Very welcoming place to get an introduction to line dancing! I am totally new to line dancing but the instructors here were great. They kept things moving but also broke everything down slowly enough to get us novices dancing on night one. They have three different stages with different levels and I really appreciated the beginner lessons. It was cool to get to learn a dance and then immediately go try it on the bigger stage! I also liked how they spread out the beginner lessons throughout the night. As others have said it is $15 cash only entrance and all the food and drinks are also cash only. Came here to try line dancing for the first time. Had so much fun! They teach you the dances (spread out across a few hours) and then you can go and try your new dance moves out on the dance floor. Most dances are size inclusive, but it's a great workout either way! A few things to note, if you want a table, GET THERE EARLY. Bring a fan, as it packed and HOT. Door fee of $15 cash, not $10 per person. Also, they have a cash bar, and a small concession stand ( I believe is also cash), but offer free cold water. They said they don't let outside food in. Guy at the door literally told me to go to another bar down the street instead of seeing my friend dance. I drove there from CT to see her was going to stay for one drink as I watched her dance with CT group but they would not let me in unless I paid 15 to sit at the bar and purchase a drink for maybe 45 minutes tops. As he was very rude and could have said this in a more polite and hospitable way and the blonde lady who looked like she was in charge of maybe the money was not much better in the politeness category. People from long distances come here to this place and spend a lot of money here so you should be more forgiving to the locals and people who do not dance and want to watch and possibly be interested to join. So a15 dollar fee is a bit steep for 45 minutes not taking any lessons. I would have been happy to pay 5 dollar cover charge and buy a drink at the bar but they were not willing to do that . Too bad because I know many people that go there and live close by and they will be informed of the rude staff that was on sat night on May 2nd .i know someone that works the door there , she was not working that night., and she would never have treated any customer like that so it's not all staff . So in short offer a small fee for non dancers and be more polite to customers! read more

First off. It's in the middle of no where . It has a dirt parking lot and looks like a run down VFW in Kentucky somewhere. The staff were rude and it was over crowded. The music was crap and so was their drink selection. Don't go there. Ever. read more

This is the closest you can get to Texas in the area. Beer, pizza, and linedancing to not just country music. Mondays are the busiest day so arrive early! Loads of fun and you can either learn linedancing basics or jump in with the seasoned folks (I am definitely not one). read more

I went here for a friend's party and it was awesome! Apparently it's a rule that you're supposed to show up at 7 or 8, cover is now $15 (which covers dance lessons), the venue is 100% cash only, and they have rotating line dancing lessons - I guess this depends on what night you come. We were there on a Fri night and it was packed. It's not a freestyle bar place where people come to just hang out and do their own thing. There are three stages: beginner, intermediate, and advanced and the dances are called (scripted). You can't just wander in here at 10 or later to top yourself off and ogle young people. IMO this keeps the vibe positive and safe for all ages. It also gets pretty hot in the barn with all the dancing so wear short sleeves. The food is snack bar fare with pizza and chips - nothing elaborate, so come after dinner. Seating is also really tight - that was probably the only true negative for me. Lots of people save tables and it's hard to find a place to put your drink down. Also, they really discourage going out and coming back in - I don't think they want people lingering outside and smoking and stuff - they're also right next to a fire station, so that might have something to do with it. But at certain points we just needed to go out to cool off. I was hesitant at first - I'm not a dancer and don't particularly love country pop music - but these were not barriers. Music was varied and lessons were fantastic. All ages were enjoying the dance floor. Every single person we met from the folks at the door, to the bartenders, snack bar workers, and dance instructors were so nice and helpful. I actually asked someone if this place was a cult because folks were so nice. I've lived here forever and I've never been to a bar that is this welcoming. As long as you're cool with the rules you'll have a great time. We had a blast and will definitely be back. read more

I've been coming to the barn for about a year and a half, and I can't say enough good things. The instructors are all patient, kind, and there for a good time. Fellow dancers will help you figure out a dance if you're struggling. The owners Dan and Kelly are fiercely protective of the environment, doing whatever they need to to make it a safe and comfortable place for all respectful patrons. The best place around for country line dancing! I've been coming to the barn for about 5 years now and I'm never disappointed! The owners, Dan and Kelly, are absolutely amazing people and treat everyone like family! All of the staff there are extremely friendly! They have beginner lessons every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (and usually toss in an intermediate lesson somewhere in the night!). The DJ booth has a request sheet, so your input is always taken into account for the night! There are three dance floors that allows for plenty of diversity, since different dances can be done simultaneously to the same song! The regulars here are all so friendly and helpful; always willing to offer help with dances for those who need it! I've met some of my very best friends here that have since become a true family. An absolute Gem!!!!!!!!!! I live north of Boston and I travel all the way to West Greenwich as much as possible for lessons on Mondays or Wednesday. It is so fun to see all ages out dancing (from 18ys-60+). Mondays are slam packed... It's hard to find room on the floor but it is awesome!!!!!!! There is a bar and a very small snack shop. They let you order from a local restaurant at the bar if you want to order in pizza/etc. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to go out, those who like (and don't like) to dance, and those who just want to hang at the bar and watch some dancing! Sooooo much fun, I haven't stopped talking about it since Wednesday (count 'em - 4 days later!). Get out your boot scootin' boogie, saddle up some plaid, red/white/blue, maybe your closet cowboy hat and come on down to the back woods of Rhode Island for a GOOD TIME! On Mondays and Wednesdays they offer line dancing lessons for a $9 cover charge, and all the kids are doing it. I saw everything from high school couples, to young marrieds, and seasoned country lovers shaking their stuff to top 40s dance and that twang, albeit modern! It was merriment all around. Better then Zumba because you can drink (hello, beers are $4, drinks $6) and I found myself sweating more. So let's just call this a cheap date I'd like to repeat sometime soon. read more

Rented place for birthday party from the moment my guest walked through the door they were treated like second class citizens, this was a Saturday night other than the party it was an older crowd which didn't seem to have a problem with us but the owners followed my guest outside when going out for a smoke were told they were not allowed to go to their vehicles pretty much treated like school children, the supposed greeter never smiled or even acknowledge that we existed, to start the overall experience we were actually scolded for not wiping our feet. Let me start by saying I just attended a 70s reunion with my sister in law and I spent over 80 dollars between admission and raffle tickets - and as a bartender of over12 years I would like to add my opinion - my first drink was no issue but my sister in law was drinking frozen mudslides - so by the third one the old lady decided to roll her eyes and not use any manners- we did proceed to tip every time $1 per drink - by the third mudslide she actually refused to make one and told us to ask the other bartender- completely disrespectful and rude - the other young bartender Jess was very nice and proceeded to make our drink - now if you can't do your job or your that miserable I don't think you should be behind a bar - someone should relieve that woman of her duties or there's gonna be more bad reviews !! Sooooo fun. So, so, fun. I really didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I went with three friends on a Tuesday night. It's a beginners night so they teach you the dances then move you to the main floor to do them. The instructor was good, he really knew how to teach so everyone got it. There was plenty of room to dance and the place is so affordable. They charge 9 dollars to get in and the drinks are also really cheap. If you are looking for a fun night with friends and a good workout, this is definitely the place. I can't stop thinking about going back!! read more

Mishnock Barn is an authentic two-steppin and line dancing establishment. I lived in Texas for 2 years and have seen real-deal country dancing clubs. When my wife and I walked into Mishnock, it felt like we were back in Houston. We went on a Wednesday which is open to beginner dancers which is the category that my wife and I fit in. There are 3 dance floors; the one in the back is reserved for lessons; this is nice because you can't see the other really good dancers on the other floors as you are fumbling around trying to figure out new dance moves. The instructor was very good but keep in mind that you have to be a quick learner as the instructions are fast and presented on the "go". A dance is taught on the back dance floor and once the instruction is done, then you move to the main dance floor to put your moves to the test. This happens for each dance that is taught throughout the night. Back-and-forth between the instructional stage to the main stage. There were plenty of new dancers so I certainly didn't feel out of place as I was trying my hardest to perfect dance steps that I had just learned. Be ready to learn, sweat, dance a lot, and have a great time. There was hardly a break to chug a beer in between sessions. I had a great time at Mishnock Barn. I will definitely be coming back. Went here for a fundraiser event with a huge crowd. The barn has a cozy comfortable spacious interior with large dance floor and large stage for bands. Despite the large crowd the bar staff was very efficient, friendly, professional and did a great job keeping up with serving patrons timely. read more

Came here for line dancing on a Monday night, beginner was supposed to start at 7:30pm but didn't start until about 7:45/8 so don't rush in getting here early. The steps were easy to follow and allowed for such a great time! They have a large bar area and lots of tables to relax in between. There is a small selection of food if you want a snack and the dance floors are extensive. Super casual atmosphere and you do not need to participate in line dancing to go. You can certainly just sit at the bar and relax and watch. The decor and dress there makes you feel like you are in Texas, so much fun and non judgmental. The line dancing is $10 but I am unsure if you still have to pay this if you don't participate. The only downfall is if you try to take a bottle of water in, they follow you to your car to ensure you put it back in your car and do not allow you to drink it? I felt like a child getting scolded for going to my car for a bottle of water to drink during line dancing. Apparently water is a sore spot with them and it is not allowed, surprised they didn't try to arrest me for this, that is how bad I was scolded and escorted to my car haha!
