Maggie was super sweet and got me in right away. She told me that parking is a little tricky and to call if I had any Q's. Of course, I got a little confused and called her. She got me to the large parking lot and there it was. PRO TIP: Park in that large parking lot off Market and turn your back to Iao, that's the direction of this building. It's a little tricky to find, but so worth it when you do. The walk way down was covered in plants and flowers and the vibe was relaxing. The building and decor are SO cute! Charming, chic and simple.. She was very welcoming and had me sit and listened to what I want. She washed, cut and styled my hair so freaking adorable. Also, she uses what's called a "Wet Brush"... and there was no pain while she brushed through my long hair. Do you have long hair? This brush is a TOTAL game changer. I will forever be indebted to Maggie for showing me this fabulous brush! She was so down to earth! Her husband and daughter showed up for lunch and ate while she finished up. We found this gem on Yelp after grabbing lunch nearby, and made our way around the staircase to the second floor, to see if they had time for a walk-in kid's cut (his inaugural one!). The vibe inside this place reminded me of how hair salons used to feel 20 years ago (at least on the mainland). Hair stylists chit chatting with another, joking, smiling, laughing. Hair salons used to feel so chill, personal and familial like that. These days everything feels very corporate and structured and it made me realize how much I miss that kind of feeling. Anyway, let's get back to the haircut! Somehow, we really lucked out. The stylist was just fantastic (sorry I forgot her name!). She was an absolute pro and made our little guy look like a very young Bradley Cooper (and, he did great too). He was super comfortable around her, and we are very sad she doesn't live closer. We would be back in a heartbeat!
