Great shop. I went in for a smog and I was in and out in less than 30 min :) the two men working there were also very sweet.

I usually get my vehicle smog at Main Street smog center but I saw that Fallbrook Smog had a Coupon that could save me 3 or 4 dollars. I had my vehicle smog test done at Fallbrook smog and it failed due to the gas gauge not working. I was told that due to the fact that I used their Coupon that I was not Eligible for a re-smog after I fix it. I checked their Coupon and website to see if it was mentioned anywhere that a retest could not be done after using their Coupon, did not mention it anywhere. After repairing the gas gauge I had it retested at Main Street Smog where I have never had any issues over the years and will keep going to. read more

Seems like people are complaining without giving all the facts. Like the lady who complained about not making an appointment and then had to wait while someone who made an appointment got their smog test. I just smogged my second car and asked about the review. She was advised to make an appointment, but didn't. Now she's complaining about it?? And the one's promoting another business didn't say anything about a free second test as part of the first one. Went here two years ago for a smog certificate on my 18 year old Jeep. Slim pickings because of the ransom star testing. The guy tells me it will cost 500-600 to replace one of my catalytic converters because even though the car is an '01, he tells me someone used a 1997 converter and it needs to be replaced in order to pass. I left and went to a different star testing, it passed and there was no mention of a '97 converter. This year, I went to star testing place I found on Yelp, it passed no problem and there was no mention of a '97 converter. Why am I writing this now? Because it bugs me that this stuff still goes on. It's been 2 1/2 years since Armondo failed my truck twice on a visual even though the computer tests passed me. (Because I could be undercover from the state). Since then I have honestly passed smog twice without doing anything other than adding Lucas oil treatment. Still driving the truck and not concerned about passing smog. Brought my RV for smog, I had called ahead of time since the rig is a little hard to find a spot for. They said bring it in we'll have a spot for you. Showed up and the technician was there right in front of the shop and I could tell he made extra room for the rig beforehand. Nice waiting area while the checks are performed. This place completely ripped me off because I used a coupon. When they perform a smog the first thing they do is check if there is any check engine lights and that if the computer system is "ready for the test". My system wasnt ready at the time because i had recently replaced the battery. so they saw that right at the start of my testt but then proceded to do all the other emissions tests even though they knew i already failed. So they came out and told me that i failed the test and that i couldnt get the free retest because i used the coupon. Took it to another place the next week and they had the courtesy to tell me if the computer was ready without charging me like these crooks. Beware of this business, they are just trying to make money and are not trying to build a strong customer base. There are several other smog shops in town that would appretiate the business and the chance to make a life long customer, but not fallbrook smog read more

I would think twice about trusting this guy. My husband called for an appointment at about 9 am on a saturday. The guy there told him that he didn't need an appointment, so he went down at about 10 am. He was then told he needed an appointment and they didn't have an opening for two hours. So my husband made the appointment for the following Monday and I took care of it. The car passed and everything was Ok. Then my son needed his car smogged. I called in the morning and spoke to the guy. He took my phone number, the kind of car, and gave me an appointment for 1pm. My son and I go down there and the girl behind the desk asks who I talked to and said that they didn't have me in the system and had another appointment at 1pm. Instead of apologizing, the guy proceeds to call me a liar and tell me that I didn't talk to him and that he hasn't answered the phone all day. I knew it was him as I recognized his voice by this time. My son rescheduled the appointment for the next day and we left. I called from the parking lot and she answered the phone. We didn't go back the next day and I won't go back ever. They are higher priced than the Star shops in Temecula and the customer service is bad. If he would lie twice about making an appointment, what would he do about telling you something needs repair on your car to pass smog that isn't really the problem. read more

I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about, but I've never had anything but excellent service from this business. Never ever will I go here again. Total CON. Another family member brought the car in on 10/23 and it failed. We were told to come back and it would be re-tested for free when repaired. I went in today. I did not have the paperwork with me. He didn't make a big deal about it and looked us up in the computer. He took the car, did the test, and came back with another fail, thru an error of my own of not driving the car enough since the repair. He told me to come back again for a free retest and dropped my key at the front desk. Once at the front desk I was told today's test was $49 when I thought it was a free retest. I was told that since I didn't have my paperwork from my original test (AT THEIR SHOP!) that I would have to pay the full fee. I tried to call the other family member to locate the paper but couldn't get a hold of them. I went back in and he acted like he was doing me a big favor by "waiving" the $49 fee of today's supposed "free" retest even though I didn't have my original receipt. I was then told I had to pay a $4 test fee, to which I put down my debit card since I didn't have any cash on me. I was then told they only accept cash for this fee and they wouldn't honor my card. I was not the one who brought the car in the first time and knew nothing, and this man couldn't even tell me his policy before he took the car back for a retest. This put me over the edge, and he told me "I didn't have to get mad." I told him I was frustrated and why couldn't they just charge my card. He told me it didn't make sense to charge my card that little. I said I just wanted to pay so I could get out of there. He promptly left the room to test the next car. The receptionist followed after him and came back to tell me they would be charging me the full $49 test fee. So we have paid this CON MAN $98 for 2 failed tests. I will not be returning for my "free" retest. Do not go here! Do not waste your time and money read more

There are a lot of smog shops to pick from in Fallbrook, but hands down Fallbrook Smog is the place I would recommend. I have been there several times, and referred family and friends there. The owner and the girls that work at the front desk have been courteous and helpful each time. I was just in earlier today to get my new car smogged.
