Mission BBQ is a good choice if you're up for some fast barbecue. My family tried a variety of dishes and they were all tasty. My favorite was the turkey which I ate with some of the Nashville Hot sauce. The brisket, ribs and pulled chicken were good with the different choices of barbecue sauce that were at our table. The sauces ranged from sweet to smoky. Everyone enjoyed the side dishes, along with the square of cornbread that came with each dish. The service was very friendly, especially since we were there very close to closing. We'll definitely be visiting Mission BBQ again. read more

we flew into Nashville from Colorado and wanted our first meal to be good bbq and Mission certainly delivered. I am not a huge bbq girl myself but the brisket sandwich with a side of mac & cheese hit the spot in a way i didn't even know was possible. Boyfriend got the brisket and polled pork with mac & cheese as well and all i need to say is that there certainly wasn't any food left on our plates by the end of the meal. I absolutely loved the food that I got which was the brisket and sausages. They were so delicious and the best. My father and I are big foodies and love barbecue, however my father didn't enjoy his food as much compared to other places, but the service was amazingly kind and the manager came over to our table and talked to us taking our critique as conservative criticism and was very nice. She also made it up to my dad with free samples and such. It was great and I would definitely recommend this place! The only thing I would say is the place is extremely extroversive and at noon had us stand up for the national anthem and for more of an introvert with anxiety, it was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone. However the food was so delicious it was worth it and I will go again and share with friends! read more

It was my first time and as soon as you walk in you see the decorations that show the respect they have for our nation and our troops. The next thing that caught my attention was the delicious smell of the smoked meats and the bbq. The lady who helped us was genuine and kind and went out of the way to make sure we got what we wanted and understood the menu. She even let me sample something before i ordered it! I ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich combo it was delicious and had plenty of meat. My cousin got the pulled chicken but they gave him the pork but they made him the chicken and put the pulled pork in a to go box for him which was very cool! Pretty half-in-half in satisfaction here: corn bread is sweet but DRY as a bone in the desert; my brisket was an end piece and should NOT have been served to me as it was dry, but my husband's was OK. Being somewhat of a BBQ snob from Texas and southern Alabama/Northwest Florida I decided to give them a whirl. Since this one of those franchise BBQ places they seem to lose a bit in the translation from the original. I have to admit that Mission BBQ hit the nail on the head with this one. The ribs were smoky yet well seasoned, juicy but not wet. The store is just a casual spot off of Medical Parkway and the staff were awesome. Ribs = salty. Brisket = They asked if we wanted lean or juicy. Let's go with juicy. We ended up with brisket with a layer of fat and dry meat. How is that possible ? It was also salty. Smoked turkey was ok. Not salty or dry. Green beans could have been good but they were too salty. Potato salad was ok. Corn bread was sweet yellow corn bread and it was ok. Baked beans were OK but the more you ate the more you realize it's too salty. The sauces all sucked. They had a bottle of mystery vinegar stuff which was not as good as Whitts vinegar sauce. Mediocre BBQ. Plenty of better option for bbq. I had high hopes but they all went out the window....along with all of the over salted food. We recently chose Mission BBQ to be the caterers for my daughter's wedding in Murfreesboro and they did not disappoint. We changed our plans from an outdoor casual meal on the Mansion back patio, to a more formal meal inside Maney Hall. This was our first visit to Mission BBQ....and our last. My wife and I both ordered the Beef Brisket Meat Market Combo. It was more fat than meat. And the brisket was on brown paper which was covered in grease. It is really poor when you pay almost $9 for brisket and you end up with a plate full of fat. It was truly gross! Also, as my wife started to sit at a table while I was ordering the food, a couple walked up and started to sit at the same table. The lady asked my wife if she was going to take the table and she said yes. Her husband calls my wife a stupid b. Wow! Wish I had been there! We celebrated our Poppy's 80th birthday last night at Mission BBQ. I can't say enough about how great they were to us! Our entire family was treated with so much love and respect! The staff at Mission went above and beyond help us give our family hero an 80th birthday party none of us will ever forget! From the beginning of planning right up until the minute the party ended, they were there to help! Our hero has his photo in his own booth now! THANK YOU SO MUCH! And happy birthday to my father-in-law, Jerry W Newman, my own personal hero, 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, 28 years of military service, followed by another 20 year career as a corrections officer. Even in retirement, he continued to serve his community as a school crossing guard! This man's service to his country never ends! And Mission BBQ gave him full recognition! I was blown away. Their ribs are to die for. I would say 9.5/10, and only reason for the .5 is that I couldn't grab a beer while I was enjoying the amazing BBQ. The pulled chicken is phenomenal! I prefer the meat market platter over the sandwich because their cornbread is bomb.
