We really like the skewers and the beef slices in chilli oil. The service is alright. When you first sit down, they give you aprons. However when our friends arrived, they didn't give them aprons. And the bag it came in was super high quality material with insulation to keep your food warm. 10000/10 for packaging. Note only some food come in aluminum such as the noodles. This place was quiet a surprise. I am not into spicy food so I was hesitant to go to a Sichuan restaurant. Luckily, their options are not all about spicy. On entering we were told to sit anywhere we would like. The table we chose by the window turned out to be too cold due to the vent. They had not problem with us moving. As this was our first visit, the server too the time to explain the menu and choices to us. Before eating, you are offered a wipe to clean your hands. We had a variety of things. All the dishes came out hot. We were also offered a plastic bib. Sichuan spicy soup base with beef lover skewer: Beef strips and beef ball skewers. All the beef was tender and easy to eat. The base is truly spicy. Bell Dumplings: taste 'homemade'. The dough was nice and thin. The dumplings were delicate and enjoyable. I feel however, they could have just a bit more filling. Deep Fried Tofu with Garlic Sauce: Yum. I could make a whole meal of these. The tofu was fresh and juicy. The sauce has a sweet undertone and it was the perfect compliment to the tofu, not overpowering. Chongqing Crispy Pork: Fried perfectly. Very tender with good seasoning. There was a slight note of orange flavour - at least to me, which was quite interesting. Not too spicy, just a hint. Dandan Noodles: The noodles were good. Just the right amount of chewiness. Good flavour. The minced pork is very fine and I feel could be a bit more but still good. At the end of the meal, you are offered a candy and a small pack of mouthwash. (also posted on Google) This Sichuan restaurant was so good, I came here twice in two days. I had to bring more friends to share and try more dishes. This location is in downtown on Yonge Street. Upon entering, you can sit anywhere you want. The booth chairs are fun, but a bit odd to eat over the table. The server was very friendly. He would come back to ask if we were doing ok. Dishes I would get again: -Water boil fish. This broth was so good that I actually drank it with rice (despite all the chili oil). This is spicy and so flavorful. It's not for the faint of heart. Actually, if you don't like spicy or numbing food, maybe Sichuan isn't for you. -Crispy chicken. This was made with chicken breast, and I never loved chicken breast more. -Crispy pork. This was cut into smaller, thinner pieces. It was easier to eat. I love the flavor/fragrance. -Fried tofu. This is really good as an appetizer. Dan dan noodles were on the salty side for me. It's good to try, but I wouldn't get it again. The water boil beef had too much oil (more than the fish version), and the beef was too tough. The menu is repetitive, so it's a bit confusing. Summerlicious - 2024 ($35) Its very easy to say the vibes and food are good here, but what I greatly appreciated was the transparency for the portion sizes here. We were informed by the waiter that multiple diners prior to us were unable to finish 1 persons worth of food and advised us to split the menu between the 2 of us. I love the integrity behind those words as its not just money oriented. We chose assorted beef skewers, dumplings, deep fried tofu, and some other dishes pictured below. Saw all the Yelpers going to this event and noticed that part of their dessert menu is the mochi (black sesame filling) with kinako and brown sugar - had to try it! Added on the other cooling dessert (che, as we would call it in Vietnamese) and it contained jelly, watermelon, raisin, hawthorn berry (crushed), mango boba - refreshing! I'm no stranger to Miss Fu in Chengdu. My first experience was at a Yelp event, but since then, I've revisited and brought some friends who hadn't tried this spot yet. The food offers incredible value, especially given its central location downtown near Yorkville. They also have a location in North York. I've tried a variety of items, and the crispy tofu has kept me coming back just for it. At only $5.99 for a long tray of crispy tofu with a kick of spice, a great deal. My partner and I are usually quite timid when it comes to Szechuan spice, so we tend to avoid Szechuan spots due to not liking numbing sensation. However, if you order carefully and choose broths that aren't spicy, you should be fine. On this visit, we ordered both the dan dan noodles and their new cold Szechuan noodles. My partner and I enjoyed the subtly comforting warm dan dan noodles, while the server and my other friends preferred the tang and spice of the Szechuan noodles. We had the chicken broth skewers with little spice and no numbing. We also ordered a second bowl with spicy broth. Although we can handle the mild spicy numbing bowl, we agreed that the chicken broth was the tastier choice. We might have been better off with no spice in the chicken broth, as we detected a slight numbing effect but still tasty and we could handle it. The brothy skewers also included melon, veggies, and enoki mushrooms swimming in the broth, so make sure to scoop some out to enjoy. Although I didn't order a drink on this occasion, I recommend getting the slush drink as it helps cool down the heat from spicy food. We also enjoyed their new cold long beans that come with a sweet soy flavour. Overall, it's definitely a worth it experience especially if you enjoy spice and if you're not too familiar or not into numbing spice, you still have some great options at this spot. read more

We had the Deep-fried Tofu with Garlic Sauce, Chongqing Crispy Pork, Bell Dumplings, Dan Dan Noodles and the Beef Lover Skewers served with Sichuan Peppercorn and Spicy soup base. My friend had randomly stumbled upon this restaurant on yonge and isabella street a while ago and took us all back as she said it was amazing...and she was not lying! It's an authentic Sichuan restaurant that specializes in different skewers however we just ordered a bunch of small side dishes and they were all delicious. We got the sour and hot noodles, Dan Dan noodles (made vegetarian), smashed cucumbers, chicken wings, dumplings, brown rice and sesame paste mochi balls, and a side of rice. I came here with my mom on a Friday evening without reservations and got seated right away. We ordered the Seafood skewers, spicy wontons, and dan dan noodles to share. It was a lot of food for two people, so I'd recommend just ordering two dishes since the skewers were a lot. The dan dan noodles weren't my favorite (2/5), I thought they were pretty bland. It had a little spice to it, which I wasn't expecting, so I didn't necessarily enjoy it. The seafood skewers were good (3/5) but it had a lot of repeat seafood (ie. fish cake, imitation crab meat, octopus, etc). I would say the quality of seafood wasn't the highest. I think the only "real" seafood was the octopus and the shrimp. The broth is also really spicy, so be prepared for that, because I wasn't. The last dish we got was the spicy wontons (3/5). It was good but I didn't like the spicy sauce. Overall, if you like Szechuan spicy, you'd love this place. But I don't like it, and wasn't expecting that type of spice at this restaurant since it wasn't really advertised that way. At least, I didn't interpret it that way. Miss Fu in Chengdu is the hottest spot for hot pot that I've come across in Toronto! The deep fried tofu alone is worth a visit, and if you share a broth (you'll want to, there's so much you can't possibly finish it yourself), I recommend pouring any leftover garlic sauce from the tofu into the bowl, it's just that good! My friend and I ordered the medium spicy chicken broth, and it had the perfect amount of kick! They changed the ordering system from the last time I dined here, swapping the pen and paper menu for a QR code that allows you to order from your phone. Instead of chairs, our table was surrounded by couches, which were a little low for the height of the table, but comfortable to lean back on once we'd eaten our weight in food. For everything Miss Fu offers, the price point is extremely reasonable. I look forward to dining here again soon! read more

I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed coming here! the skewers in hot pot were my favourite, I liked how you could choose them- I got a good variety of seafood and meat and they were very tender. I also got some appetizers like crispy pork and bell pork dumplings. there were not a lot of meat in the dumplings but still tasty. The staff are super friendly and are accommodating in terms of answering questions and taking food orders if you are not comfortable using the qr code. Popular chinese chain restaurant specialising in Sichuan food. Chengdu is a great place to visit in China but if you can't make it there this place will bring the food to you. Unfortunately due to my personal tastes, I struggled to eat here as their mildly spicy was the limit of my spice tolerance. But everyone I ate with loved the food. We got a hot and sour glass noodle bowl, a bunch of skewers hotpot, and some deep fried mochi desserts. All tasted quite authentic. The price is a bit more than a typical cheaper Chinese restaurant but the service is also much better than most Chinese restaurants. The staff could easily be waved down, they would come refill water, and were generally very pleasant. I really liked how their chairs were comfy sofas and couches. I'm not one of those people able to take pleasure in extremely spicy food, so I'll preface this review by saying that I'm probably not the exact target customer for this restaurant. Our group ordered one each of the mild and spicy soup bases, along with some appetizers and desserts. The latter received fairly positive feedback around the table. The former was, unfortunately, absolutely tasteless. It's like they forgot salt even existed after using chillies. The "special snacks" were also a hit or miss. You would think it's rather difficult to screw up fried chicken wings (called "Flaming Volcano Wings" on the menu), but it turns out that's not the case at all, as these were so dry we couldn't stomach them. The wonton in soup, on the other hand, was surprisingly flavourful, with a creamy, slightly spicy broth. I also loved one of their desserts - the Fu's jelly with brown sugar sauce - the description on the menu did not do it justice! The refreshingly sweet jelly was mixed with various toppings like raisins and red bean to create a delectable mixture of textures. Do not be deceived by the seemingly low price of a single skewer, for each of them contained literally 1 piece of the ingredient, and they were the smallest mushroom/quail egg/fish cake, etc. I've ever seen. Along with the cost of the soup base it does add up. Service was not bad, the waitstaff were friendly enough. The restaurant itself looked new and the atmosphere was nice for an evening out, although the music was a bit too loud. If you're a huge fan of spice, this place is worth checking out. Otherwise, I'd recommend hitting up one of the numerous hot pot restaurants instead - it's basically the same thing, with more variety in ingredients and without the wooden stick. read more

This place offers mediocre food and the price is not cheap. They offer skewers which is street food as well as appetizer dishes, not a formal dinner place. You need to spend $50+ to be full for their snack food which is not cheap. We tried their skewers and they are quite mediocre (you need to get dozens to be filling coz each skewer there's just one or two pieces of food). All their side dishes are soaked with lots of MSG and spicy pepper and oil. Especially the rabbit dish is extremely spicy which makes your stomach on fire but there are only some bones inside other than the spicy peppers. The spicy chicken is one of the normal dish to eat. Portions are quite small. Paid $9 for a small bowl of Dan Dan noodles which was slightly spicy but had some fragrant crispy pork. Noodles were bouncy. The beef skewer set came with small pieces of beef attached to a long skewer. All the skewers were served dunked in your soup base of choice and in a large bowl. FYI spicy chicken and beef skewers go for only $0.60 per piece! We went with the mild spicy soup broth and although I usually like szhn asian peppercorns and it wasn't spicy in my mouth but my stomach really felt it after. I guess I'm just not used to it! It definitely has a bit of numbing feeling but taste wise it was just okay. The thinly sliced potatoes were delicious. Service took a while and I found that I always had to wait a while to get attention or even to get drinks or refills. We waited halfway through our meal until we got our drinks. I also didn't like how our table was seated right next to the ac so I was shivering! I thought the spicy food would keep me warm but was not the case haha. The place seemed to be newly renovated, with modern interior design and trendy seating. The staff were nice and attentive. The food was said being specialized on chuanchuan, complimented with small plates. SuRou was the favorite of our table. Crispy outside and still tender and juicy inside.
