I have been going here for over 20 years and it's still my go to spot whenever I need a haircut. The staff is very friendly and personable. You can tell they remember their regular customers because they greet them by name and have conversations during the service. The interior just recently got a refresh and looks very clean. The prices have gone up just like everything else, but they try their best to keep prices low by offering options like Venmo and Zelle if you don't have cash which is convenient. I typically request Tony because of how long I've been coming here but if you don't want to wait, anyone else on the staff can help give you a clean cut in no time. If your schedule permits, I'd recommend Mon-Thurs for the shortest wait times. read more

I've been going to Tony at Precision Cutz for the past 10 years, and I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. He's always consistent, takes his time, and makes sure I leave with a clean cut every single time. The shop has a great vibe, it's always clean, and everyone there is friendly. Tony has put together a solid team with two other barbers and two stylists, so you can tell he cares about the quality of the shop as a whole. I was with my old barber from 2006-2015. I moved and was referred to Precision Cutz when I needed a new option. I have been going to Tony since 2015. Every employee is talented and they can give you the exact cut you ask for. They are very accommodating and friendly. I've been going here since it was Super Cuts. Then bought by Mrs. Kim. Found Tony and he became my permanent barber! Easy to contact and schedule an appointment. Knows how you want it cut. If you change your style, remembers it. Tell them how you want it, show them a picture. Cut it like how you want it. I've got to see famous athletes going here too! Tony's brother David is the barber of the stars lol. Saw Chris Mullen and Sergio Romo. Everyone inside is cool. My go to is Tony. Been fading My hair since the late 90's. read more

Precision Cutz has a long history at the same Union City location. Before it became Precision Cutz, the shop was known as Kim’s Head to Toe, where our owner worked for many years and built relationships with loyal customers. After becoming the owner, he continued the shop under the new name Precision Cutz, with the same focus on quality service, attention to detail, and making every customer feel welcome. With about 25 years of experience at this location, Precision Cutz proudly serves customers from Union City, nearby communities, and even those who travel from farther away. Today, we offer full-service salon and barbershop services, including haircuts, fades, beard trims, coloring, highlights, waxing, and more. Hi, I’m Tony, the owner of Precision Cutz. I have about 25 years of experience in the hair industry and have worked at this same Union City location for many years. Before becoming Precision Cutz, the shop was known as Kim’s Head to Toe. After becoming the owner, I continued the business under the Precision Cutz name. I booked this appointment for a pick-me-up before my father's funeral, wanting to look good for family and friends. When I called to make he appointment, I was quoted "around $350 for a balayage" (I have a transcript of the call). Given my straight, fine, and short hair (just above the shoulder), this felt pricey, but I accepted the cost, as I had previously had good experiences at this salon. However, I was ultimately billed twice the quoted amount! This was my first time with this specific stylist.* I was charged for both a balayage and a haircut, but the haircut charge was unwarranted. The stylist offered to "quickly and easily" take some weight off the bottom of my hair because it tends to curl up. I accepted, assuming this small adjustment would be complimentary or inexpensive--not $300 for a few lousy snips! After the cuts, my hair still curled up, but I dismissed it as it wasn't the reason for my visit, and I usually wear my hair up anyway. Three hours later, the appointment was finally over and I went to the front to pay. I was SHOCKED to find that the total was TWICE what I was expecting to pay. I broke down, partly from all the stress I was under planning the funeral and partly because $600+ is WAY more than I would have EVER agreed to! I was really mad and someone came out (manager?). They took a few dollars off but it was still nowhere near the original agreed upon price. I told the stylist the most important thing was a natural looking balayage. As you can see in the pictures I took the same day as the appointment, she did a terrible job and the lines are mostly straight down my part with one weird area. It looks like I self-dyed my hair recently and it just started to grow out. It is 2.5 now weeks later and I am still SO mad, I can barley look in the mirror. I hate it! She did a terrible job and got paid good money for it. The appointment finally concluded after three hours, and I proceeded to the front desk to pay. I was absolutely shocked to find that the total cost was double what I had anticipated. I became very emotional, partly due to the stress of planning a funeral and partly because over $600 is significantly more than I would ever have agreed to pay! I was furious, and a staff member (possibly a manager) came out. They offered a small discount, but the price was still nowhere near the original agreed-upon amount. I had specifically told the stylist that achieving a natural-looking balayage was the most important thing. However, as the photos clearly show, the result is terrible with straight, distinct lines. It looks like a poorly executed dye job that is already growing out. Now, two and a half weeks later, I am still so upset that I can barely look in the mirror. I hate it! The stylist did a poor job and was paid handsomely for it. *I am choosing not to name the stylist because, as a gig worker myself, I understand people have bad days. However, I also know that money should be refunded (or billed the actual agreed upon amount!) when the job wasn't done--not just unsatisfactorily, but incorrectly.

DAVID IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!! I don't know what this man's problem is, but he seems to have a sick obsession with shaving people bald against their will. I asked for a very simple haircut--a #2 everywhere. Instead of using a #2 like he was supposed to, he used a zero (for those of you unfamiliar, a zero is a shaved head/no hair). I really don't want the skin of my head to be exposed, and I don't know many people who would intentionally want to appear bald when they have a full head of hair. I'm not the only person who feels this way either. If you browse around the reviews, you'll see that many other people feel similarly to the way I do. Here are links to 2 of the most recent reviews attesting to the same experience: This person had an identical experience to mine. He asked for a #2 all-around, but ended up completely bald instead. It's that if you give David a set of clippers, be prepared to wind up bald. In the hands of a truly skilled barber, clippers are your friends, capable of producing cool hairstyles of cuts. In the hands of David, clippers become a hair-devouring, scalp-exposing, metal nightmare. I've been a long-time lurker on yelp, but never felt compelled to create an account until my horrible experience with David. The fact that I signed up for the first time after many years, just to write a review telling others to stay away from him, should speak volumes. This guy really needs to go. For over 20 years (5 years from now) I kept searching for a decent salon and hair stylist that I could call my regular until I walked into precision haircut in Union City and had my first haircut with David.
