It's been a while since I've been to this location and it's still as good as I remember. For as many sandwich I've eaten in my life, Miss Tomato will always be near the top of my favorite places. This time I ordered the Carnivore and this sandwich was STACKED. 8 different types of meats, cheese, their secret sauce and all the toppings you want. I didn't think having all those different meats in one sandwich would be enjoyable but the taste was so different but in a good way. Lots of flavor. Good mix of Salty, savory and sweet. Slight bitterness from the greens blended it perfectly. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was the bread. Slightly tough, tasted a little stale, but edible. This is also a convenience/liquor store so there is no shortage of drink options/snacks/chips to go along with your sandwich. Nice people, good service, and later hours than most sandwich spots. Perfect for that late night bite. If someone asked me where to get a sandwich in Daly City, I wouldn't hesitate to throw this in as one of their choices. Get a sandwich and drink with chips, and whatever else is missing from the pantry. It's fast service with quality. It's not fast food like sub way. I've had occasional sandwiches from the Daly City Miss Tomato location for years as part of my lunch rotation - until they recently cut the Veggie Mama. I didn't see it on the board anymore so I asked why it's gone. "THE EGGPLANT." But that's why I sought out the sandwich. I guess I didn't order it enough. Now their veggie option, called the Miss Tomato Health Kicks, is just like every other boring ensemble-cast vegetable sandwich you can get anywhere else. The only real differentiator now is the military-grade garlic spread that I continue tasting multiple days later. I still can't decide if I low-key like it or if it's instead a weapon of mass stankiness. Probably both but it seriously skunks me up for hours and then some. I do still get a kick out of the cranky older dude who makes the sandwiches but he's not very nice - and inevitably I get caught in the line to pay behind some goofball debating flavors to vape. You can find some street parking nearby and run in to get your order along with a drink, chips or any of your Market store needs. The menu has plenty of options and I can say that the bread is soft and fresh, even the Dutch crunch which is crucial for me lol. I got the el gringo calienta sandwich on Dutch crunch with a few ingredients excluded. The flavor was on point and wasn't too spicy but it had enough to earn the name. The sandwich isn't too big but the price isn't bad at all. Service wasn't super quick but nobody should be in such a rush that they can't take the time to talk to the worker/owner, which I did. Passed by Miss Tomato often and was curious about their sandwiches whenever I drive to Kukje Market. Finally tried it when my husband and I decided to get sandwiches for our beach stroll with our infant. This place was packed! They were so busy! Miss Tomato was located inside a mini family owned convenient store that sold random things. Outside of it looked very janky with the old-school meter parking. The surrounding looked sketched but was on one of the busy main streets in Daly City. Just like many mini grocery like convenient stores that sold sandwiches, it was more of a to-go pick up kind of place with no special atmosphere. The workers were friendly though but it seemed like only one of the men knew how to make the sandwiches we ordered, so it took awhile to get our sandwiches (more than 20 minutes). It felt long especially since my husband and I buy a lot of sandwiches in SF and we rarely ever waited pass 12 minutes. This time felt even longer when we had our infant with us. We ordered two sandwiches to share. They were both huge for $11 each. We got what seemed to be their two most popular: Spicy Mama and Miss Tomato's BBQ Sandwich. My husband was craving a simple turkey sandwich with lots of mayo and lettuce from Lincoln Market (nearby Lincoln High School in SF), which was closed down. Miss Tomato did not have much options for turkey sandwiches so we got the Miss Tomato's BBQ sandwich which consisted of turkey, roast beef, carmelized onion, bacon, ranch dressing, garlic mayo, and Miss Tomato's BBQ sauce. That sandwich was yummy and quite tasty! The only suggestions we recommend was more sauces and seasoning on the deli meat to bring out the flavors. Their Dutch crunch bread was very good and not hard like some places but their deli meat was bland. It needed salt and pepper to bring out the flavors. The other sandwich we tried was the one most customers raved about on Yelp: Spicy Mama sandwich. This one was made of chicken, pesto, garlic, lettuce, red onion, tomato, Jack cheese, and chipotle sauce. Sounded very good! First bite of this one and man, it really was spicy. I could not enjoy this one because it got spicier as I ate it. My husband thought his half was spicy but tolerated it well until he tried mine and realized it was even spicier. Guess they did not squeeze the sauces proportionally so one half was spicier than the other. I would skip this one next time. Overall, Miss Tomato was a decent sandwich spot that we would get sandwiches from again if we were around the area. They cut their sandwiches in perfect halves so it looked very nice and clean. Too bad the taste could not top sandwich spots in SF like Submarine, Gene's Liquor, Lou's, or even Little Lucas in SSF. It was cheap alternative though for the sizes they gave, so still a good option but ask for seasoning for their sandwiches. read more

I was nervous about it being in a liquor store but the minute I walked in they were so nice! Nothing feels more "local" than a sandwich stand inside a liquor store. I got the Italian on Dutch crunch, everything on it. It's a huge sandwich, definitely not possible to eat in one sitting. The Dutch crunch is not as bread-ey as some others, which I actually prefer. They heat the meat (which is such a blessing for me right now). That basil sauce on this sandwich is absolutely fire! They put TWO kinds of onions in the sandwich, sliced white and diced red.
