I've eaten Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop twice. I almost always like to try a toasted meatball sandwich at any sandwich shop so I did that here as well. It's actually the first time I didn't enjoy it as much. There was just something about the meatballs and marinara sauce that I didn't love. I felt the meatballs weren't tasty enough and not juicy enough but I appreciated how many meatballs were put into it. The bread here is awesome though. It's crunchy on the outside, but still soft and moist. I like Mr. Pickle's bread texture-wise a lot more than the toasted bread at Columbo's Delicatessen (overly toasted; so it was hard on the outside and dry inside for both of the sandwiches I've tried there). The Maui toasted sandwich was pretty good though and the food is so fresh here. I do feel they care about quality while not being skimpy on ingredients. I also like buying a pint of their macaroni salad and potato salad. Honestly, the price is great and so is the flavor so I'm still giving this restaurant 4 stars. I went with the No. 11 a triple bacon BLT. Had no idea it would be so frick'n huge! Definitely worth the price. Kiddo got herself a turkey with cranberry and thought it was pretty tasty as well. I'm giving this location 2 stars rather than 1 because they had big pickles you could buy and the sandwich was filled well. That being said...the bread (Dutch crunch) was just awful! There was none of that nice crunch from the top. It tasted and felt stale and fell apart in a very weird way. The chicken breast was extremely dry. We (my Wife and I) don't have a Mr Pickles near us (where live now) and was even talking about it last week. We were excited to find a Mr Pickles adjacent to the hotel we were staying in. We placed our orders (which is slightly different from the real Mr Pickles and should have been a clue but we were tired and hungry) and went to our room. Both sandwiches were on Dutch rolls. They are hard to find in a deli but are crunchy deliciousness. These were NOT crunchy. Stale? Not Dutch roll? I don't know but they are not the real Dutch roll bread. The yummy pastrami is not the same either. First off, it wasn't yummy. It was a cheap quality flavorless pastrami. Salami, nope! It tastes old? I don't know what the flavor was but it was not good. This was and still is an amazing disappointment! Not to mention, a total waste of money! UGH! I work hard for my money and don't want to waste on substandard anything.
