And my baby didn't had any cuts. He will make sure to keep the baby distracted through iPad and it helps. He will ask you to sign a waiver. Prince is really good with his haircut and is passionate about his work. However, appointments are always blocked out a full month in advance. That's fine, but he tries to book you sneakily for one of his associates and reveals that only once you show up. I have recently moved to Fremont and I was looking for a new barber. Prince was close to home and his rates looked very reasonable. A little about how business: On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, customers need to check in at the shop in the morning and get a time slot for the day. I showed up late in the morning around 10:30 am and I was asked to show up around 2:30 pm for hair cut and eye threading. Prince seems to be running a 1 man business. He is professional and respectful. I would recommend him to people looking for a barber. Prince takes appointment on Tuesday and Wednesday I think. I went here for my daughters Mundan. She was 8.5 months old. Being a mother I was very scared for Mundan. But he was so good. He was very confident and as soon as we entered he turned on his iPad and played rhymes. My daughter was on my lap and was looking at the ipad. If she moved at all , prince was very careful and would stop his process immediately till she settles. For a ceremony like Mundan you want the service provider to be an expert as you just can't afford any risk when it comes to your child. And prince was confident and it really looked like he knows what he is doing. He is a little expensive but I was ok paying a little more for the experience. Would def recommend him. Terrible experience..booked an appointment for the first time and since I had guests coming over a while later , I went to the barber 10 mins early just in case he could start earlier but instead of that this guy was slow as a sloth and he was interrupted by random calls that he would attend and get distracted while a customer he was attending to was waiting and so was I. I informed him about the urgency and requested him to do his best to hurry up but instead he got to me 15 mins later than my appointment and then it took him 45 mins to do a simple basic hair cut !!! Booked appt well in advance for a shave and haircut the weekend of my wedding. I got busy with wedding stuff and so was running late. Showed up 10 minutes late to the appointment. Apologized multiple times, said he could only do shave and not haircut because he had other appointments. Which I understood and it was my fault for being late. Then he said he would still charge me for hair cut even though I wasn't able to get it. I obviously said no to this and left. Very arrogant and full of himself - even after I apologized and was just looking to get cleaned up before my wedding. Highly recommend not walking in for a haircut, I called and they said they had walk in available, I come in for a haircut and they tell me that it'll be a long wait and I said it's fine and they told me that one of the barbers will get me after they finish with their customer. I waited for about an hour only for the barbers 5:15 appointment show up and him to tell me to come back another time. Why they made me wait an hour before telling me that they can't get to me is not okay. Terrible experience, they did a extremely poor job cutting my hair when I walked in the first time and don't seem to give attention to customers without appointments. This review is for Ajeet who did the shaving of hair or known as the Mundan or Mottai in India. When I decided to do the mottai thing, my husband, my mom, and many others were not sure about the need or how we would find someone here in the US. I really wanted to keep the tradition and avoid doing it in India at all costs cuz i could not stomach the hygiene factor. Though the temples offered a mundane service, it was not a proper tonsure like they do in India. Thanks to my fellow Indians who subjected their poor children as well, I found Prince's barbershop and we walked away happy customers. Ajeet was really friendly and super sweet to accommodate us even though we were late. He did an excellent job and I felt it was a better mundan than ones done in India. He is super patient with the babies and takes his time to be extra careful and thorough. It is a small shop in fremont and it gets very busy quickly. This seems to be the spot to go if you are looking to do a proper mundan. With that said, the barbers are nice and the place is relatively clean. Note- you wont find a fancy salon or equipment. This took some adjusting for my mom as she wasn't sure but I trusted other fellow yelpers and we waited. Here are some good tidbits to consider: 1. Prepare and plan. You will definitely need two people other than the barber himself. It depends on your kid. Usually mine is Dennis the menace but we were lucky to see the baby go before us to know what to do and what not to do. 2. Make an appointment. If you are going by auspicious times (like my mom forced me to), then pray its not on Friday-Sunday- because that is walk in only! Ajeet was nice enough to offer to come in at opening but we could not make that time. When we got there, there were already 3 people waiting for him including a baby and it was only 9 am. BE ON TIME and aim for a day that you can get an appointment. 3. Take distractions like an iPhone or iPad (ask for the wifi ahead of you sitting in chair), a friendly grandmother, a clown, whatever to help keep your child distracted. 4. Wear clothes that you don't care if hair gets on them. The baby that went before us had a melt down just at the start of the cover Ajeet tried to put on the mom. Forget covering the kid- its not worth it. 5. Process: first ajeet will buzz off the hair with an electric buzz- it will get to pretty close shave. Then he wets the head slightly and then goes over the head with a sterilized straight razor. 6. Brace yourself. Decide who is going to hold the child. It is best to get someone who the child has best temperament and one other person to hold head (more like put it on lock down) if needed. My son who was 21 months old surprisingly didn't fuss much, to my surprise. The baby before us screamed for mercy- so again it depends on your child. During the straight blade part, Ajeet suggested not to hold head to see how he reacts and honestly he just sat watching Moana (for the 10935935028235 time). 7. Once Ajeet is done with the straight razor, he put powder on the head and covered any missing spots. bring a large zip lock bag if you want to take it back to donate to the temple, etc. 8. Hard part over. he offered us the bathroom to wash the head and wipe face. I was not into the facilities since unfortunately a previous customer left it in bad condition. There is opportunities to improve this- which is why I reduced 1 star. 9. We changed our son and wiped him down in our car. I brought a big sheet to catch any hair that may fall. It took him some time and he was missing his long hair but has now gotten used to it. I am not sure I have fully recovered but milestone done- check! 10. Grab a drink cuz you survived! *bring cash- it cost us $50 at that time. if you use CC- then its $ 1 charge* Best of luck! Don't fear- they can smell it! LOL! You're in great hands! read more

The place was clean and well attended by other customers. Got a mundan done here and Prince knows how to handle the little clients. During the entire time, he held her head with soft hands and worked patiently with us. In and out in roughly 45 mins. Prince has an iPad that he will use to draw the attention of your little one during the process and help them get done with it faster. He was pleasant to talk to as well. TIP for MUNDAN- if this is your first mundan, make sure that the following items are taken care of and I'll guarantee that you will walk out on time and pleased. - Ensure that the baby is fed prior to the procedure. If their tummy is full, they are going to be less irritable; - ensure that you carry 1-2 pacifiers and their favorite toy to keep them engaged. Dancing lights by Einstein baby worked great for ours; -do not panic when the baby cries. Try to soothe them and avoid yelling at the barber ( some parents do and we all know that); and finally, -you do not shampoo their head after the procedure. It will get dry and itchy. Apply a moisturizer or natural oil to avoid discomforting your little one. read more

I had to get it done on the same day I called and Prince had his schedule all setup however since that was the only day I could have done it, he arranged for it and helped me get it done. He paid special attention to the baby and whatever rituals we needed to get done there were helped with. Very accommodating and considerate.
