My husband, son, and I walked into the store on Saturday, and already on the following Tuesday, we have a gently used billiards and a bench that stores all of our cues, balls, and accessories that they supplied. It was a Christmas gift for the family, and we were not expecting such quick turn around. Peter and crew were very friendly, proficient, and efficient in not just service, but gave us a great deal for the entire set. When the crew came to our home to set the billiards up, they took their time to balance and tried out the billiards out and discovered that it was curving inward, so they fixed it completely and was well balanced and level before they left. The Christmas music was making them very happy as we listened to it while they set it up. The crew realized that the cue sticks were not up to par with what they were used to so we went back to the store to replace it. We picked up a few more things and they took great care of us. You can't judge a table by its felt! I guess you can't judge a business by its yelps either! I've had pool tables for 30+ years. My current table has been felted a couple of times. The most recent, I read all the yelps and delegated the task of refelting to my wife, since she was remodeling the house. The table needed to be moved, but not really refelted. I read all the yelps and decided mission was the right company. In all the years of play, no one ever complained about anything about this table. Not the slate, roll or the rails. They suggested to do the rails too. We figured they were old (they were Brunswick rails) so it may be smart to do them. BIG MISTAKE! After they were done, the table looked great!!! First game, one pocket rattled upon making a ball. Second game, a ball fell out. All pockets have 8 arms designed to hold them to the bottom, but only a few tethered. Thus balls falling out. After a few games, everybody realized something wasn't right. The rails aren't performing like they should. With new, they should bounce, like, wow! These, like, what? The table was felted at my residence, but the rails done at their shop. I think I received inferior, low quality, "made in China" rails/cushions. Can't prove it! Upon complaining, they offered to fix pockets and install new rails (they get 1 star 4 that) ... but I would NOT let these guys ever touch this table. PERIOD. NOT sure i believe the reviews, either. I think Pete gained the yelps and they bought the business. They don't know anything about Billiards (just my opinion) Buyer (yelp reader) beware! read more

I would not recommend Mission Billiards! They did beyond a subpar install of my table they used spray glue to put on the felt as well as spray glue on the cushions which started coming unglued and dead spots and the cushions were not quality cushions. Plus they used 3" bolts to fasten the sides when 2&1/2" bolts should have been used which caused the sides to separate as they are two piece. It's costing me now 1400.00 to have the sides repaired and new cushions and felt! read more

I called Mission Billiards back in August to do some work on a table that I bought from a neighbor. I got set up for a date, but I canceled because I found someone on offer up to come the same day. Excited as I was, I went for it. BIG MISTAKE. The guy did so many things that were wrong, I did not even want to deal with him. I paid a lot of money to them and it all went down the drain. I should have waited, haste makes waste. Last week I called Mission because there were some dead spots in the cushions, and I wanted them replaced. Howard answered and he came by to check out the table. They wrapped up the rails and took them to the show to replace the bumpers. It turns out the table that I had was a homemade-style table that did not have the proper type of wood on the rail. I was going to spend a decent amount on this table, but Howard recommended that it would not be worth it because the playability was not going to be as accurate. I'm not professional by all means, but I enjoy playing pool with my kids and improving my game. After all, I can't raise little sharks playing on a crooked table!!! Anyways, Howard hooked it up with an exquisite table, used, but in excellent condition, for a price, I would not be able to find. We called multiple moving services when we bought our used pool table but went with Mission because their rates were competitive and they were able to squeeze us in last minute since they were going to be in the area already (even knocked off $50 since it was on their way). Initially, based on the pictures I sent him, he thought new rails might be necessary. Some would say I'm a stickler for detail, others would say I'm an asshole when it comes to doing a job right. If I pay someone and they don't do a good job the first time, they never come come back because I'll hire someone else without thinking twice about it. I've been playing pool for 50 years, and the fact that Mission Billiards has done 4 brilliant jobs for me says all you need to know. Pistol Pete, H, and the rest of their crew were on time for every appointment, were very courteous, and they do magnificent work. They turned my 60 year old 9' table into a championship tournament worthy specimen. And I'm not close to joking. Over two years later my table is as perfect and level as it was the day they installed it. That's a surprise; normally I'd beat the shit out of an inferior table because I do a lot of masse shots and trick shots. Not a shocker, but during the pandemic I've played almost every day. I recommend you use Simonis 860 cloth and Aramith Pool balls for the best playing experience, and for longer table life before you need to have it refelted. There are moving companies that advertise they can move and set up tables; they can definitely move them, but it's a toss up whether they can set a table up correctly every time. Avoid them. All I know is if you hire some other company without the street cred and experience to set your table up there's a good chance you'll be cheated, frustrated, or dicked around. Maybe all at once! Every Orange County pool room I've played in has had their tables done and re-done by these guys for many years; when I admired the felt work they instantly gave me Pistol's info, and recommended his company with high praise. I've referred Mission Billiards to other pool playing friends, and they were all extremely happy with how everything turned out. Which makes me extremely happy. Pool is a great game when you play on a good table, and I look forward to playing on mine everyday. Have fun! read more
