I was a regular customer and I didn't appreciate the service I received today. They took the order of someone else when I was there first. When I mentioned it to the guy he said "well you didn't say anything. I don't know" He also didn't ask who was here first if he didn't know. He went straight to taking the order from the man first--just another moment of micro-aggression to deal with as an Asian woman. He could have said "sorry I didn't see you" instead, and moved on. But even after I asked a question about a drink I also received a rude tone and exchange about whether the drink was available or not. My GF and I have talked about going here recently because we used to go here when we were in middle school, and I made the decision to go twice this week. The first time around, I got a breakfast croissant (I believe it was sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese), and it was absolutely delicious. I wish I could've savored it, but what could be more of a compliment than scarfing down your food? Yesterday, I picked up one grilled pork and one grilled chicken banh mi--the owner even hooked it up with an original glazed donut! Got home and again... scarfed down my grilled pork banh mi. My GF loved hers as well. I'm gonna go again today. Great service. Great food. Friendly people. Absolute gem. Stopped in to give it a try...about 3.5+ stars. Very nice staff. Got a breakfast burrito and pork banh mi. Both were good and hit the spot for about $11 each. They had many other croissant, bagel sandwiches and other options that looked good and reasonable. In terms of pastries and donuts, it was about 10:30 and looked like they were almost done with donuts in their display (which was surprising for a place that is called Happy Donut, but maybe just storing more in the back) and their croissants, turnovers and apple fritters on display looked just ok. My husband and I LOVE this place! The owners are so sweet and kind. The donuts are obviously great. The coffee is really good. BUT - these breakfast burritos are NOT to be slept on. Seriously so so good! They're big too! I can't recommend enough. Also, I cannot stress enough how friendly all the staff is, just a wonderful family. Their food is AMAZING. We only started coming here for the donuts, but after we tried their breakfast sandwiches, we couldn't stop! We come here on the weekends for a pick me up. Their Iced Vietnamese coffee can also power you up for about 2 days absolutely love the couple running the shop. They are so sweet and work so hard. 10/10 for sure! read more

While the donuts and coffee are delectable, I actually recommend their combo banh mi. I don't know where they get their bread, but it's so soft and pillowy, yet crunchy at the same time. And, these guys pack their sandwiches so you're never left hungry. For less than $30, you can get a medium sized cup of Joe, two donuts, and two banh mi. High-level breakfast burrito at a small Cambodian owned donut shop in Daly city, made fresh to order and delicious. The ingredients are well spread and portioned, pico de gallo is wrapped in the burrito, and the tortilla is great. Every bite contributes to the greater whole and you get some of everything in each mouthful. The only place I can think of in the bay area that is as good is rose donuts in San Jose. I saved half for my wife because I wanted her to try it and when she saw how large it was she told me she would only eat a couple bites and I could have the rest. She ended up shooing me away and killing the whole thing. Got a brewed coffee as well, it was OK. Breakfast burrito so good happy donuts deserves the full 5 stars. read more

I go to Daly City for my nail appointments, and it's a long way away when driving to the city on a Monday morning from the East Bay. I got to my nail appointment about an hour early, and I was very hungry. After doing a quick Yelp search for good, quick breakfast I came across this place. The reviews on the breakfast burrito is what got me. The parking lot can be a bit of a sh*t show. There's a lot of stores in the lot and a gas station right next to it. I found parking, went in and ordered quickly. I wanted the breakfast burrito, ofc! The lady at the register was sweet - greeted me when I entered and made the suggestion that the sausage tastes better in the breakfast burrito. I'm finicky with sausage so I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito. OMG. Delicious! It was a nice, hearty, fat breakfast burrito & the pico de gallo in the burrito was a great plus. No extra sauce was needed for me, and I saved the other half for the next day. There's no way I'm wasting anything containing egg these days! It's a small, regular looking coffee donut/ breakfast shop and it seems like a lot of people go in before work. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area and craving a delicious breakfast burrito. The lady in the front was so generous to give me an extra one dozen donut holes and I thought that was so sweet of her! Happy Donut is such a cozy mom & pop shop, that for sure looks like they get a decent amount of business in the morning. I went around 12pm and the donuts were mostly taken. I hesitated to get a breakfast sandwich , but was so happy I gave in. I may be over exaggerating, but for an ordinary sausage, egg and cheese bagel it was so GOOD! My motorcycle safely in San Francisco and first train ride into Clarksville not for another 2-hours - I'm literally stuck in the Brady Bunch house! Fortunately, Yelp is open 24/7 and it led me to a simple donut shop just 2-blocks from my friend's house. Happy Donut is in a tiny strip mall shared with a Laundromat, a Liquor Store, and something forgettable with Marty McFly passing by on his skateboard! Yet, if you're in need of a fantastic cup of classic coffee with the freshest donuts just south of Hill Valley High this is the spot to be! All in all, exactly what's needed in the 'burbs! This review shpuld have been up a LONGG time ago. I love this place! I guess I would be considered a regular now since the owners recognize my family and I now lol The sandwiches are great! Made on the spot and served hot (or not if you don't want to). Fresh veggies to choose from and fills you out. Don't be afraid of asking for veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, avocado and (sometimes) cucumbers) on your breakfast sandwhiches. The Boba milk tea is good too, although so far I have only tried the mango one. Will keep coming back. ;) read more
