Three meat platter - brisket, pulled pork and cheddar & jalapeno sausage - with bbq baked beans, and cornbread. Yum!
    Ian S.

We had enjoyed Mission at several fundraisers and school events, and on a whim decided to pop by the Springfield location and grab dinner on a summer weeknight. The staff was super friendly, and our food arrived quickly. I went with the three meat sampler - pulled pork, brisket and cheddar & jalapeno sausage - with bbq baked beans, mac & cheese and a piece of cornbread. Paid the upcharge for the 911 memorial refillable cup, with the proceeds going to local first responders. Enjoyed everything, and appreciated the recommendation for the mustard with the sausage. The sauces were all as advertised, delicious and diverse. The pulled pork and brisket were prepared well but a little plain - the sauces were necessary. Sides were good, enjoyed those a lot. The ambiance and vibe is very patriotic, pro-veterans and first responders, and they live their name and ideal. It was a good meal and we will absolutely be back.

Ok so I have been in search of a good bbq place but Mission BBQ is actually pretty freaking great! I was in the area and happen to see it. Never being to one, I made a mental note to come back and give them a try. Very good bbq, sides, sauces and service. I mentioned it was my first time and they gave me a free dessert their yummy bread pudding. Packaging for take out orders is on point and they review your order before bagging it. Who doesn't love that? How many time have you've gone home to find an order screwed up?! Not here! I ordered the brisket which was really good and tried both types of ribs. I really like that you can purchase the ribs by the bone. I opted for Mac and cheese side and the baked beans with brisket bits. Both sides were made well and just yummy. The order comes with corn bread which was also very good. They had all the sauces in small containers for takeout so I grabbed them all. Prices are reasonable for the portions and the service was really good, efficient and pleasant. For sure this will be my go to for bbq!

It was our anniversary dinner and the restaurant we were reserved for closed temporarily for that day, bummer. So, my husband suggested BBQ and lone behold this place was down the road from our initial restaurant. Let's say eating here made up for the disappointment from the other restaurant being closed. The food was great (all of it) and the workers were really nice.

Okay, I wasn't sure how I would like it because I grew up with southern cooks in my family. Surprisingly, it was good. The beef, chicken and pork was so tender, it melted in your mouth. Mac n cheese, not your momma's but it was good. Cornbread, good. Coleslaw, so so Rolls, taste store brought. Ice tea & lemonade, taste like a big jug of Crystal Lite.

NC pulled pork sandwich, cheesy potatoes (the best), and cherry cheesecake (also the best). I like the Tupelo Honey Heat bbq sauce as well.

I just absolutely love this place! I give five stars for a truly exceptional experience that sticks with me, and that is Mission BBQ. Not only is their food delicious, but they are incredibly warm and welcoming to each visitor. Food wise, we usually get the NC pulled pork sandwich, cheesy potatoes, mac & cheese, and cherry cheesecake. Also love the cornbread. I often eat in for lunch - it's a great space with high ceilings and memorabilia honoring veterans. So, I could go on and on, but to sum it up: it's a really exceptional place on all fronts, and the food and positive staff really stand out!

The manager was so kind and said hello to everyone. It was nice to hear that we were always welcome. The food came out quickly and it was hot and delicious. The Mac and cheese was just incredible. The ambiance was very relaxing and country. I would highly recommend eating here and will definitely be back.

I was served a vodka martini in a tiny glass, only slightly bigger than a shot glass. The bartender also fished green olives out of a jar with his fingers. This visit was slightly better as we were greeted right away with a smile, but I noticed the bar ware hadn't changed much. My vodka martini was served in a small glass with no stem, and our bartender again used his fingers, rather than a spoon or cocktail skewer, to extract the olives. The wooden facade behind the bar could be classy and beautiful but appears to be just an afterthought with only a few types of liquor lined up on it. This place seems to be more focused on beer. I did like the open windows which had tables directly under them although my favorite piece of decor is the original Victory Cleaners sign that hangs on the wall opposite the bar. If you're a beer drinker, this is more of a place for you, as the emphasis is more on beer than specialty cocktails.

A large pepperoni pizza. And 1 large cheese steak/whiz wit fried onions . We dig into the pizza first...I'd say its good. Not super great but good. Id say 4 out of 5. Only because it was a little flimsy when eating. It was real good flavor but almost fork and knife pizza. But to me that's okay. The flavor was on point. I would consider reordering. The egg rolls were real good. I actually sucked these down with my wife on the way home. It was like 3 egg rolls but maybe not as big as Chinese food eggrolls. But i would recommend. Maybe slightly on the pricey side but damn good. So I was on the fence about things until this cheese steak. The meat seems better than most in the area. I would say that it was a hair light on the whiz cheese and a few too many onions away from being perfect. The roll was slightly soggy by the time I got to it. But that was my fault. This steak is why I posted this review. I might order again tomorrow. Highly recommended.

I don't know when this location went so far downhill, but this was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. I was told my food was ready at 9:12 and didn't actually receive it until 9:40 after having to walk inside myself and ask for it. On top of that, I ordered a medium well steak and it came out completely charred black. The bread was stale and hard, they forgot the butter for the sweet potato, and the Brussels sprouts had so much salt dumped on them they were basically inedible. To make things even more unprofessional, while customers were waiting outside, two bus boys were standing there talking to each other while one showed the other pictures on his phone saying, "Look at this girl, I'm sleeping with her and her friend." Completely inappropriate behavior in front of customers. Really sad to see because this used to be one of my favorite spots.

If definitely fed into our decision but we were looking for something nearby as my godmother wanted to take us to dinner for our anniversary after seeing our daughters in Newsies nearby. As always, I booked our table under my moniker, Sir Cornelius Silkbottom, to which the person taking reservations seemed a bit apprehensive, as I am very used to at this point. However, our reservation was perfect, and when we showed up at the nice little restaurant attached to the Inn at Swarthmore, we were seated right away, and next to the large windows that open up to the seated patio with a beautiful view of the golden hour of the day. One thing that was a little strange was that they charged for bread. Throughout our meal we kept having questions about what the true intention of what the Broad Table was going for in their presentation and their service. Our server and the staff was very nice, but we couldn't put our finger on whether the place is supposed to be very high-end, and upscale farmhouse style new American joint, farm-to-table, or what the heck was going on here. All I do know is that we enjoyed the heck out of what we ordered. Where they seemed to shine the most was in the very little nuanced things; a sweet lavender butter provided with the bread was a show stopper. The beet sauce along with my halibut was also outstanding. Everyone's meal was great, but we simply couldn't pin a label on this place, which may be the very purpose to begin with. Maybe Broad Table doesn't need a label or to be boxed in, and it really doesn't matter because it's delicious and the selection is varied enough for everyone! What is great about Broad Table Tavern is that it can be a standalone bar, a restaurant, and if you happen to be staying at the Inn, it is definitely a place to go for your meals. It's not cheap, but it is a great stop that will Make things easy for meals especially if you are here visiting kids in college to for a conference or another event. If you are in the area, this can easily become a place for a nice meal for two or a group, but as the evening gets later, the space becomes a bit more intimate for a date and it isn't too loud, sometimes featuring a live pianist. I suggest you try it out if you live in the area or happen to be traveling here, it will not disappoint!
