions to get the dentists (Dr. J. Bullock, and Dr A. Lane) to do the right thing and make a refund. However she tells me they have refused. Since my dental situation has continued to deteriorate I must have my refund in order to go to another dentist to get relief from this pain. My only recourse at this point is to file in small claims court. If you are in need of dental care DO NOT go to Comfort Dental on Clay Mathis in Mesquite. Drs Lane and Shakespeare & their staff went above & beyond to accommodate my difficult schedule! They gave up their Friday night, the start of a holiday weekend, to do my extraction & bridge. In my lifetime I have had a lot of dental work done, but NEVER have I had such willingness by any other provider to go THAT extra mile. They never once made me feel that they were rushing to get thru with my work or that I was inconveniencing them in any way. They took their time with me & did an excellant job. I highly recommend them & WILL continue using them. I just hope my next emergency will be during their regular business hours. AND I was pleasantly with my out of pocket. I have been going through a very complicated dental implant procedure. It's been a year in the making so far and a very important part of this team is Dr. Alan Lane. He is brilliant and the best dentist I have ever been to. Like most people I have a fear of the dentist that runs very deep. He and his entire office staff go out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I am not a number to them they know me by name. No matter what is going on or if I am in pain I know all I have to do is pick up the phone and they are always there for me the same day. I absolutely love this place. Dr. Lane is the dentist for all 4 of my kids- ages 7-17. We never have a long wait and they always explain everything in plain english and not in dentistry terms. My son gets seen here. Yesterday, he had some terrible tooth pain. Called and they got us right in this morning. Dr. Park is amazing! He is great with my son, takes his time and we were there 2 hours to get everything done. My son felt so relaxed getting his teeth worked on. Best dental experience ever. Jeremy Curtis saw me after another dentist working for the same company stated that my intense pain was due to teeth grinding. He sent me home with Steroids for the swelling and insisted that I take tylenol. Two days later my face was considerablly swollen and the pain was unbearable. I resorted to return to the Dr. Jeremys office because the tooth in question had been filled by a dentist working at that office. Too make a long story short, Dr. Curtis insisted that I needed a root canal. He gave me pain meds and antibiotics and a appointment was scheduled for the procedure to take place two days later. FYI, I was concerned that the dentist gave conflicting conclusions. I wondered if the original procedure was not completed successfully, allowing infection to grow. So, my intent was to questioned if the tooth just needed to be refilled opposed to a root canal. On the day of the procedure, My face was still considerably swollen. However, the pain had ceased considerably. The dentist was condoling another customer who was angered due to her son being falsly diagnosed, which led to her son needing the resources of a specialist. This further concerned me. I did not want to question the liability of my situation but I now new there was no other choice. Eventually, the dentist entered my room and I questioned quite calmy. The dentist was agitated and verbalized that maybe the cavity was too huge to fill. I then resorted in the technique used (if filling procedure over root canal was the chosen procedure) He responded rudely, conferring he didn't know what happened during the procedure and that he could refer me to someone else. When initiating the procedure, he pressed on certain teeth and questioned where the pain was. I couldn't accurately grant a present location due to the pain meds and the entire side was in pain prior to the meds. He then states, "You need to tell me where the pain is so we can do the root canal on the right tooth". This was a shocker, he had the x-ray, he had decided on the procedure. How could me pin pointin the pain under the influence of pain meds affect his diagnosis of initiating a root canal. I questioned, he was agitated, he left for 5 minutes. He came back stating patroninzingly "Will you forgive me?" I ignored the behavior as to hastened the solution to the procedure. Finally, he then injects the solution to deaden my gums with procedure that included twisting the needle with a increased duration and pressure for the left side. I was in considerable pain. This was the final straw. I felt that I was experiencing the results of his agitation, I then noticeds that his dental assistant was grinning. I verbalized that I could not go through with the procedure under these conditions and commented regarding the assistants grin. She made no attempt to apologize, she focused on him. Note, I did not treat the dentist with disrespect throughout the appointment. I did not yell at him, I made sure that my tone was calm. I really needed to get the procedure done. I had taken a total of three days off. This in itself was unacceptable by my employer. I left the office, swollen face, crying, with no resolve. Please save yourself the dissapointment and all the other emotions. Choose another dentist. read more

I go to this dental office every two years to get dental work done. I've always gotten good service and good dental work done. This time however, my normal dentist had moved and I had to use a new one. Dr. Ha is a Korean dentist who served me. This soft spoken and gentle man gave me the best dental service I've ever had. He helped me get the best bang for my buck with the insurance since they had a maximum limit. I got more done with the amount I had and little out of pocket than I think I was ever able to get. He didn't do a half way job in order to do it either. He went beyond what any other dentist has done in order to give me what I needed. He took his time to make sure that it was complete and the best that could be done. Whether you're afraid of the shots or dentists in general tell him and he'll put you at ease immediately. I would recommend this dentist to any and everyone. read more

Comfort Dental is a great place for dental work. Jamey Curtis is wonderful. I'm 60 yrs old, but have always been afraid to go to the dentist. I had no anxiety, or fear, because he (caters to cowards), like me! Every time I've gone....no pain whatsoever. He also does just the work that needs to be done in your best interest. He doesn't do unnecessary work, like many dentist have done in my past. He has a great personality also. His staff were pleasant and helpful as well. read more

DON"T go to this place. This was one of the worst experiences I've had a dentist office. The only redeeming value is that the staff is very nice. The wait times are horrible (they schedule multiple people for the same time slot and the same dentist) and the care is awful. I went in for a cleaning and it took almost 2 hours. There were only 2 dentists and 6 patients. They would do work on one and stop halfway through and go to another. I've had cleanings twice a year for over 50 years so I know what to expect. My insurance covers cleanings so I was surprised when I was charged $70. I was told I needed a periodontal cleaning since I had a deep cleaning 6 months ago (not true). The periodontal cleaning they gave me was a regular cleaning like I've had for years. I called my insurance company when I got home to find out what they covered and asked what their definition of a cleaning was. I was told it was exactly what I had just had done. When I called the dental office back and asked them what they considered a regular cleaning they told me they polished the teeth. Any scaling or removing of plaque was considered periodontal work. What a scam they are pulling on the insurance companies. I have a claim in with my insurance company and will see if I get a refund. I have no confidence that the work they did do was sufficient but can't go to see another dentist for 6 months.
