Slim Chickens has officially replaced Zaxby's as my favorite chicken spot! We live nearby, so we come here all the time, and it never disappoints. The chicken tenders are always fresh, and if you haven't tried them with the cayenne ranch dry rub, you're missing out! Pair that with the cayenne ranch dipping sauce, and it's the perfect combination. Another surprise favorite is their jar desserts. I've tried the strawberry dessert so far, and it was absolutely delicious. It's the perfect way to finish the meal. The service is great, too. The team is always friendly when we get to the drive-thru window, which makes every visit even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a new chicken place to try, I highly recommend Slim Chickens. Came in yesterday bc the Leanne's Meal was free. I figured it was a perfect opportunity to try them out. This special includes a drink, fries, 6 piece tenders, and Texas toast. We waited patiently for it and it did not take long at all. After we arrived and got our food, it ended up getting busy around 730 pm so we came at perfect timing. The crisp on the chicken and fries were pretty good. Although the fries were quite salty and the batter of the chicken tenders were quite peppery. I had it with the Cajun ranch and the honey bbq. Perhaps the sauce made it peppery but I didn't think so and the honey bbq was pretty smoky. My fave part of my meal was the mixture of the raspberry and peach tea and lemonade and the Texas toast. Pretty much everytime I go there there's something missing from the order and it's horrible! The fries are never hot and crispy! The chicken is chewy and when I ordered the fried okra it tasted freezer burnt and it wasn't fried completely! When I called to speak to the manager just to give feedback I was met with gaslighting and was told if I wanted crispy fries I had to order them extra crispy!‍‍ It didn't stop there I was also told the timer is set to a certain time ummmmm I've ordered okra before and it was NEVER undercooked and horrible! Then after reading the horrible reviews saying the exact same thing I'm saying. I called to speak to the manager again, supposedly a new one picked up, but mind you the first childish person I spoke to was in the background talking about me and what I said when i initially called in. Mind you I was calm, respectful and didn't cuss! I was just leaving feedback,so they can improve their service for the food we are paying for. The so-called manager sat on the phone and didn't say anything when I stated the last manager never took accountability for the food, and the reviews are all saying the same thing regarding the bad quality of the food! We were visiting family in the area for the holidays. This was their choice for lunch. And it turned out to be a very good one. We'd never heard of this chicken/fast food chain before. There's parking outside. Inside, there are booths, regular tables and high top tables. It was bright and clean. You order and pay at the counter. They bring the food to you when it's done. My husband and I decided to share some tenders. We chose their "hungry meal" which included 7 tenders, Texas toast, fries, and a medium drink. I swapped out the fries and ordered the side of potato salad instead. The meal also comes with your choice of two sauces (there are 6 house sauces for the tenders; and 8 sauces for the wings.) We chose one ranch and honey mustard. One of the things that I liked was that each menu item showed the calorie counts as well as the prices and what was included. The food was ready fairly fast. We got everything we'd ordered correctly. The tenders were lightly breaded and quite large in size. All white meat and very, very good. He had the ranch sauce, and I had the honey mustard. We each liked our choices. The Texas toast was okay (I gave it to him). And the potato salad was good -- light on the mayo, as I like it. I'd definitely come back here again in the future. Right now the closest branch to us is in Okeechobee, Florida. I'll be watching for more of their stores to be a bit nearer as they plan to expand -- and we hope more to be located in south Florida. read more

I figured I'd give this place a try since I was playing golf at Lexington oaks which is 4 minutes from this location. Came in to a very clean establishment. The restaurant was probably 25% of capacity, while the drive-thru was packed. This was the first time I have ever came here so I was not familiar with the menu. The young lady behind the counter was more than helpful and help me along the way. So I went with the four-piece tenders with fries some bread and a drink. Everything came out piping hot temperature wise. The chicken tenders lacked flavor to me they were just bland. Now the french fries were pretty awesome and the bread was good. I did get the mango habanero dipping sauce which is really good and I asked for another what she gave me. Overall it was okay, so I'm not sure if I will return or not. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It's got a nice set up. It's clean. It's convenient, but it's just not worth the money. Went and tried a couple of different things. I got the five and five which was a wing and tenders combo and the slim meal which had like five tenders in it and an extra thing of the garlic toast and a milkshake. The tenders were practically nuggets. I was very disappointed in the amount of food you got for the price you were paying. While tasty it just wasn't enough. It was like chicken slivers instead of chicken tenders. The wings were good normal size wings would you get anywhere nowadays. The fries were good and crispy and the milkshake was decent. This was my second time trying Slim Chickens. I went through the drive-thru to pick up my order. I ordered five tender meals with lemonade. However, when I got home and opened my box, I found only three tenders. It was disappointing not to receive the full order. I recommend checking your Togo order before leaving, as it seems difficult for them to get the count right. The food was still delicious, but the tenders seemed minor, and the fries weren't fresh. First time here! This morning, while waiting for my car to be serviced nearby, I walked in for brunch and tried their Chicken & Waffles. I was honestly pleasantly surprised, the waffle was fluffy and the chicken was delicious! I have to admit, I have drove past this place a few times and wasn't super excited about (another) chicken joint - but they're worth a try! Stopped in at Slim Chickens finally after having wanted to go for a while! I was so excited to check them out because my neighbors had been ordering their food and raving about it, so I thought I'd finally try it out. I went through the drive through so I wasn't able to experience the inside of the restaurant but from what I could see, there were a lot of people dining inside. The menu is extensive, which a bunch of different meal choices, but I went for the chicken sandwich and fries (because the girl who helped me out recommended them) and the Smokey cheddar wrap. When I ordered I waited about 10-15 minutes or so for my food, which was a pretty long time for a fast food drive through. When I got home and got the chance to try everything out, sadly I was pretty disappointed in what I received. The chicken sandwich was extremely overcooked and hard to chew, the tortilla on the wrap was so chewy and impossible to eat because the texture was not good. What I can say is that the fries were amazing and the ingredients inside the wrap itself were great. The sauces, we tried the ranch, spicy bbq and sriracha garlic, were incredible. We had Slim chickens for dinner on their first opening day. TLDR: we'd probably go back and try again because the price point is good (and we live right behind it so it's convenient), but we also really like chick'n fun, which is basically next door. Took awhile for us to order (expected for first day). Mac and cheese was 5/10. Kinda Watery. We ordered like 8 of the sauces to try a few and we liked most of them. Oreo milkshake was just like chik fil a 8/10. Tenders were crispy and I feel like they have more breading than Zaxby's. I like Zaxby's more. My husband said they're about the same to him in rating. The Texas toast was soaked in butter it was kinda gross lol. The chicken sandwich was good. Also uses the same butter spread as the Texas toast so it's like eating a Texas toast chicken sandwich. I prefer Chick-fil-A sandwiches over that. They do tiered cake desserts in a mason jar for $6. We'll definitely be back to try those when we want something sweet. Lol. Don't get the bone-in chicken. Taste like the kitchen staff boiled, then baked, then seasoned the chicken. My lemon pepper wings were definitely under seasoned because the parts that weren't seasoned taste like baked chicken. We visited slim chicken over the weekend. I saw that they recently opened so I wanted to give them a try even after seeing some of the review were a bit mixed. The inside is nice I love the guitar wall art in front that has Wesley Chapel written. The menu is a good amount of items to choice from for a chicken based restaurant so that was nice to see. I got the Buffalo chick Mac and my husband got a club sandwich. Both my kids got the tender meal. Now the service was not as great as I expected very quick and a little on the tude side but we looked past it. Skin chicken makes all there food fresh so we waited I feel the right amount of time for all of our food to come out. Now I will say my bowl was almost overwhelming with not only Mac and cheese but more shredded cheese and not just fried onions also scallions I feel like they should just do one and not the other and keep it true to Buffalo chicken Mac and not topping galore. The chicken club was okay but the bread is like a buttery garlic bread which was very strong in butter. And the kids tenders were good they enjoy it. I appreciate the staffing to handle unforeseen Friday foot traffic and beginning of weekend crowds. The food wasn't fresh hot and mainly warm (including fries). The restaurant was very clean and maintained by dining staff. They did an excellent job clearing tables and asking customers if they were finished to take their trays. Being the first day, the place was packed. The drive through was very slow but I think it was just the first day traffic that caused the slow down. Staff was nice and asked if I needed anything while I waited. Food wise, starting with the low... The mac and cheese was sad. The large was very small and the Mac reminded me of middle school cafateria food. Everything else was fantastic. The sandwich was good but the tender meal definitely gives you more bang for your buck. By far my favorite sauces were the sweet chili and the Sriracha garlic but I really can't knock any of them except the inferno. Inferno tasted like a mouth full of flaming dirt. I think that Slim's chicken may have given me some form of Alzheimer's. It was so decidedly "meh" that I sincerely have no memory of having eaten there. I know that I did eat there, because I took my family there, and they told me i ate with them. Plus, I have a receipt from there. The receipt says that I had chicken strips. The most unremarkable chicken strips in the history of processed chicken. I don't know if they were good, I don't think they were bad, I think that they were so incredibly mediocre that they left no impression on me at all. I remember being hungry and pulling in to slim's, then I remember driving away, not hungry anymore but with a grease stain on my shirt. I'm pretty sure that their food tastes like boredom.
