The staff are amazing here. We came here when they were celebrating all service men and women. My husband is a retired Army veteran. Food was good and we tried all the sauces. We were in the area and stopped in and were extremely disappointed. My husband ordered the 2 meat sampler with the baby back ribs and brisket moist with 2 sides and a drink. It came with two bones of ribs that were dry as a bone and were leathery and the brisket was so salty my lips puckered. I really didn't want to write this review because they are heavily involved with the military amd this strictly being written as legitimate constructive critisism of the food. This restaurant was totally amazing! I am not usually a fan of bbq but some family members wanted to try it. The food was great, staff was friendly and decor was upbeat and inspiring! The only issue is that I signed up for their birthday club and it isn't processing. They have reusable soda cups which you can buy and then it is only 99 cents to get a soda. The food was amazing, very good very fresh and just tasted legit. The pricing was also good for the amount of food, it's made quick and you can watch it be made. The workers are so kind and make sure your doing well, I came back up for a brownie and without a thought the guy goes "on the house" (it was delicious, chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside, so good.) I'm not aware of too many BBQ restaurants in the area, and this hit the spot reasonably well. I grew up in a southern state so I've had some pretty delicious BBQ in my life, and I would say the food here was only OK. The pulled pork was pretty stringy and hard to eat, although dousing it in the six (!) different BBQ sauces helped a lot. The cornbread was also OK but tasted a little dry to me. I got our food as take-out so I don't have too much to say about the dine-in experience, although the restaurant looked pretty nice and reasonably spacious. Came in for the first time earlier today for dinner with my daughter. First visit to Mission BBQ. This location is extremely well managed, that was clear from the visit. All of the staff were friendly and seemed genuinely excited to be there and helping to give us great food and a great visit. Decor is upbeat and seating is ample and cozy. Great music playing too! I got a two meat sampler which comes with corn bread. My daughter got a brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese side. I got the green beans with bacon side dish. All of the food was fantastic. We didn't know which sauce we liked so they gave us a portion of all 6 of them (great touch). I normally don't care for potato salad and this is so delicious. All of the meats were tender and flavorful. The brisket was a standout to me with the nice crispy outer texture but the inside melts in your mouth. Mac and cheese was super flavorful and had a lot of dimension. We spent 55$ for cold greasy brisket. The sausage was sliced thin and with rubber texture. Mac and cheese were cold. Tastes like candle wax. The two stars were for the customer service. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we will not be returning. Is too expensive for mediocre food. I've been to this Mission BBQ a few times and never leave disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing. This visit I got the 2 meat sampler with the brisket & pulled chicken, along with baked beans, cheesy potatoes and it comes with a piece of cornbread. The brisket was nice and juicy, pulled chicken full of flavor, and I absolutely love their baked beans that also have bits of brisket mixed in. The staff there genuinely show interest in you while you are there. The manager regularly floats around to check on you along with other staff members. I didn't even think to ask for butter for my cornbread and a staff member came up asking if I would like butter. They want your experience to be memorable. We like Mission BBQ however find it a bit inconsistent over multiple visits. Sometimes the food is incredible while other times it seems lacking in flavor and/or overcooked. Oh yeah, I walk into this standalone in the parking lot of my Kohl's thinking it was the place to sign up for a Mars mission. But no.... it's a BBQ chain. The smell activated sub human salivation reflexes, but I got it together enough to order something. I went with half a yard bird( it's chicken), Mac n cheese and baked bean sides. Most items come with a piece of the corn bread. My to go order was ready in a minute or 2 as I was here pretty early. My friendly server threw in 3 of the 6 bbq sauces. The chicken was very tender and smoky. It was a nice portion and enough for sliders the next day. I wish the skin could have been crisp though. The sauces were ok, maybe I need to try the other 3. The Mac n cheese was very good. Not too dry not too saucy, and a sharp cheddar flavor, order again! The beans were forgettable, no pieces of brisket or much more than a very sweet flavor. I'm slightly rounding up but plan on bringing my uncle back to try the ribs, and I'll likely get something more beef oriented. read more

Stopped into Mission BBQ yesterday w/ my Father-In-Law, neither one of us had been there before. My Father-In-Law ordered the Baby Back Ribs w/ a side of fries, while I went with the Beef Brisket and the Classic Sausage #41. Our meals were ready after a short wait. My Father-In-Law enjoyed his ribs, I was glad he did, because I was the one who had suggested we go to a BBQ place (and he rarely eats BBQ). But I used to live in Tennessee (and worked in Northern Alabama), so my standards for BBQ are "higher". I felt Mission BBQ is decent enough for Northern BBQ, but it still fell short of my expectations. First, I had ordered the "moist" beef brisket (there was a choice between moist or lean, never seen that on a menu before, so I picked moist). Honestly, the brisket was not moist at all, if anything, it was slightly dry. It did have a bit of bark, but I had to add some of the Texas sauce to give this brisket some flavor ( I really did not detect any smoke at all with the brisket). As for the "Classic Sausage #41", I just thought it was OK, nothing really special. Kinda wish I hadn't ordered the sausage and went with a side instead. If I was to return to Mission BBQ, I'd order the Baby Back Ribs. Didn't get to try any of my Father-In-Law's ribs last night, but the portion was very large and he finished all of it, so I know he really liked them. Becka, who was working in the dining area, was very friendly & attentive, we enjoyed talking to her. Also, my Father-In-Law is a veteran, we both appreciated the respect that Mission BBQ shows to our military and those who have served. Let's start with the service, was great service and they had an employee walking around checking on folks. Found this to be a welcoming addition. Ambiance is it is located in a nice area. Now onto the food. If you are looking for cheaper bbq this is your place. I would say I rate places off their brisket and if you need to use the bbq sauce. A great 7.5-10/10 you should hardly have to use any bbq sauce. 9-10 you do not need any at all because the flavor profile is so great. Mission is a 5.5/10 in the bbq world. Felt there was a lack of a smoke ring on the brisket, along with moisture and flavor profile. The ribs also lacked that smoke and flavor profile. The best part of the meal though was the pudding. Great taste and the corn bread was moist. This is an affordable bbq eatery and worth the price you pay for it. read more

Mission BBQ is a great eating establishment that supports veterans, police, firefighters, and first responders. My father is a Vietnam veteran so that means even more to me. I often come here with my parents or just my mom. We came here so often they knew us, and still some employees do. The staff here are all very nice! Someone always comes over to check on you or clear your table, showing very good customer service. Over the last year the pulled pork sandwich and baby back ribs started to become inconsistent with quality, the good quality we all know Mission BBQ usually provides. However, I went there today and got the brisket sandwich and it was out of this world phenomenal. I'll be back soon for it again! As for the temperature in here, it is always absolutely freezing in here all months of the year. Today it was so cold my mom and I had to cut our conversation short to go to our car to warm up, I am not kidding. It's a shame because I love coming here, but in the winter especially I think twice because it is so u comfortably cold in here. That along with some inconsistency in the last year in food quality is the reason for the one star left off in my review. Otherwise, I do really like it here. I am a HUGE BBQ fan. While I would in no way consider myself an expert, I was stationed in the Carolinas long enough to become well acquainted with some of better stuff that we just don't generally get up here in the Northeast. With that said, Mission BBQ in Hamilton is pretty good...by corporate standards. Is it going to hold a candle to the roadside mom and pops the dot the landscape in the land of pulled pork? Of course not, but if you come in with your expectations properly adjusted, it'll definitely scratch your itch for 'Q. Despite a fairly long line when I arrived, things moved quickly, and I was up to the front dealing with the friendly staff within 5 minutes or so. As it was my first time in, I went for the three meat sampler: pulled pork, brisket, and Classic #41 Sausage. The pork was very good, juicy and flavorful with a hint of smokiness to it. The sausage was equally as good, I'm not sure if they actually tried 40 other varieties to get to this final product, but if so, the perseverance paid off. The brisket was somewhat lackluster, but that may be attributed to the fact that it was listed as "lean" on my my receipt. I'm not sure if there's another option as I was offered one, but if there is a "marbled" or "fatty" option, I surely would have gone that route. I'll be sure to ask next time. With the take out order, I was offered to choose from 6 different sauces. I went with the K.C. Classic and the Tupelo Honey Heat. Sensing I liked my sauce on the spicy side, the helpful young man behind the counter offered to toss in a container of what he called "their spiciest sauce:" Baja Bold, which was not on the menu board, but I happily accepted. All three sauces were okay, but a bit sweeter than I like, even the Baja. A few shakes of the Jekyl & Hyde BBQ from 13 Angry Scorpions in my fridge turned things up to the appropriate notch for me. I got a side of Cheesy Potatoes and "Cold Slaw" to fill out the meal. The potatoes were okay, but sadly the cold slaw was pretty terrible. No real flavor to speak of at all. Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the over-the-top military/first responder theme and paraphernalia that covers the joint. I say this as a Veteran: it can be a bit much, but when you take into consideration that the military theme can also be seen in training the staff to be "squared away" and respectful to all customers as well as the teamwork that appeared to be a natural part of the daily ops behind the counter, I can't knock it too much. All in all, some pretty decent BBQ at a fair price. A solid 4 stars. read more
