It's time to do a review. Been here many times now. Upon walking in it's weird sometimes. You have to make yourself known that you're there from then to acknowledge you. Does the service get better after? Well... that all depends on if the sky is blue and if you know your zodiac sign so an asparagus lol. Service is really a hit or miss. Decor and atmosphere? Old, needs remodeling. Paint peeling, old chairs, bad flooring etc. So does the food make up for it? Yes. The food definitely makes up for it and I'll tell you why. Fresh ingredients. Proper amount of portions. Great bagels! definitely check it out. read more

Small but yummy bagel shop. I was visiting the area! It's the only place that I have found in town where I can get a salt bagel, which is my favorite... these are not like New York bagels, but they are a nice bagel that you can enjoy on a Sunday morning for breakfast. The ladies who operate the shop are super nice and quick. This spot is a little family owned business. their main focus is obviously the bagels. they did have a wide variety but I wasn't really into how pale and artificial the flavored bagels looked. the teas here are delicious. 5th Ave. Bagelry, at 1210 Magnolia Ave. Suite 101 in Corona, was inspected Aug. 18 and received a failing grade of 80/B. There was one critical violation, for food-contact surfaces not being clean: The person in charge thought a pile of dirty plastic bowls on the food-prep table were clean enough to use, and dishes weren't being washed properly. Among the 11 other violations, there were numerous flies landing on food and food equipment, several employees didn't wash hands correctly, some food was at unsafe temperatures and the person in charge said knives used to cut bagel sandwiches are washed only once a day (every four hours is required) read more

My limited review is based solely on service. Smells and looks great but I'm the only customer in there for about 3 minutes at the counter. 0 acknowledgement. I then get asked what I'd like I said an egg and cheese (and asked what kind of bagel is this) in the display along with all the other ones but it doesn't have a sign saying what it is. With an attitude replies "we don't sell those!" Doesn't answer my question nonetheless so I rhetorically ask "you don't sale bagels?" Just said thank you and left. Some people aren't meant to work in customer facing roles. If I employed her we'd both be looking for jobs soon. read more

I was craving some bagel and wanted to try a new place out. 5th ave Bagelry has some a variety of options to add to your bagel. I got the specialty bagel sandwich with the works as the bagel which has the top coated with a tons of yummy seeds. The bagel comes with pastrami, red onions, tomatoes, pickles, cheese, and bean sprouts. The meat was nice and soft and had good flavor all the other ingredients paired well with each other. They also have some good smoothies and slushees and coffee. I am now happy to be able to have a good bagel place to go to that's close by to me. Hope this place stays. read more

Hate having to give this place even one star... Walked in to two workers, no greeting. Notice the most horrific handwritten sign where the word "bagles" is written twice when it's properly printed as "bagel" all over the store... This worried me so I inspected the bagels and I'm glad I did. They were all pale and definitely undercooked. Every. Single. Batch. Walked out and will never return to this disgrace of a bagelry. Be careful, bought a plain bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. The cream cheese was sour, tasted like alcohol. Called them to notify them and they have no customer service etiquette at all. Didn't apologize or offer how to make it right, just silence over the phone from them. So I requested a refund, she said to stop by the same day for refund and said she was busy and had to go. Went in to request my refund, again, no acknowledgment at all, not a word. Silence as they simply opened the register and just handed over refund. No apology. Obviously won't be returning. read more

I got the smoked brown sugar latte which was tasty. If you taste the foam by itself it's very smokey but with the drink it's well balanced. Another reviewer mentioned "coffee grounds" in their drink - pretty sure these are particles from the syrup/smokey flavor. I had them too and drank them, weren't bitter at all so pretty sure they aren't coffee grounds. I also got a croissant which I would agree with another reviewer was a bit dry, possibly a day old. Somewhat limited menu which I hope they expand in the future. Paid about $13 for coffee and pastry. There is a 3% surcharge for credit card. Unfortunately seating is somewhat limited and not the most comfy. Probably a maximum of 20 people can sit inside at once with one small table outside. There are tons of outlets accessible from every seat and they even have extension cords set up for customers. It's moderate to loud and the music/vibe is more rock and grunge. Very friendly service. Small parking lot but street parking available, no time limits. Currently NO bathroom available. Free WiFi available. You can study/work here briefly given the WiFi and outlets but can't stay longer given lack of bathroom and limited seating They sell merch including beans from Iron & Kin for $22 with a roast date within 1 month. The Cookie Monster milkshake tasted like banana water. It seemed like it had been sitting for hours, it was so watery. Also, didn't taste any cookie. The bubblegum was good, but lack luster. The one thing great is the price. $6 for one scoop, the scoop is very large. It could have been great with bubblegum pieces in the bubblegum, maybe some sprinkles on top. The coffee, maybe some coffee nibs or chocolate chips inside. The milkshake was honestly terrible. Also, the menu doesn't include any descriptions of what's in the ice cream flavors, this would be extremely helpful (especially because I don't think most would expect Cookie Monster to taste like banana). Ultimately disappointing. I wanted to love it. They could improve a lot if they want business from places like Yogurt-land, Baskin Robbin's, Cold Stone, or just the plain old grocery store.

Free WiFi was also available with the information available right at the table. There's not a restroom within the store but it's a brief walk outside. When browsing their menu, I was particularly interested in their coffee flight. However, I didn't think I'd had enough time to enjoy that so I got their light roast drip coffee. It took about 5 minutes for this to be ready. Coffee was insanely hot but this was to be expected since it was a fresh batch. It was some strong coffee and even kept me up later that night lol. Overall, it was a nice discovery. I liked the atmosphere of the shop. I was able to get some reading done since it wasn't too loud. There was a lot of natural lighting coming through the windows. Wow, this place is absolutely delicious. I got the big bird specialty bagel sandwich which comes with Roasted turkey, cheese, tomato, onion, and lettuce on a garlic bagel. This was absolutely delicious. I was a little skeptical about the garlic bagel but I really liked it and it had really really good flavor. I would definitely recommend going to this place but if you are going to you have to get there early because when I got there around 12 in the afternoon they were almost completely sold out with only two bagels left one for me and one for my friend. This place has a really nice ambience. The staff is really kind and friendly and the service is amazing. Very quick and efficient. read more

THE BEST BAGELS IN THE CITY!!!!! I am so lucky that my girlfriend's family lives near here so I get to have it pretty often even though I live all the way in OC. I even bring them back to my family in korea when I visit them. The bagels are perfectly crispy on the outside and as chewy and dense as a bagle should be in the inside. The line gets pretty crazy, esp. on weekend mornings but its moves fast because the workers are so efficient. They aren't there to chat or be friendly but are very efficient. They are in a very small strip mall with a small lot so parking is limited. There is some street parking on the side streets relatively close by. They (the bakery) either also have a deli or it is merely adjoined to it. Seating is limited in both areas, but probably more capacity than the lot permits. The people in both the bakery and deli were super friendly. They have a good selection of donuts/bakery products. Their baked goods are very sweet. The apple fritter was super sweet, but you could still taste the apples. It was crunchy on the outer ring and soft in the center--just the way a good fritter should be. The blueberry fritter had a different shape from a traditional apple fritter, but similar texture and sweetness to the apple. You could barely taste the blueberries. The banana fritter was similar in size, sweetness, and texture to the blueberry and so not a traditional fritter like the apple. Overall, the apple was best on this visit, but all three are worth a try. The bacon-maple curler was better than the blueberry and banana fritters, but the apple fritter is still my favorite. Their powdered sugar donut holes are about standard. They were fine, but not as good as the other items. They are also not as sweet, so are a good option if you want a smaller portion and/or something not too sweet--you can order them by the piece. Only strange thing was the bathroom. The deli needs to buzz you into the toilet and once inside then you need to press a button on the wall to buzz yourself out! The area does not look like it, but guess they must have a major homeless problem to do such a thing. At any rate, this was an awesome bakery that was worth the super long drive to go try. According to other Yelpers who live nearby, they do sell out of various items as the day goes on. So if planning to go later in the day, call ahead earlier and ask them to save what you want for you--I did this and they saved the three fritter types for me. They had plenty when I arrived, but would have been super bummed to drive so far to get nothing if they had run out. If you are in the area and want a sweet treat, definitely check these guys out!

We got regular glazed, old fashion, two types of blueberry donuts, a tiger tail, a cookie and cream (which was very small), a sprinkle donuts, a chocolate donut and a crumble donut. Definitely a variety to try. The total of $27 something (extra charge for card). The banana fritter is good. There's a slight artificial after taste after a few bites but it's still a good fritter. The rest of the donuts were good too, basic and simple for the kids. I didn't see any ham and cheese and jalapeño ham and cheese croissants, just regular plain ones. The store is small but had a decent layout. The display window had a variety of bagels so you could pick and choose what looked good to you. The confusing thing was the menu board TV screen kept rotating images and the prices for the bagels rotated from $2.00 to $2.50 to $3.00. Then when I ordered my Jalapeño Cheese bagel it turned out to be $3.50! It kind of felt like they were tricking customers with the lower prices being shown. The total price for this was over $6.50 for just a bagel and cream cheese which is on the higher end for this product. Oh well. At least the jalapeño cheese bagel with cream cheese was good. It was chewy and very bready. If you like your bagel more toasted then I would recommend you ask for that. It reminded me very much of a softer jalapeño cheese Wetzel pretzel if you have had that. It wasn't similar to a classic New York bagel, but it was very tasty in a different way. I'd come back.

I usually like to buy halal because of cleanliness standards but then how did the sticker make it in if it was cleaned?
