Miso Ramen is easily my favorite ramen spot in the Raleigh area and a place I've consistently enjoyed every time I've visited. The flavors here are rich and comforting, especially when it's cold outside. My go-to orders are the Spicy Tan Tan and the Tonkotsu, both of which are packed with flavor and always hit the spot. The broth is satisfying, the noodles are well-cooked, and it's exactly the kind of meal you crave on a chilly day. This would have been a five-star review for me in the past, but I've knocked it down slightly because the prices have been creeping up. It's starting to feel a bit steep for what used to be an easy, go-to lunch spot, even though the quality is still there. That said, the food itself remains excellent, and I'll absolutely continue coming back, just a little less often for lunch than I used to. Food comes very quickly but very limited seating so keep that in mind if going during peak dining hours. Still a top-tier ramen option in Raleigh.
We stopped by to grab a bite to eat around noon. David took our order and was super friendly and patient. He talked us through some options, including a spicy tomato base for the vegan ramen, which wasn't on the menu. It was delightful! Both ramen bowls we ordered were packed with goodies (mushrooms, baby bok choy, corn, scallions, etc). We even had probably 1.5 times the amount of ramen that normally comes in bowls this size. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed. Oh yeah, when David saw our son sharing some ramen with us, he brought us out another bowl and chopsticks for him. Class act. We ate outside because the weather was perfect, and the outdoor eating area is large and had some bangers playing on the radio. All around it was a great dining experience.
Just went today and can't wait to go back! Probably the best food I've seen in the most unassuming location. Smaller inside area and order counter but plenty of seating on the tented patio. The man working the counter was doing it all but still friendly and joked with our toddler. We got the spicy tan tan and chicken curry along with dumplings and edamame. I'd recommend all of it. The depth of flavor in the dishes from such a small kitchen is amazing. I don't think we will make it a week without going back for more. Only warning would be to dress accordingly for slurping ramen.
I came in on a cooler day, notable because this place is fairly small inside but has outdoor seating. It was starting to fill up, but I still got an indoor bar-style seat. They have a small menu like most ramen places, but there was a vegetarian special in addition to the standing option that I came for. I stuck with what is apparently their classic. Their curry ramen was fantastic, with a brightly colored mix of vegetables and a excellent broth that really popped with a squeeze of lime. They use noodles with kale in them, which are green enough and bitter enough to know you're getting some kale but which complement the other ingredients well. So there is a ton of actual vegetable in this veggie ramen (and some tofu so you're getting some protein). I ordered some tea and let it steep a bit too long, but it was good quality loose leaf tea. They had mochi and some appetizers as well.
Very nice location, everyone was so nice and we were seated quickly. We were in the area and stopped by for lunch. I ordered the Tonkotsu and it took a while, so I was a little disappointed that my brother was lukewarm. Other ramen spots also have a variety of add ons; like wonton skins, fish cake etc. they offer none of that. In the end, I would go back again, but maybe try a rice dish.
I have driven by this restaurant multiple times over the last few months. I finally decided to stop and try it out. Miso Ramen Bar is a great spot. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and the vibe is chill. I'm going to be honest and share that it took me a little bit to choose a menu item to try. I landed on the Miso Ramen. The broth has a strong, miso flavor that is completed with ramen, of course, a boiled egg, mushrooms, chicken and additional veggies. The meal is enough to split over two days, which is exactly what I did.
If you want to pay for just the food--not service, presentation, or vibe--this is your place! The ramen noodles are solid: good texture, big portions, and fresh flavors. Presentation-wise, there isn't much distinction among the different bowls since most come with similar toppings. Our favorite was the spicy tomato miso--it had the most depth of flavor and is probably the one we'd come back for (the miso ramen was also good). The tan tan noodles were less complex than versions I've had elsewhere. Not very spicy, but definitely ask for their homemade chili sauce!! It's fantastic and truly has a kick to it. Service was very friendly, even though it's more of a "do it yourself" style. We sat outside at a picnic table, which had its own casual charm. The inside is small and intimate, and I can imagine it gets packed once the weather turns colder.
I love this place so much. The place has such high quality, delicious food for such a casual feel. The prices are fair and the servers/staff are extremely attentive.
I haven't been here since the lockdown, and I was delighted when a friend suggested this order-at-the-counter place for lunch today! Seating is still tight, but the covered patio was perfect on this warm February day. Cesar was wonderful! He thoroughly explained the menu, brought our chicken curry ramen and tonkatsu ramen quickly, and even brought me a fork without judging me (chopsticks and I don't get along). The ramen was still amazing, and the prices were reasonable. Next time, I don't plan to wait so long before going back!
Miso Ramen bar is a cool little spot. They provided great knowledgeable service and the food was good. I enjoyed the Curry chicken rice bowl. Full of flavor. The many textures in the dish made for a tasty and enjoyable meal. I recommend give them a try.
Good ramen is very hard to find. The reviews for this place looked decent so decided to give it a try. It was such a rainy and gloomy day and I just wanted something warm and satisfying. They opened at 11am and I was first in the door to order. I got the Spicy Tan Tan ramen and omg, perfection. The flavors were phenomenal. Just enough spice. I was so happy. To order, you go to the register, place order and a number is given where you can put it in the holder at your table. Drinks are in the fridge to the right of the register and water is also available. I must say, that water was some of the coldest water I have ever had lol. Sometimes restaurants that offer water that is self serve is usually Luke warm, but not here! I will be back very soon! Plenty of parking in the plaza. They also have outdoor seating that is currently covered but accessible (it looks like) for the winter months.
Loved this experience. The food was really good. Rich flavors, great portion, and very filling. The service was good. Ambiance is 5/10. Seating is limited. It's a smaller business but has great taste. Overall 8/10

My kids love ramen so we tried this restaurant out. Fresh veggies and ramen. The presentation of the dishes is lovely. The restaurant has hip decor including anime art and even an anime movie playing near the bar. Ramen is not really my thing so I rated Miso Ramen Bar as average for food (higher rating for anime-inspired decor), but my teen and pre-teen loved it. read more

Haiku: Miso Ramen Bar Generous portions Yum creamy tonkotsu broth Noodles go slurp slurp. --- It was a cold night in Cary and Miso Ramen Bar came in clutch to warm my soul with a Tonkotsu Ramen. I'm impressed with their generous servings of thick cuts of chashu and an entire soft-boiled egg. Their dreamy, creamy broth felt like a warm hug. Their appetizers were pretty good too. The takoyaki was perfectly crispy and the pork belly buns had thick cuts of meat and shredded carrots and cucumber. They have a large covered patio section for outdoor seating, however, they should have a heat lamp for each outdoor table. People were vying for premium heat lamp real estate. My party ended up moving to another table with a heat lamp once an empty table came available. read more
My wife and I ordered take out from Miso Ramen and overall, I thought the food was good, not great. I ordered Takoyaki as an appetizer, and I thought it was fine. The flavor was good and the texture was soft on the inside but could have been crispier on the outside. Perhaps part of that was because we took it to-go. I also wish they had more octopus inside. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen, which came with chashu pork, egg, bok choy, kikurage (wood ear), corn, scallions, and nori. The online menu says it should come with enoki, but mine didn't. The broth was pretty good - creamy and not overly salty. The noodles were also chewy (in a good way), and the chashu pork was pretty tender and charred nicely. And they separated the broth from the other ingredients to not soak the noodles in transit, which I appreciated. Overall, I liked my ramen, but it didn't blow me away. My wife got the Shoyu Ramen, which also came with chashu, egg, kikurage, bok choy, menma (bamboo shoots), scallions, and nori. I think it was also supposed to come with enoki, but it didn't - I'm guessing they were out today, but we weren't told that. Her broth was a bit on the salty side. The toppings were similar to mine, so not much difference there. I preferred the Tonkatsu slightly over the Shoyu, but I'd probably eat both again. The ordering and pick-up of the food was easy and the pricing is reasonable. It's a decent ramen place, and I wouldn't mind returning to try other ramen. read more
It's not just Ramen, it's R.A.M.E.N! Every time we visit, the place is packed and for good reason. It's simply the best. I ordered the Curry Chicken Ramen bowl that heaped with veggies, egg, noodles, coconut flavors, and a savory broth that just keeps bringing us back for more. My family has had other plates and they are big fans too! Add it to your weekly quick go tos when you aren't in the mood to cook and want something that hits the spot. The interior is small and cozy and most people who visit are there for the ramen. It's not a cocktails and dinner type of place. It's more about the food. read more
Okay so my birthday weekend was epic at least in terms of eating out. I have been mostly eating in the house. We have our own ramen nights, but I agreed to do ramen out for my birthday. This place did not disappoint. The portions were huge. Get the Chicken curry bowl. I had extra egg and enoki. So worth it. I order the Shoyu Ramen. The noodles were so well. It was chewy and had the perfect bite. The flavor was good but I have I the broth was too salty for my taste. Next time I ask for it too be less salty. The pork was alright. My friend the Tonkotsu ramen and made spicy. It was really good. The service was really fast. Probably a better spot to plan on takeout as the seating isn't the best. Very casual. Our main dishes were amazing and very satisfying. Pricing was decent. Service was SLOW. If we hadn't paid ahead of time we honestly probably would've walked out. Eek. The bao buns were something I was most looking forward to as they're highly spoken of and they came out hard and "over microwaved". I took them back and showed him how hard the bao buns were. He brought out a new batch but they were much the same. So disappointed. Overall, I would go back for the ramen but it seems the Raleigh location might be a better option. read more

An unbelievable meal! Stopped by for the first time on a whim and ordered based on the recommendations of the cashier. The Spicy Tomato Miso would not have been my first choice, but it was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. The broth was rich, earthy and slightly spicy, while the bowl was full of noodles and veggies. The crispy fried shrimp was a great contrast. As my appetizer, I had the Pork Belly Buns. The bao buns were pillowy and soft, the pork belly was crispy. Highly recommend. Phenomenal. read more

We came in right at 5 to place an order. Waited for over an hour, and the entire time we were waiting they were only making their online orders. After 45 mins of waiting they told us it would be out soon. 15 mins after that they announced that they had an issue with their priming system and had lost all their tickets and were just now making the orders. The food finally came out after 1.5 hours of waiting, no compensation was offered even though we had to wait for so long and it was their mistake. The food was ok, nothing special. The rice bowl was 95% rice, 3% vegetable, 2% meat, and $15 (unagi wel bowl). My sisters are vegetarian and had very few options on the menu, the only two vegetarian options were both curry based and neither of them loved what they got. Overall not a good experience, I expected much more. read more
Nobody does broth like our Asian friends accross the pond. What a wonderful gift they've shared with us. The Tonkatsu bowl was so good I came back the next day to kick it up a notch with the spicy Tan Tan added to it. Eating healthy can taste delicious - this place is proof. Location: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Food quality: 5/5 Food price: 5/5 Miso Ramen Bar was amazing! My first time visiting on a weeknight, I got the Spicy Tan Tan. I was amazed by the flavor and quality of the ramen even though it was only ~$13 after tax! By far, this place gives one of the cheapest but high quality ramen. Most of the time, the high quality ramen I buy is upwards of $16-20, so this was a pleasant surprise. The flavor was awesome, but we also did ask for extra spicy oil on the side to give it more of a kick. Miso Ramen is located right next to a great boba restaurant, so we bought boba and had ramen. There wasn't very much customer service outside of handing you your food. This little restaurant is definitely not a place I'd go if I was focusing on ambiance, service, and quietness, but it's a GREAT place if I'm trying to drop by for great food. Miso Ramen Bar is my favorite ramen spot in Cary. They have consistently delicious and well-priced ramen, and also great non-ramen options. This time, we got the spicy tan tan ramen and the Chashu rice bowl. The rice bowl was packed with toppings, seasoned rice, and delicious pork. The ramen was warm, spicy, and delicious - the noodles were perfectly cooked and there were also lots of toppings. Wow! This spot takes ramen to the next level. The tonkatsu broth is rich, and the pork belly is so flavorful! It was chocked full of veggies and an entire egg. They have gluten-free rice noodles!! Lots of dairy-free options. It has pretty tight indoor seating. The outdoor seating is at picnic tables looking out over the parking lot. The service was fast and friendly. First time to try their Tonkotsu Ramen and it was very good!! I have to say it was authentic. The broth has very creamy and rich flavor and the noodles were just right softness and texture. I wish the pork was a little more tender though. I'll recommend to try this to anyone who likes Tonkotsu ramen! read more

Very rich and flavorful! Best ramen I've had in NC. Service is quick and staff is very thoughtful. My bf and I went again the following week and one of the staff members remembered that we had inquired about getting extra noodles. The restaurant is small, with indoor (bar and tables) and outdoor seating available, however I've never had an issue with finding a place to sit on the weekends. read more
Accidentally stumbled into this ramen joint while cruising around late at night...and WOW!!! It's a super-casual, pay-at-the-cashier type eatery in a modest shopping strip...and yet, their ramen is the finest there is! I had the Tonkotsu Ramen with Level 2 Spiciness...and it was loaded with tons of veggies, as well as tons of Pork Loins and Eggs. Also tried their Takoyaki...and also damn yummy!! My opinion is this place has been over hyped. The dish presentation is lovely, but the flavors are a bit of a miss. I ordered the classic Tonkontsu with pork and the broth was over seasoned and some of the pork was too fatty to eat. At the table of 4, none of us finished our bowls. I wouldn't say the food is bad, just mediocre. Restaurant is small and tables were packed shoulder to shoulder when we were their at dinner on Wednesday night. Good vegetarian options but limited drink menu, especially alcohol. read more

Came here with a party of 2 during dinner on a Wednesday evening and it was relatively busy! There was only outdoor dining and takeout available. There were about 4-5 tables next to the restaurant outside but all were taken, so we had to wait about 15 minutes for one to clear up. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. All were following COVID guidelines. You first order at the register then the waiter will bring the food to you. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and was about $12. It took around 15-20 minutes for the food to come out. Off the bat, the ramen bowl was loaded with veggies and a whole boiled egg. I love veggies, especially the ones featured in this bowl so no complaints there! The egg was a bit over boiled than I'd like but not a deal breaker. There was a generous portion of noodles to where I could barely finish my bowl! Now the most important part - the broth. It wasn't super outstanding as I can't really pinpoint anything that wow'd me. It definitely was not as flavorful as other tonkotsu ramen I've had though. All in all, a solid bowl of ramen at the end of the day! read more
Suuuuuuper yummy bowl of Spicy Tan Tan ramen with extra chashu pork & bamboo shoots!! Broth was rich and very creamy. Both the ground pork and the chashu were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Toppings were fresh and the whole bowl was a feast for the eyes as well as mah belly!! My lady had the Tonkatsu and was very happy and completely satisfied. And extra special shout out to the staff who took great care making sure our meal was to our liking...and especially for making us feel extra safe by sanitizing door handles, empty tables, and all high touch surfaces about every five minutes or so. Y'all!! I'm so mad I hadn't made it to the Miso Ramen Bar until today! I had a lunch date scheduled when they first opened then sadly quarantine happened and I never made it. I didn't know what I was missing out on Don't make the same mistake as me and head over there today! I started with pork belly baos. It's only $5 for 2 and they definitely overstuff the baos, I could barely fit it in my mouth! They were really saucy, juicy, and fluffy I got myself a bowl of tonkotsu 3/3 spicy and it changed my life! The broth was so rich and savory, I loved all the veggies that added texture, noodles were perfectly cooked, and the pork... It left me speechless Honestly, their portions are so generous that I think you can share and appetizer and a bowl of noodles between 2 people. BUT their ramen is so good that you're gonna want a bowl of your own. Trust me. If you like spicy food, definitely get 3/3. It wasn't spicy enough for my liking but you can always ask for chili oil if needed! If you don't like spicy then you can get it not spicy. Overall, I dare say that Miso Ramen Bar has the best ramen in the Triangle! It was perfect for a hot day (such a Korean thing to fight hot weather with hot food) Plus, it's located right next to Kung Fu Tea so it's like a one stop shop! read more

Tl;dr: if you like ramen, skip the rest and come here! This place has been on my radar since finding it on Yelp. We decided to try it one day and we are hooked. I love the tight kitchen and huge simmer pots of broth visible from the dining room. We got the spicy tan tan and the tonkotsu ramen. The spicy ramen was a delicious and the consistency was creamy so it coated the noodles well when you slurped them up. The spicy level could be increased, but I think this is a great level entry "spicy" that carries great flavor. The tonkotsu ramen was made with the same broth, just no spice. The tare (tah-ray) seasoning that seasons the tonkotsu broth must be very rich because the tonkotsu broth was DELICIOUS and had a great garlicky profile without being overpowering. We dined outside because it was overcast and comfortable! They do a great job of bussing the tables so everything is clean, but we made sure to keep everything tidy for them since the crowds were picking up! read more

This was a great place for date night. Food was delicious and good for the price. One thing I was disappointed at though was one of the dishes. The unagi bowl hardly had any unagi :( But other than that, the staff and service were accommodating and friendly. The interior of the place is very hip and artsy. Why did it take so long for another ramen shop to pop up in Cary? In my opinion, it's because it has to be good to stay. I believe that Miso Ramen is here to stay. I stopped in for lunch and really loved the concept! You get in line, you order, you sit down, and someone brings it out to you. It's simple, quick, straight to the point. No waitresses to fill your water or ask if you're doing ok -- self served water, napkins, hot sauce, free sunlight, you name it! The menu is straight forward with just enough options without it being too overwhelming. What do you want? Ramen? If not, a rice bowl or appetizers? Loving the simple menu! The ramen options are awesome too. A simple bowl of ramen but yet so different. I went for the ""Curry Ramen" this time around. How was it? It was delicious! The broth is more on the thicker and creamy side but very flavorful and salty; which is how a legit pork base ramen broth is supposed to be. Although, I prefer mine more on the soupy side. I really enjoyed the veggies and tenderness of the chicken! Loved how the chicken had a char flavor to it. The presentation was beautiful (see photos). Overall, for $11.99 -- the price is on point! Management, if you are reading this -- DO NOT CHANGE THE PRICE. It's so right for the quality and quantity. Fantastic customer service too! One last thing! I came here with some friends for lunch. We noticed it smelled amazing even before entering the restaurant! All the ramen bowls are $12 which was a really good price for the large portion. I ended up having enough leftovers for a second meal! There are a lot of good options on the menu but I chose the Spicy Tan Tan because of all the rave reviews. It had egg noodles, bok choy, enoki mushrooms, ground pork, corn, scallions, seaweed, and ajitsuke egg in a rich bone broth with sesame paste. It was definitely delicious and flavorful, but the soup base was way too salty for me. Not sure if this was just personal preference or not though, but it was enough to make me consider getting a different dish next time. It also wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. We also shared the Takoyaki appetizer and Ube ice cream. Both were delicious! The Ube ice cream was especially refreshing. read more
Miso Ramen is a decent place. We got the Tonkotsu and Spicy Tan Tan- the pork flavor is okay, although it could be stronger. The broth is extremely salty, so I just ate the noodles without slurping much of the soup (no low sodium version). I specifically asked if low-sodium was available and was told "no, the soup is already cooked as is" by the staff. However, after sharing that on Instagram, a rep from their page said that low-sodium is available and they can just add more "bone broth" without the pre-added salts. Maybe I'll push harder next time to get the low sodium option. The pork belly, soft egg, and crisp bok choy toppings were all good. Surprisingly, my spicy tan tan was not that spicy, but I was able to ask for chili oil and togarashi to make it spicier. I did ask for el dente noodles but it didn't really come out "el dente," but still good. Overall, I think Miso Ramen serves up a decent bowl of ramen if you don't care too much about the extremely salty broth, but I would still rather go to Koi Ramen near by instead. I was so happy to see a ramen place opening close by so had to check it out. It didn't disappoint. The dining room is small with limited seating. This place is great for a quick bite with a few friends but definitely not a place to linger with a big group. You place the order at the register, get a number and they bring your dishes to the table. You go get your own utensils...& water is available...serve yourself. The ramen didn't disappoint. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was very well made. The noodles had just the right chew...not over done & mushy. The ajisuke egg was perfectly done. Highly recommend if you want a hearty quick meal. Am planning to go back & try the other offerings. Price-wise it is a bit less expensive than other places around. Big bonus??? It's next door to Kung -Fu Tea so you could get your bubble tea fix too!! read more

This place pretty popular among the locals I bet. It's packed when we came. The place kind a small and a little tight. But they have outdoor area under the shade...so when you come with a group of 6 or more....outdoor will be perfect... I drop 1 star because the service kind a slow...it really takes sometimes for our food to come. My favourite on this first fisit is Pork Belly Fries...it is a bomb...never try this combination before....and surprisingly it is so good ..Spicy Tan Tan for me not that flavorful as I expected. Good thing they also have the self serve water dispenser that you can help yourself...inside and outside... Overall I enjoy the food....the inside not so much....if you come for only quick lunch then yes....not a place to hang out... read more

They have various kinds of broth made with beef or pork. They may also use mushroom but I don't believe seafood. Always good to double check.
Do they have gluten free options - rice noodles?
Miso Ramen Bar now offers rice noodles as a gluten-free option. The kale noodles (while not gluten free) are a great choice if you want to make your bowl a little healthier!
