The restaurant is well decorated with all the military stuff but rustic! It was very nice. It is like a fast food setting. We went up to ordered. And the cashier is friendly and explained to me what is the different options since it is my first time! Food is amazing. I have the brisket sandwiches, others have pulled pork combo with cornbread and fries or Mac& cheese. Overall the brisket is amazing. I like that it has a little fat and it is so tender and juicy! We were greeted by a young man taking our order and asked if we had been there before. I had, but my friend had not, so he walked us through the menu and pricing and described the various menu items in detail and how the meats were smoked & prepared. We placed our order for Brisket sandwiches and coleslaw and went to pick up our order where we found samples of their brownies to try. When we sat down with our meal, Abigail came over to thank us and gave us a free Peach Cobler on a tray that said "Thanks you for coming in, Please try our Cobbler for dessert" and also gave us coupons for 2 free sandwiches on our next visit. What is there not to say about this place?! Absolutely fantastic every single time. Nicholas at the counter was so incredibly kind and walked us through the whole menu and was so patient. The ribeye was tender and could be cut with a butter knife. It was seasoned to perfection! The brisket was great but even better with their Texas BBQ sauce! The fries were crispy and fresh. I didn't care for the order at counter . There's way too many options to be discussed . We waited 15 minutes to get to the girl to put our order in . There was 1 lady in front of us. She had a question about everything. The girl taking the order not only answered those questions but added her twists to it. We were wondering why the parking lot was empty. The prices looked high but not ridiculous, if food was good then not a problem. I think the empty parking lot and ordering yourself was a true sign to get out asap. However, the sauce options could use some improvement. It was disappointing that the most sides contained meat, limiting options for those who prefer or need meat-free choices. The staff was friendly, which was a plus. One unexpected experience was that the entire restaurant was required to stand for the national anthem, which is apparently played daily at noon. It is always clean, I've been here multiple times. I always get the smoked chicken and green beans with bacon. The meals come with corn bread which is also delicious. Mission BBQ is always good. What's keeping me from a five star review on this visit? The sirloin black plate special is! A steak two sides and a drink were $24. The steak itself was properly seasoned, however, is one of the toughest steaks I've had at a restaurant in a long, long time -- it was so tough that the plastic utensils they gave me could barely cut it... Now I do understand this is a barbecue restaurant and not a steak restaurant however, for what they charge for that steak it should be presented properly. As always, the fries and green beans were delicious and the giant drink cup is certainly appreciated! Mission BBQ is still a great place and it remains on my highly recommended list. However, you might want to stick with one of their other choices for protein, including salmon, pulled pork, pulled chicken, turkey, ribs, or sausage. All of those are excellent! read more

She was from Hawaii also and Korean such a coincidence. The food here was fantastic I had the pulled chicken sandwich and the fries were fantastic, I loved it and wanted more. Visited on a Friday for lunch. Party of five celebrating a promotion. Aiden was extremely helpful with ordering, as some of us were new to this restaurant. I used this location as the caterers for my wedding and it was the best experience! Chelsea was so helpful every step of the way. We had a consultation with her and it was so amazing, we were able to try all of the food and figure out exactly what we wanted. We could also see how the displays would be set up and pick out decorations and signage. We placed our initial order then but were able to update it until a week before the wedding. They were prompt, the services were so friendly, and the food was delicious! We've received so many compliments about our wedding food. We go here frequently but I never thought to write another review. They have a black plate special that changes. It could be a steak, fish, ribs etc. It never disappoints. We were just there and ordered our staple brisket and aa salad with chicken on it. The salad was loaded with chicken, so much I had to take some off to get to the salad part. A good place to eat in the Tampa area According to the web, the Mission Barbeque Brand ..." is an American barbecue restaurant chain based in Glen Burnie, Maryland". Two people (Kraus and Newton) opened the first location on September 11, 2011, as a way to support the military, police, firefighters, and first responders. As of April 2023 there were 95 of these restaurants in the United States. All of the locations that I have been to have the same basic layout. You order and pay at one end of a counter and when your name is called, you pick up your food. The seating is wooden booths around the edge of the inner dining room with tables in the middle. Drinks are a serve-yourself affair right after the counter. First responders and military memorabilia line the walls. Food is served on metal trays and, obviously centers around barbeque. Each table has 6 barbeque sauces to choose from offering a variety of tastes for the customer. The food at this location was delicious. I had fries and a BBQ sandwich with tea. The staff was nice and the dining room and tables were kept clean. The prices are very reasonable for the current economy--definitely a place to visit for a good meal in the area. read more

It is on the pricey side for casual bbq (considering I went for lunch and spent $30 for two people on combo meals), but I have been twice and the food and the service has not disappointed me. The portion size is average but satisfactory for me personally. You have two options for the brisket (choose the non-lean option, it tastes way better). You can ask to sample them if you don't trust me. They have 6 BBQ sauces to choose from and a mayo-based/cream sauce (which i liked). The pulled pork sandwich NC style is good stuff.
