I got a haircut and beard trim by the bigger dude. Like others have mentioned below, boy did he massacre my hair. He makes Supercuts look like high end barbers. He didn't blend the top of my hair with the sides, which is a standard thing all barbers do. I'm not kidding when I say that at the end of the cut the right side of my beard was an inch longer than the left. Did I mention that my neck line looked like it was done by Michael J Fox? The kicker was that it cost me $80. This shop knows it's ripping people off. Unlike my barber, people work hard for their money. It's messed up to charge people an obscene amount of money and then on top of that give them the worst haircut ever. Be better. read more

JuanCarlos has been my guy for the last 12 years, and has always given me an excellent cut. Mission Barber has always been a chill spot to just hang out, not just get your hair cut. Last week I went here to chop down a pretty big beard into something with a little more style for the summer. I've been to Juan Carlos before but I was still a little apprehensive because let's face it, people look at my face they see my beard. He crushed it! I had an appointment at this place at 2pm for my child and when I reached the owner and his helper acts as if I am there for walk in. This is so unprofessional. Made a last minute appointment up at Mission Barber for my teenager and they were able to fit us in! My son received a great high fade from a barber who was kind, patient, and quick. My son is Autistic so having a quality haircut by a professional who has patience for the wiggling around is so special. The cut looks great. Everyone is highly skilled here and my man Juan never disappoints in my cuts and requests. Ignore the lame review(s), just tell him what you want upfront and he'll make it happen. He keeps a very good relationship with his customers and is willing to go the extra mile. Today, I finally got to see the BRAND NEW location. It is located conveniently at Mission Blvd and Washington Blvd. It's nostalgic when you pull up. It has a classic look with his dad's original barber tools that sit in the window pane above the front porch and a barber pole above the front door. The waiting chairs inside are nice and comfy and I was greeted with a fruit cup! He even has a beautifully patio on the side where customers and friends can hang and chat. I've been visiting Don Juan's for about 2 years when he was at his old shop on Fremont. Always felt a good vibe, old school barber type, what you expect from your guy. The prices are what they are, being from Bakersfield, CA of course it's a lot. That being said, always looked sharp walking out of there. The new shop on Mission, is exactly the type of place I want to visit to get a cut. This is where professional go, no matter your industry. Your lady, or guy (not a hater) will be happy you walk out. Not only is Don Juan an excellent barber but you're across the San Jose Mission, can walk down the street before or after and get a cup of coffee, if your traveling around with your love one, she (or he) can take a stroll and get some shopping done. Recently visited this barber shop for a last minute pandemic haircut for my nephew. His hair had grown out so long and we heard everything was closing and we're in need to get him a haircut ASAP. Don Juan messaged me through Yelp after a long search for barber shops in our area assisting me in setting up a time to get him in at the last minute. He was super friendly and made my nephew feel very comfortable. He loves to joke around and has a sense of human keeping the kids smiling the entire time. He even took the time to show my nephew how to comb over his hair multiple time before leaving the shop. The shop was also very clean and felt sanitized. There was a sanitizer and temperature station when you first enter the door. And seating six feet apart. definitely plan to return. read more

Second time brought my kids here. First, just my 5 year old and then I made another appointment to bring both. So many wonderful things about this place. They have little cars for kids to keep occupied with, the staff will wear masks if you request and their patience with little ones is just amazing.
