Five stars all around! We're big fans of Mission BBQ as a family, but this was our first time at this location, and the staff really made it special. The service was awesome from start to finish--they made sure we were enjoying everything. When they found out it was our first visit, they brought us a treat, and even sang happy birthday to my dad when they heard we were celebrating! As a Texas native, and someone who has lived & eaten BBQ all over the country (and the world), I know how BBQ should taste. All the bells and whistles, also. Brisket is always my go-to meat for deciding if a BBQ joint is any good, but there are other factors, including the sweet tea, potato salad or mac & cheese, and cobbler or banana pudding. After a couple visits to this Doral (Miami) Mission BBQ, and experience at other Mission BBQ restaurants across the country, I can say this: -Moist brisket: decent. Better with sauce, which knocks a few points off (sauce should accent the meat, but not be a requirement for the meat to taste good). But it's decent; I'll get it a 3rd time in the future. -Mac & cheese: also decent. I have had better and worse. -Cobbler: hit-and-miss. It has been really good and it has been really mediocre. -Sweet tea: sucks. Sucks horribly. The manager should try some sweet tea from Cracker Barrel, or buy a jug of Milo's at Publix 2 blocks away, or even get some from Chick-Fil-A 1 block away...and work on improving Mission's sweet tea. Because it sucks. -Ambiance: no complaints. Just please be sure the staff have a respectable knowledge of BBQ; this ain't McDonalds McRibs, after all! Verdict: I'll go back again, mostly because it's a 5-minute drive from my house, but Mission BBQ Doral needs a bit of work. Famous Dave's is just down the street, and while it's far far far from great BBQ, I'll go there if Mission continues to fail the sweet tea and cobbler. read more

So happy Mission bbq finally made it to Miami. Went to Mission for the first time two years ago in Jacksonville and loved it ever since. Great friendly service and delicious bbq. We got the three meat sampler with the two side combo. Jalapeño cheddar sausage pulled pork and brisket all were perfectly seasoned and the baked beans with mac and cheese were fantastic. Besides the great service and food I love what they stand for. Love all the local police and patriotic memorabilia. Will definitely be back. read more

Saw the reviews and was excited to come. Plenty of parking in front and upon entering very cool decor with plenty of seating. Found the board a little confusing but ended up ordering the 2 meat sampler which included the 2 bone baby back ribs and brisket as well as a side of Mac and cheeze as it was hyped on previous reviews. Unfortunately the meat was too salty with a salty aftertaste and I tried at first to keep away from the sauces to try and taste the meats. Ended up drowning the meat with the sauces as the salt taste was too overbearing. As for the Mac and cheese, it was just ok and the cornbread, well all I can say is I've had better. So glad Mission BBQ opened in doral! We needed some decent BBQ in the area. We have visited several times, both for dine in and take out. Mission BBQ has delicious service, outstanding service, and heart warming ambiance. It has become a go-to-spot for me and my hubby. We love their: moist brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. In regards to sides, we love their Mac and cheese, baked beans with brisket, fresh cut fries, and collard greens. I highly recommend getting a meat sampler and trying some of their yummy seasonal sides. Regarding their ambiance, I love how they proudly display pictures, embroidered patches, and medals from law enforcement, firefighters and the military. Been here three times and though it is getting better now any where as good as the other mission BBQs around the country. Food over cooked or barely warm. They cook it so far in advance it has no flavor left. Sides were warm not hot. Very disappointed. Not sure if I can go back for a fourth disappointment. read more

Really happy when I saw that Mission BBQ had opened up in the Doral area. The food is pretty good for BBQ I mean I can say the better ones for BBQ in S.Florida. The establishment was clean, cheery and the employees were pleasant except the woman who cleans the tables and is by the drink machine. She seemed to be in a rush for whatever reason, it wasn't like the restaurant was packed or anything, we visited on a Monday afternoon. Personally, I've enjoyed my last three experiences. I'm not sure why there are some negative reviews but, personally, if you receive the food and it doesn't taste the way you expect then walk back to the counter and let them know. They are usually pretty good about fixing the issue. My only negative experience was with the pastrami, but it was corrected. Overall, the food is good quality and rather tasty. The Mac and cheese is a good balance to the rest of the bbq meats. The brisket is great! I usually go for the moist option. I've had a good experience with the service. The cashiers are really nice and friendly. I like the ambiance. It is a family-friendly environment. I could deduct a star for my first experience with the pastrami but I'm not going to. The sweet tea mixed with lemonade (Arnold Palmer style) makes for a refreshing drink option with the bbq. I think it's great overall! read more

My quest for a good BBQ in Miami... I grew up in Texas and Tx knows BBQ. I have been out here for about 8 years and have not found a great bbq place. The closest was Dickey's which closed a few years ago. I started going to the gym in Doral and noticed the military truck. I think I had these guys a long time ago at the River Cities Festival, Miami is known for expensive food and terrible service. I walked into this place today, I was the first customer. They greeted me as I walked in. The cashier explained how they are set up. Shortly after they called my name and there was my plate, everything neatly laid out not just dumped. The person giving me my food told me where all the condiments were. This is amazing bbq, the brisket was the best in Miami. The price was not bad. They have lemonade and sweet tea. The staff is just awesome. They even came up and took my empty food plate. I love the decorations. I think they should do a military discount but even without it, I was blown away.
