I am so sad about grass jelly no longer being a thing but this review is not about that! This review is all about customer service. We came here for an afternoon sweet treat and our toddler was not a fan of the mango pancakes. So we went to the counter to order a drink, hoping for something small and the worker hooked us up with a small sized strawberry boba. It made our kid's heart so happy (taste buds too) and ours as well!!
I've been here a couple times for cupsleeve events- the drink menu is more limited compared to other places i've gone to (half the menu is desserts) so if you're interested in a dessert vs a drink this could be a place to check out. The drinks were made fairly quickly. It was a bit sad that they were still using their holiday cups in January, so we missed out on the clear cups. I got the Orange Fantasy tea, it was nice with regular sweetness and I enjoyed eating the orange slices at the end (do not judge my self diagnosed vitamin c deficiency) One thing i'd like to comment on is that according to the other people I went with, the bathroom was pretty dirty and needed some items restocked, even though we arrived only an hour after opening time. It seemed like there was definitely time and staff to clean it since the place wasn't super busy while we were there... the bathroom door lock is also a little wonky so if you do use it, a buddy protecting the door is recommended lol
The newest miss dessert location closer to the phx DT area. I like it for the times I don't want to drive out to mesa or Gilbert area. It's definitely spacious/bigger and has lots of tables for seating. When we came there was only 1 girl working and she had a huge to go order to fulfill, so it took longer than normal and she seemed pretty frazzled. As far as quality it's really good and fresh here. If you want the best cold dessert type drink on a hot day, this is the place. *note* we drove to the other mesa location and there was no indication it was closed for renovations, so we drove all the way to this location instead. Wished there was an announcement on their website to let us know this location was temporarily closed and to only go to the other 2 locations.
Miss Dessert had some delicious foods! The place is super clean, inviting with smiling employees. We ordered a brown sugar latte, mango sticky rice and mango pancakes. Everything was ready quickly and so delicious. The brown sugar latte was perfect amount of sweetness. You can order less or more sweet. The mango with purple sticky rice is always a great dessert. The mango pancakes were so fluffy, creamy and delicate. Can't wait to stop in again soon!
Coming in from the Bay Area, the desserts here was good but not the best find. I did love the ambiance though, good music and plenty of seating around. I got the purple rice with mango and vanilla snow and it was good. I'd rate it a 6/10! If i were to come back to Phoenix i would opt to try other places instead, but it was a good place to try.
Came here because I was craving milk tea and it was one of the few places somewhat near Uptown Phoenix that was available on a Saturday night after 8 PM. In short, I was disappointed with my experience. Ambiance (2/5): The music was so loud, I couldn't properly hear the cashier right in front of me. Colors really clashed. It was full of fluorescent lighting with some bright neon signs, and coupled with the grayish-white looking walls, it just didn't feel like a warm setting to hang out. It kind of reminded me of a liquor store kind of feeling. Service (2/5): No friendly greeting and the cashier looked bored. Couldn't hear her over the loud music and had to ask her to repeat herself. The look on her face made me feel bad asking any questions, like she just wanted to put an order in and be done with it. Food/Value (2/5): I ordered the matcha milk tea. When I received my drink, I couldn't believe I paid for a tall cup full of ice. I could barely move my straw around because the ice was nearly to the top. I felt insanely ripped off. When I got home after about 20 mins of stirring it to try to melt more ice in the drink (which was super thick and sweet), I took off the cap to see that indeed, the cup was probably about half full of ice if not more when I received it. In all, I wouldn't recommend this place. If you do get drinks there, be sure to ask for light or no ice, as it appears they are super heavy handed with it.
8/17/24: I have yet to try a boba tea house that I have not wanted to return to and Miss Dessert is no exception. It was fun to pop in this particular Saturday after eating at a sandwich shop down the street. This location has a decent-sized parking lot in the back, although its menu seemed smaller than the other location we visited. Regardless, this locale had some pretty chic seating with some cool decor inside. We had a couple good chuckles trying to puzzle out their logo while waiting for our drinks and snow bowl. One of their neon signs looked like a lima bean roasting a marshmallow. :-) We finally asked the gal behind the counter what the heck it was. She explained the jagged character is a durian and the other is a mango. What we took as lima bean roasting is actually the durian and mango taking a selfie. Boy, did we have that wrong! The other signage was them being sucked up into a UFO. We would both recommend Miss Dessert.
Visiting from SGV, I was very surprised to find a HK dessert spot in Phoenix! We ordered a mega fruit tea and a Mango a go go, both were very refreshing and hit the spot. I love the little fork that hangs on the side of fruit tea, very useful and thoughtful! They also serve milk tea, boba and other HK desserts. I think if this place was in LA, I would definitely visit all the time. Very spacious indoor area and even pet friendly!
Miss Dessert is the only place I know in Arizona that serves Hong Kong-style desserts--kind of like Hui Lau Shan if you've had that before. I always get the "All Mixed Up" or "Mojo Mix"--both are super refreshing. The vanilla snow is light and not too sweet, and the fruit is always fresh. Great spot if you're craving something cold, fruity, and not heavy. Some of their locations have turned into Ume Tea, so this is one of the last two left. I really hope they stick around! read more
I went to Miss Dessert for a cupsleeve event (read: kpop idol's birthday event). I opted for the Galaxy Lemonade (in part because it looked pretty) and was shocked to receive it in a Christmas cup.. which didn't show the drink. I opted for 50% sugar but it was still VERY sweet. Service was quick but not overly friendly, or kind. Bathrooms were gross. read more

After daddy daughter dinner date we went for some dessert and this was awesome. Fast delicious and lots of options. We had a great time and she can't wait to come back. Just remember to bring back your cup as they are reusable read more

Whenever I'm craving milk tea, I come here! My go to is always the milk tea with purple sticky rice. Depending on the time of day, service can be slow but doesn't stop me from continuing to come! Great spot to hang out at too since it's spacious! read more

I was so excited to have a boba shop open super close to my house, but I have to say, I still tend to drive to my preferred place rather than walk here. It's not that it's bad, but I don't love that they use nondairy creamer in their cream drinks, so I almost always get their drinks without milk. The drinks are a bit sweet, but not bad, especially on a hot day. The shop is cute and there is parking available. The prices are a little on the high side. read more

i love miss dessert!!! i usually frequent them in the summer because their drinks are super refreshing. service is quick, and i love that you can adjust the sweetness level of your drink according to preference. it's never too crowded in there, i like the quietness. bummed that they removed the strawberry matcha from the menu though :( read more
It was 8pm when we got there. Half the place was kinda of closed off, they were already sweeping the floors. The middle area the chair are already on the tables like they were closing. The two staff members there was very ready to go home and sort of friendly. I was hoping for more options and desserts too. I ended up getting orange fantasy. Boba milk tea is one of my favorite foods, and I was excited to see a new boba spot pop up in Midtown! This boba shop is located in small plaza right next to The Dinersaur (which is a great place to get your sweet fix for pastries!) and Original Hamburger Works. There is plenty of parking in a private lot behind the complex. The shop itself has a very spacious + clean interior, and there's lots of cute neon signs and decorations throughout the shop consistent with the yellow and white color scheme of the logo. Additionally, if you want to sit and work inside, there's ample seating and some outlets available. I got the boba milk tea (you can only adjust to 25% sugar + ice), and it was ok! The boba was soft and chewy, but it wasn't coated in enough sugar syrup, so it was a little tasteless. The milk tea itself was good, however! Overall, although this isn't my go-to spot, I would come back to try their HK desserts and takoyaki, or I would stop by if I'm craving milk tea and don't want to make the drive down to Tempe. read more

Used to drive all the way to Mesa to get this. So glad they opened a Miss Dessert in Phoenix. The basis of comparison that use to compare boba places is milk tea with boba. This place hits. Consistent boba in terms or chewiness and flavor and the milk tea is legit. So def come here if you're a milk tea boba fan. I have cravings for the Yoji Cup, but it has disappointed me with suboptimal sago texture in the past. Kinda ruins the dessert. But, when it's good it's good. The Durian dessert is refreshing. You gotta be a fan or durian though (fair warning, it's not for everyone) read more

If you've never been here before, I'd recommend the Mega Fruit Tea or strawberry matcha smash or milk tea with purple sticky rice. - I know it's the same owners as the original one in Mesa but I like the Mesa location better. I think the flavors are lacking a little bit at the Phoenix location. I still come here because it's closer to drive to when I don't want to go to Mesa. read more
On my way grabbing lunch, I couldn't resist not to have dessert too. I usually order the mega fruit tea but decided tryout something different. I was told the Yoji Cup ($6.83) was the mango sago dessert in a cup. Unfortunately, no sugar level customization. There was a bunch of sago in the cup. I didn't taste much of the mango flavor. I would probably order the bowl version with mango chucks next time. read more

Really friendly staff, but just not my style of drink. The milk teas are all pre-made with non-dairy creamer which I don't care for. Oat milk is an option for other drinks- the version they use here is really thick and creamy. I tried the brown sugar latte, requested less sweet, but it was still too sweet for me. Some of the boba were cooked well and other pieces were still too hard. If I return, I'd try the fruit teas instead. read more

Having unlimited access to boba spots in the Bay Area (like every corner in San Jose), we know good boba spots and bad boba spots. I would put Miss Dessert in the "good boba" spot. If Miss Dessert was in The Bay Area, I think it would be able to survive out there. There is so much competition out there. I tried the Lychee Oolong extra sweet w/ Cream Cheese Top and boba. I'm glad I got it extra sweet because the sweetness level was perfect for me. For those wondering, it wasn't helllllllllla sweet. Definitely sweeter than some ice cream. Next time I go, I'm going to get the purple rice topping instead of boba. I've had purple rice with a milk tea and a creamy drink once and it was amazing. I definitely recommend you boba lovers to try that. Also ordered the Cocomo dessert and it was delicious. Like a pudding with mini and regular sized boba textured balls with mango. That's for sure a must have. The service was great. Helpful and very welcoming. The place was very spacious, yellow, and a pretty nice lay out. For my California people, this is definitely a good spot imo. read more

Didn't get my usual of 0% sugar, but the liquid is surprisingly not overwhelmingly sweet. Perfect place to stop by after dinner, going to try their purple sticky rice next. read more

So happy to have Miss Dessert in Phoenix! This location is HUGE! Absolutely perfect for groups to sit down & enjoy their drinks/dessert. Please keep in mind they just opened and are still figuring everything out, so be patient and don't be afraid to let them know if they made any mistakes. Employees were really welcoming & quick to get our order ready! We love getting their classic milk tea and the mango-a-gogo! So refreshing & perfect for the summer heat! read more

Found this little hidden gem on Google!! Their drinks are super refreshing and they had authentic HK desserts ! So I definitely had to try one. The space is cute, minimal but pleasing. I love grapefruit, the fantasy drink is green tea based, got about 75% sugar. Sooooo good esp on hot summer days like this. The snow series were good but I wish it was actually shaved ice, it was already melted and watered down so it's more like a cold icy coconut drink instead of like the shaved ice dessert that i was expecting. Regardless it was still very good. Def recommend to check this place out ! read more

Been to Mesa location for many times and I love the C1. Miss Dessert Signature Yoji Nectar so much. That's why when I knew that there is a new location in Phoenix, I didn't hesitate coming However the Yoji Nectar texture is so different (a little bit more frozen) and mango seems to be a bit too sour. Anyway, still one of the best place in Az to try dessert and hope that they can fix the signature item read more

Omg the mega fruit tea... it's a delicious combo of tangy passion fruit with sweet watermelon. So so good. My friend got the strawberry matcha slush which tasted more creamy than sweet. She wanted more strawberry added. I've tried the lychee w/ cheese foam and wasn't a huge fan, tasted similar to a regular sweet black tea. But add the cheese foam to the mega fruit tea and you won't be disappointed! Love this place. Super cute inside as well. read more
