I had the good fortune of discovering a family-owned business, Mission Automotive & Smog Check, and I am genuinely impressed. While I'm not a mechanic, I've worked on cars throughout my life, mostly to save money, so I'm not easily conned. When I brought my car into Mission Automotive & Smog to discuss my concerns, I mentioned a procedure I thought was necessary, even though I knew it would be expensive. Instead of taking advantage of that, the gentleman immediately suggested a better option at a much lower cost. In the end, he actually saved me money. That level of honesty and integrity is rare and deeply appreciated. All of the employees are polite, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I went in to get a oil change and diagnostic for a check engine light , I let them know that I would need my car back the same day. We planned on dropping off my vehicle at 8:30 am and that I would pick it up the vehicle after I got off work. The person that I spoke with told me my vehicle would be outside for me right on front. I got out of work and arrived only to see my vehicle was nowhere to be found , the have no number to be contacted after hours so I had to call the police and file a police report for a stolen vehicle as I had no idea where my car was. The next day I was contacted by the person I made the agreement with at the shop and they said "they were very sorry for the misunderstanding and that it shouldn't have happened and that it was unacceptable and that they would call me on Monday to make it right for the inconvenience". I received no call or update , I had to get a ride to work with no sleep on Saturday morning because of this incident I don't recommend this place to anyone especially if you have to leave your vehicle and pick it up later. Agree with Russell's review, they still have a coupon for a $29.95 smog check but they don't honor it. All the other smog check stations in Fallbrook have apparently got together and charge about the same price, which is $20 to $30 more than what you'd pay in Temecula, Vista, or Oceanside. read more

They deserve no stars but I guess one star is mandatory . I made a appointment for 2 vehicles for an oil change they did one vehicle one day and told me to come back for the other vehicle and suggested I be the first one in at 8:30am so it can be done asap. I was the first in the shop waited almost 2 hours came back and they haven't even done the oil change but was already working on a car that came in after me. And they never even started on the service on my vehicle. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. What a waste of time. read more

Scam artists. Google search and you find them high in the results for Fallbrook with coupon for $29.75 under a different name. When you arrive at the 1236 South Main Ave Unit B address another business will refer you to where they moved to. When pressed they say it's an old coupon from 8 years ago at previous location. The name is also different, and the coupon is invalid, but you don't know that until you arrive. I called because my wife texted me after she paid and they started the smog check. The person told me, "It's not our problem, it's a Google Problem." Yet on this search result page (https://www.smogcheckdeals.com/main-street-smog-center-fallbrook/) there is a link to their site. I find it hard to believe they have known about this for 8 years and hove not corrected it! We will NEVER be back to these scam artists. read more

I brought my car to a lamp and brake inspection they took over 1.5 hours to check simple stuff they say they have to take the wheels off and I'm a mechanic myself i just don't have a license to do inspection for the dmv. Horrible service lies about time and that they need to take the wheels off to see brake pad wear .i did a whole brake job before coning in here and it took me 1 hr to disable the brakes front and rears thees people are just insane.. The real reason they took so much is because the whole crew went to get lunch for 1 hr. I will never come back . This was my 3rd time here but after the last one hell no. I could hear them on the back speaking I'm Spanish say why didn't you tell him it was going to be lunch time.. Horrible customer service be aware. read more

I will not be back for this reason: I downloaded a coupon from their website which entitled me to a "guarantee to pass or don't pay" smog check for $36.75. When I showed up with my Dodge Ram diesel, with 56,000 miles on it, he told me right away it didn't qualify for the coupon because it was a diesel. NOWHERE on the coupon or on the website did it say diesels were excluded. That is deception and borderline fraudulent. I would have used my regular oIl change guy for this work if it wasn't for the coupon. My feeling is, when a business is deceptive on one thing, what else will they try to deceive me on?? After reviewing the law, it actually makes my case stronger against this smog company. The tech was actually supposed to look up the EO number in an aftermarket database to help me with the lost sticker. Instead of turning me away for a dumb sticker, and me providing them the carb number for the exact part i went to smog bros for a cheaper smog, and the tech did what he was supposed to. Smog bros did nothing illegal, they did their JOB! Customer service , logic and common sense can go a long way. read more

So I dropped in here yesterday for my smog check. I did give them a heads up that I was coming in sometime around 3 or 4 pm, but we made no formal appointment. Life got in the way and I called them up around 5 to say I was on my way. Eli told me that as long as I got there by 5:30pm, all was well. I got there at exactly 5:30 and parked my truck where directed. Beto was very friendly, he got the paperwork ready and I remembered at the last minute to grab my coupon out of the truck. WITH coupon only $36.75 to be smogged + $8.25 for the certificate. With that accomplished I sat outside with my dog on the little porch. They were finished just before 6:00pm. I went on in the office and paid them in cash and I was on my way. Yep, I passed. YIPPIE! They were fast and easy and friendly, not to mention the price is a great deal!
