We shopped no less than 8 other BBQ caterers in the Philadelphia area and Julie was a true breath of fresh air.

We went completely out of our way from traveling from our house in Delaware County to Louisville…read morejust to stop at Porky's. My man ate like a total barbarian. I've never seen someone devour food like he did! I told him it was already dead and wouldn't be running away! Ha He absolutely loved the smoke cabbage as well. I didn't try that but it looked really good. He loved all of our food. except for the wings. They weren't smoked, tasted more like they were frozen prior to, not fresh. We will still be back the next time we head to French Lick.

This place is absolute BBQ nirvana. The ribs are succulent and tasty dry rub with an option for wet…read moresauce. Brisket is peppery and smoky with just the right amount of fat. And the pulled pork is meaty, fatty and not swimming in too much bbq sauce. Side we as expected. The mac and cheese has a good deep flavor of cheese and the corn bread was home made goodness. The whole place is drenched in lots of cowboy theme on the walls and stainless steel in the open kitchen. It blows away Winklers hands down even though they had better greens. The best thing Porky's has is their wings. Not only do they have several sauces but they smoked their wings too! Underlying flavor of smoke was in every wing. We order 100 every football Sunday. I heard the worst news ever. Porky's was sold to another person who only took 8 months to kill a good business. What a real shame. This area needed a good BBQ restaurant. I hope the old owner opens up again somewhere else.

Formally called Bristol BBQ Poultry, the Amish smoked meat stand is inside the Bristol Amish Market…read moreand sells a full variety of German American style pork, beef, chicken and usual suspect sides. The aroma calls to you the second you walk into this warehouse sized market. Just take a number and wait on line for your chance to point and inquire. We may have overdone it, but ordered a whole spit roasted chicken, fried chicken breasts and wings, BBQ kielbasa and a quarter turkey. Although we purchased other things in the market, this was our largest haul. There is something special about interacting with a fully dressed Amish/Mennonite woman in frock and bonnet. Shyly friendly and endlessly willing to accommodate your requests, we found ourselves being more adventurous than normal. So far, we've tried the fried chicken (excellent when reheated in the air fryer), the rotisserie chicken (likewise), and the kielbasa (the sauce changes the bite & chew into a three dimensional experience). The turkey wasn't my fave, as I didn't care for the smokey flavor, nor the savoriness. Still, worth the travel time for the uniqueness of the experience. While we wouldn't rush back, we wouldn't hesitate to return when in that Amish black buggy mood.

SO this was a yelp special! My friends and I do a monthly dinner but the only rule is no chain…read morerestaurants (open to any suggestions). Went on yelp, found this place, and was pleasantly surprised. Walking in the sports bar was a little tight and packed but from the dining room in the back you couldn't hear any of the noise. Rylie was our server and she was the absolute perfect server for us. We are goofballs on a good day and a walking circus troupe on others. She laughed with us, gave us drink and appetizer suggestions, helped my indecisive behind pick and entree, and quickly became part of the family. She is the type of server that you come back to a place just to see. We love you RY ; We even got to meet the chef Al, the man responsible for the kick ass brisket tacos that our group is still talking about a week later. Making it our business to stop in for his smoked wings and ribs. Do yourself a favor and stop by this "blink and you'll miss it" roadside place, you and your wallet will be happy that you did!! Dinner for four, drinks, appetizers, and dessert....only $130 (before tip)

The floor in the main dinning room is pulling apart and is duct taped together. The chairs and tables are flimsy and falling apart. I asked for a blood orange margarita as it was the special of the day. It was not drinkable. It was some sort of powder or mix that was so sour and overly sweet. It did not have any tequila in it. I literally took one sip and left it there. The cheesesteak was good on a seeded roll. It was ribeye and it was done well. Hence tge two stars. The bbq platter had brisket, pulled chicken, ribs, corn and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was the best thing on the platter. The pulled chicken was sitting in a bowl of grease. The brisket was big globs of fat. The ribs were okay. They put a tiny line of sauce on each item. The service was rushed and spotty. I had heard good things, so we decided to give it a try. Very disappointed. There are so many good places around this area now, there is no need to go here again.

I'm going to sit down and give this a proper review, so here goes... over the years I've gone back…read moreto Sweet Lucy's. I can't go often, since it's not that close to me, but when I go, I typically order the rib platter. I typically get the same sides (beans and mac n cheese) along with cornbread. It is certainly more deserving than my initial 3 star review on my successive visits, but I never updated my review. Not everyone will love the sauce, which tastes more tomato-based, but that's okay. As I've gotten older, I appreciate it more. It's almost like... they put... ketchup... in the sauce... and if that's what it is, I'm fine with it. It tastes good. The ribs on that initial visit were tough; that's not a lie. On three visits afterwards, it was not as tough as the first time. On my most recent visit today, the ribs were really, really tender. Like... this is how tender ribs should be. The only difference between my experiences before versus now is I placed a takeout order this time whereas I always ate at the restaurant before. If takeout will always yield the freshest, most tender ribs, I'm good with ordering takeout from now on. The ribs were tender to the point of being delicate. They were SO GOOD. Even the rib that looked like it could've been tough was tender. That's how you know ribs are good. I would give 5 stars for just the ribs alone, but aha... there were more items... baked beans... SO GOOD... they have sausage bits in them. Cornbread... baked fresh and cut in front of my eyes... WARM, SOFT, FLUFFY.... SOoo GOOOOD... the mac n cheese... well, ehhh... can't win them all... it was just mac n cheese. I have to remember to order something other than mac n cheese next time, but I always forget because I don't go here often enough. Still, this is a 5 star meal all the way and I look forward to more meals like this. I thought I had to drive over to Camden all this time to get tender ribs. Let's say that all again... the ribs are damn good... tender and juicy. Yums. Go get some. Parking lot on the premises. Hope you get the same experience I just did.
