I ordered take out and all I have to say is this: DISGUSTING. Let me preface by saying that I am from Minnesota where there is the 2nd largest population of Southeast Asians in the country- so there are TONS of Pho restaurants and ingredients imported straight from the source. With that being said... I was excited to maybe find a decent Pho place here in Miami and by the reviews and pictures, figured I'd give Miss Saigon a try. So gross. The noodles were waaayyy over cooked (and did arrive separate from the broth, so it wasn't an issue of the broth continuing the cook en route) and thus they were about 3-4 inches long. Not the long pull and chewy goodness I expect from pho. But okay, pho is about the broth and the meats. I got the pho Miss Saigon (meatball, lean flank, brisket and tendon) but it also had tripe, which I really dislike. The meat was the problem. It tasted like play-dough. The broth, I could tell before even adding it to the noodles, was bland (the color was watered down apple juice, NOT the rich, umami dark brown/amber color it should be) and lacked the aromatics and complex flavors that makes pho pho. But it tasted like play-dough. The noodles, the meat, it all just permeated a play-dough taste. I hate wasting food so I tried to force feed myself as much as I could but after spitting out 3 mouthfuls, I just threw it away. Because it tasted like play-dough. Also, the broth leaked and spilled all over the plastic bag it came in, so I had to first siphon as much broth out of the plastic bag and into the soup bowl as I could before I could even eat it. The wine selection (basically one label option with white or red) was not optimal to say the least when the glass of wine showed up with lips imprinted on the glass, you gotta clean those lips off the glasses, strike one. The summer roll...shrimp barely visible, with pork (? That's a first for me) and the lettuce shaving not really crispy fresh ...strike 2. My girlfriend's fried rice...was a pasty looking rice (overly oiled), she took one bite and was about to run out, strike 3. I had the Miss Saigon Pho, less the tripe and tendons and it was good and flavorful. As a result I'm giving you two stars. If we wouldn't have driven 30 minutes to get to you perhaps I wouldn't have even left the review, but seeing all the 5 star reviews?...I'm not buying it. read more

So excited Miss Saigon reopened. We finally made it out and I can't say enough about how delicious everything was. Started with Shrimp chips and a summer roll. The main was the chicken lemongrass curry. Ordered it with extra sauce and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and fast which is greatly appreciated. Placed multiple orders through DoorDash and the food had arrived quickly and tasted freshly made. Summer rolls are refreshing served with a delicious peanut sauce that you don't need much of. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee (iced coffee with condensed milk) with the black boba. 10/10 it was so good and perfect pick me up. I was stuck between ordering the regular grilled pork and the bbq pork. I ended up going for the bbq pork per the employee's recommendation. The pork itself was soft and tender. The roll was also soft and fresh. Something was missing and i can't think of what it is. It didn't have the strong cilantro flavor that banh mi usually does, or maybe a sauce was missing? Finally made it here for a papaya salad. I absolutely love them and once I heard they put an extra touch on there's I had to try. So we started with the spring rolls which were absolutely delicious and crunchy and jusy full of flavor. We had 3 pieces each and still wanted more. You have to try them and they come with this clear sauce that's sweet but gives it the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The papaya salad caught me a little off guard as they add pork and mint to there's. I opted to 86 the pork but keep the mint. I won't lie at first I wasn't feeling it at all. But once I added a little extra heat to it ( BTW they add no heat unless requested and the number goes up to 8) and mixed it all up it was really good. It also came with shrimp chips to help keep the heat to a distance. Service was swift and friendly and you sit where you want. I was out and about with my family and we got hungry. My kids love Asian food so we decided to stop in at Miss Saigon. We started with the clam appetizer. This was a fan favorite. Everyone at the table enjoyed it. It had a delicious taste. We all wanted more. For my main meal I had the pad Thai. It had a good balance of flavor a little dry but still good. My kids had the seafood pho which they said the broth was delicious. My son-in-law had the beef pho which he also said had really good broth. We all enjoyed ourselves. The food at Miss Saigon left much to be desired but the service was very friendly and welcoming. We came by for dinner recently and the restaurant was not very busy. There is a selection of Asian buns and other baked goods along one of the walls. Service was very friendly, but the food came out very slowly given that we were one of two parties in the restaurant at the time. There were two servers that appeared to be in training. They were very sweet but a bit awkward. I think this spot opened recently though so that is understandable. The food was so expensive, I was shocked. $18 for beef pho?!! I ordered the miss Saigon bowl and tried a bite of the chicken salad, banh xeo, summer rolls, and dac biet banh mi as well. The pho broth was not super beefy and was cloudier than I expected. The aromatics were nice but the noodles were over cooked, as if they had been sitting in the bowl a bit too long before they were brought out to us. The major problem, however, was that the tendon tasted totally funky! I was not able to eat it and had to take it out of my bowl. The other meats were good. The banh mi was oddly bland, and the bread was very tough, though it had a good amount of filling. The owner of the restaurant came out to explain the banh xeo to us, and even offered to cut it up. The oil it was fried in was not fresh, and the surface was unevenly cooked with some burnt bits. The dipping sauce was very light on fish sauce, I think it could have used a bit more. The summer rolls were good, very light and nicely rolled. The sauce was more hoisin forward than peanut forward, but was good regardless. Because the price and the long wait, I didn't have the best experience at Miss Saigon. I did hear the owner speaking to another table and providing excellent service, so I can tell she is great at interacting with customers, especially those that have not had Vietnamese food before. After years of being closed this famous restaurant re-opened near Palmetto Bay on Colonial Drive. I was so happy!! The service is exceptional & the food is still top Notch Vietnamese!! The sauce was like a fine-tuned orchestra of flavors with the perfect balance of tangy, salty, and sweet. The bean sprouts and carrots added a nice texture. Our lunch was topped off with a doughnut like dessert which was deep-fried sweet dough and a sweet dipping sauce. Just realized that this restaurant opened near me and couldn't be happier. Ordered the Pho raw beef soup, crispy spring roll (2pcs.) and a regular Thai tea my favorite go to drink to go. Got instructions on how to prep my soup at home and loved the flavors and additions with mint, culantro, raw beef, jalapeños, chili sauce, and hunan sauce to add to the soup with bean sprouts and vermicelli noodles. Loved it and highly recommend this place plus the owner and servers are so enthusiastic to just allow you to have that experience even at home for my take away. So happy that we discovered Miss Saigon had reopened in this spot! The owners recognized us and greeted us warmly! The mango slushie was a delicious and refreshing drink that was bursting with flavor. We skipped appetizers knowing that the Bun noodle bowls would fill us up and satisfy our long lost cravings! The vermicelli noodles with bean sprouts, mint, grilled pork, spring roll, and shrimp in a sumptuous sauce is everything you need and more!!!
