It's a shame it took me this long to visit Tam Tam, the place is worth all the hype. I want to thank Val for making our dining experience so pleasant and for her amazing recommendations. We loved all the food, but were particularly surprised by the flavor of the tartare, scallop crudo, and the chicken wings. The lotus salad provided a perfect balance for the sweet and tangy wings, and the tartare was probably one of the best we have had. All the flavors were there, a party in your mouth, literally. Our only regret is that we didn't go soon enough to try the tamarind ribs (they are no longer part of the menu). The portions are shareable, and the tapas style truly adds to the experience. What an experience. I had heard about Tam Tam from friends and had been on my radar for a while. This is a place for which you basically need a reservation, and they are not easy to come by. We ended up visiting at 5:30 p.m. to be able to grab a spot, and since before the restaurant opens, you can see people waiting for their reservations. You are first greeted at a window outside the restaurant, and as soon as you walk in, you are transported. The music, the decor, the aromas -- it feels like you are someplace else. A great atmosphere to enjoy a meal with your partner or with small groups of friends. I do want to highlight that the service was spotless since that first greeting at the window, to getting you to your table, going over the menu, and explaining the concept; they made sure we had a great experience throughout the meal. But what really sets Tam Tam apart is the food. The menu is short but accommodating, with options for everyone. Small dishes go for around $20 each, while large dishes go for around $40; you can expect to spend around $40-50 per person on food. We tried the Lotus salad, the Shimeji Mushroom, the wings, and the "wrap situation". I would say they were all +4.5 stars. Each of the dishes offered a unique flavor profile, not only amongst them but also from other restaurants you will try, making it truly a remarkable experience. I've wanted to try Tam Tam for a while now and it definitely lived up to the happy hour accolades! We started with some Thai basil margaritas and a yuzu strawberry spritz. For our visit, we tried their: * Scallop pomelo crudo - refreshing due to the citrus notes of the pomelo which is accented by the use of coconut milk. Scallops were fresh and sweet. * Shimeji mushroom - hearty appetizer with a fairly strong dill flavour; not overpowering but also not for everyone * Tam Tam wings - 5 large crispy split wings in a sweet and sticky caramel sauce. (So 2.5 whole wings, per order). Definitely suggest squeezing in the lime juice provided for an extra taste of Vietnam. My 6 year old loved.it so much we doubled up on the order :-) * Lamb wrap situation - it's more than your usual lettuce wrap! The only reason this is 4 stars is because I didn't have a chance to eat at Tam Tam proper; this review is actually for the Lunar New Year festival block party they put together this last Sunday. I met up with a bunch of friends and we enjoyed the culinary & cultural offerings. Since I'm allergic to seafood, I was just able to taste the chicken yakoitori skewers which were made fresh and tasted delicious. I did get to indulge their liquor, with my favorite being the "ca phe sua da" coffee liqueur (Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk & whiskey). The Lucky Money - green tea infused gin - was another indulgence that I might've had once or twice as well as sake shots off the horse ice sculpture. We were in Miami for the Lunar New Year block party hosted by Tam Tam. Great vibe and energy with Dj, Live band and Dragon Dance show. We enjoyed the sampler for the event which was the Pho and their famous Tam Tam chicken wings. These wings were so yummy crispy with the fish sauce caramel, garlic, cilantro and lime. We initially weren't able to get a reservation - but when I looked that morning, I was able to grab one for right when they open - and I'm glad I did, as there was already a line out the door and the spot is a bit small. Amazing. As soon as I saw this place in my Miami research for an upcoming trip, I knew I was coming. As a Vietnamese person, the menu screamed contemporary, flavorful, and new, and I wanted to try all of it. The host was friendly and prepped us for a 30 minute wait that ended up lasting maybe 10. It may have helped that we weren't too picky about spots and ended up getting seats at the bar, which gave us easy access to the already attentive bartenders. I was hearing songs that I hadn't heard in years (decades!) and couldn't believe I was recognizing these hits from my childhood. That alone set the atmosphere for what Tam Tam was trying to create: a modern vibe with layers of true Vietnamese-American culture while still using traditional Vietnamese flavors. It was truly a great way to enjoy and connect with the ambiance in a way that I hadn't anywhere else ever before. -Grilled oysters: delicious. Came out covered in a delicious hollandaise and some scallion oil. Savory and unique. -Grilled escarole: this is an outdated review, so I don't think this is on the menu anymore which is a damn shame because this was my favorite dish. After two days of unsatisfactory food hunting in Miami, we finally had a good meal at Tam Tam. I'm generally not a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, especially after many tries of different Vietnamese restaurants across North America. However, Tam Tam is the one place that completely changed my opinion! The reservation is usually open a couple of weeks ahead and it's better to book early. The restaurant was cozy with several bar seats and some table seats around the bar. The renovation was very traditional Southeast Asian style and low profile. We ordered their signature chicken wings, mushroom, scallop crudo and lamb wrap situation. Every single dish impressed me in different way and it was hard to pick a favourite dish! - Scallop crudo is really fresh and has an interesting flavour. I really like the coconut flavour of this dish. It demonstrates the soul of Southeast Asian cuisine. - Chicken wings also have a special sweet flavour with the fish sauce, which is a commonly used sauce in addition to coconut milk in Southeast Asian cuisine. The wings are crispy and tender, with right amount of breading. We placed an extra order (5 wings per order). - Shimeji mushroom is a small refreshing and creative dish by the chef. I would never imagine dill would go so well with mushroom. Suitable for hot weather in Miami. - Lamb wrap situation is a dish like the restaurant itself: Ordinary in apprarance, rich in substance. We are provided with six pieces of lamb skewers/pine apples/lettuce wraps/cucumbers/peppers and are told to use one piece of each ingredient per wrap. For the sauce, we are provided with chili oil and sweet garlic sauce (they are considerate that my kid doesn't eat spicy). After first bite, we all fall in love with this dish. I'm impressed once again by the chef's imagination of flavouring. All the ingredients just mingle so well together and the lamb doesn't have any gamey smell and is very tender. But recently I have the pleasure of going to TamTam (Michelin Star Restaurant) and my goodness what a treat. From the lotus salad, grilled Parmesan oysters, to the sticky gooey delicious tamarind short ribs, to their world famous crunchy sweet garlic/lime wings, (which were the best wings I've ever had), to finally they're delicious lamb lettuce wraps were perfectly cooked, and savory. Had a Resy, but they needed more time - and that's even when they have a table time limit! Ended up at the bar, which was great service wise but a little uncomfortable with no back rest. The food is outstanding. Started with the curry scallop dish which had amazing flavors and some citrus elements. Proceeded with the tamarind ribs, which was cooked and flavored perfectly. Not too sweet. Fall of the bone flavor. Ended with the lamb lettuce wraps. It's a deconstructed dish you put together. I felt the lamb cooked perfectly. I stopped in for a spontaneous (late for me) dinner without reservations. Waited for about 20 mins or so but there was ample seating outside which is fcfs. My friend and I shared the lamb wrap situation and it really hit the spot! I took a pic of the chairs cuz it fit the vibe of if you were somewhere in Asia. lol read more

Absolutely incredible. My partner and I came here around 10:20PM on Saturday and were seated at the bar right away. The vibe is super chill but the food was all presented beautifully and the flavors were on point. We started with the scallop pomello goi; super fresh melting your mouth scallops with a super flavorful sauce (they give you a spoon to get all of it). Next we got the tam tam wings which were fried perfectly. The last two small plates we got were the bone marrow and the shimeji mushrooms. The bone marrow came with toast that was slightly charred and super crispy, allowing the bone marrow to really melt in it. For the large plate we ordered the lamb situation. The lamb came in small kebab pieces and all of the toppings/fillings came pre-portioned so you don't have to worry about portioning/running out by the end of wasting at the end. It felt super fresh but also filling since the lamb portion was big (and lamb is a little heavier in general). We thought about skipped dessert but couldn't since all night we watched the milk tees me he's being made at the bar. We had to try it ourselves. I typically don't love the texture of tres leches but this one was different. The cookie crumble on top gave it a nice solid texture. Highly highly recommend. This is the best Vietnamese food I've had (that's not pho) and I can't wait to come back if I'm back in Miami. read more
