I've been to Rush Bar & Grill a couple of times now for Tuesday night trivia, and it's always a good time. The guy who runs the trivia is great, and the questions are fun, interesting, and definitely make you think. It's become one of my favorite trivia nights in the area. The drinks are good, the bartenders are cool, and you really can't beat the $1 tacos. They're actually pretty darn good for a buck! Good people, good drinks, good food, and fun trivia. What more do you need on a Tuesday night? I'll definitely be back. read more

After work, I've took a long drive from North Orange County all the way to Lake Forest (South Orange County) for some food and drink at Jarrod Schulz's The Rush Bar and Grill. It's my first time at this bar and hopefully not the last. Now time for the fun part. I sat at the bar area to not only have a small talk with a bartender, but also have a decent drink, my usual drink at a dive bar or sports bar is the jack and coke (Jack Daniels and Coca-cola). Gotta love it. For the food.... I got me some southwest egg rolls, and California burger. Yum. First off, egg rolls was sooooo delicious, especially with that special sauce.... really nice kick to it. California burger is so good. Added bonus, I had some sauce leftover which I've tried it on the burger. Soooo good. Cost wasn't too bad. 10.95 for the egg rolls, 18.95 for the burger, and $10 for the jack and coke. Oh, and I didn't forget to tip the lady (bartender). Funny thing is, she had no idea I'm left handed. I'm just glad my parents never smacked my left hand for writing with my left hand. Before I left the parking lot, some guy saw me, and was telling me how great Jarrod is. I've heard of him long time ago. One day, I'll introduce myself to Jarrod. Hopefully soon enough. Not surprised .., but I've been a regular at this bar since before it was bought out by the new owner Jared. I have been coming here for years and years and sometimes come by around four times a week. On Fourth of July, my man and I stopped by like usual since we always know people who are there (all the other regulars) and decided to go out to the patio to sit down for a smoke with them. We were sitting for about 10 minutes before Jared sent a worker to come kick us out because we didn't buy a drink. First off, I'm sorry I'm not an alcoholic and didn't buy a drink within the first few minutes of sitting down. Second off, how do you have the audacity to do that to a regular who has brought in so much profit and friends throughout the years for you? I literally gave you business. I am a female and come here by myself regularly (several times a week). I have ZERO safety concerns, nor have I ever been assaulted by anyone. It's a friendly bar, both patrons and staff, especially Rochelle, Kaytlyn, Frankie, and Tammy. I'm not sure what happened with the previous poster from today but that has never been my experience. This bar, tucked in the corner of a strip mall off El Toro Road is a neighborhood gem. I love everything about it. The Food is excellent and they have weekly specials off the menu. The entertainment is tops with live music Fridays and Saturdays featuring a great variety of bands guaranteed to be amongst the best. Plus karaoke, Bingo and Trivia nights. And the best? That's the service. The bartenders are beautiful and very attentive to the patrons. They also have a safe environment with most people being regulars and very respectful to each other. I enjoy watching sports at this classic hole in the wall bar and grill. The pub food hits and the fries are solid! The sound for the most popular event is on so you can hear what's happening. Had some time to kill on Sunday and stopped by Rush Bar and Grill on a whim -- glad I did. They had a live band playing, the vibe was great, and the place was packed with good people for a Sunday afternoon. Our bartender, Tami, was awesome -- super attentive, friendly, and made sure the drinks were poured just right. Prices were surprisingly reasonable too. We ended up hanging around for lunch. The buffalo wings were absolutely on point, and the nachos were huge -- easily enough to feed a family. The table next to us ordered a BBQ chicken pizza that looked incredible, definitely coming back to try that next time. Bartenders here are often rude, and they try to kick people out before 2:00 AM. The restrooms smell like pee, which makes the place even less pleasant. I wish I could give less than one star because of the girl working at the bar on 3/14-3/15. She refused to give me her name for this review. I understand that everyone wants to go home, but if the bar closes at 2:00 AM, then staff should be prepared to work until at least that time--not start rushing people out at 1:30 AM. I used to work as a bartender and waitress myself, so I understand how the job works. But if your closing time is 2:00 AM, then that's the time you should actually close. Anthony gave his name and was nice, but the girl... she was extremely rude and honestly does not belong behind the bar. We got there at 10:30 PM, so it's not like we showed up last minute. Lived in Laguna hills my whole life finally decided to go out and try this bar since I've been going out more. Went here on a slow Saturday night. There were two red head bartenders-horrible service. They would just look at me standing there and turn around and ignore me. I understand if they were busy but it was literally just myself. The only positive side is the dart games and going with my friends to play . But getting a drink and just paying for it was terrible. Wednesday night 7 pm sit at the bar 5 minutes to get first beer. Never ask if I need a menu put my empty glass in the well 20 minutes later one of the girls take my glass. No one ever asked me if I want another beer 25 minutes later would you like another beer bartender behind the bar six people sitting at the bar. They stand there chatting sipping there drinks. I've been in bars all over the world. I'm originally from Chicago. This is one of my worst experiences. I planned on coming out having five or six beers and dinner. Instead I'm walking out. I Definitely won't be back. I usually tip about 30% not tonight also noticed they use the F word with their customers . The language is awful. read more

Tuesday trivia is great. Ozzy is the best! The food is good and the bartenders are attentive. We stayed for karaoke after and it was too loud, the karaoke guy was rude! So many customers left because he was not friendly and wouldn't help anyone with the sign up process or would yell at them. Yikes. If you want great trivia and good food and cold beer go on Tuesday! Absolutely terrible experience at Rush Bar and Grill. The service was slow from the moment we walked in, and the old lady with red hair was unbelievably rude for no reason at all. She acted annoyed anytime we asked for anything and made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable. Drinks took forever, staff seemed disorganized, and customer service was honestly one of the worst I've experienced at a bar. I now love playing darts because of this place! They have three electronic dart machines that have game options and different modes. My buddies and I play normal or cricket mode. They have darts for you to use, but they aren't in the best shape, so we bring our own! You can also join their dart league every week on Wednesdays. Not entirely sure when signup is or how it works; my buddy is in the league! The vibes here are chill, and have plenty of seating inside. I recently got their wings, which were seasoned well and crispy! Totally Worth it. I got the buffalo and lemon pepper. Was looking for a place to watch an early morning Michigan vs Washington game. Tammy helped us service and food were excellent

Went on 4/4 enjoyed our friend Dj Long Island spins, as I ordered I food to go, bar servers she refused to send drink to my friend, or issue any drinks to myself my original order . There was no conflict I am unsure what issue was beyond we were both black males and she felt he had a different beer than I sent. My wife and I staying in a nice hotel in Lake Forest and decided to find a nice little bar and grill! Our concierge recommended Rush Bar and Grill, as it was only a few blocks away! It was delightful! A cozy bar with a really great band was playing! People were dancing and really enjoying themselves! It seemed like a friendly and intimate place! We o4dered their famous grilled cheese sandwich, chossing the ham option and it was great! The best grilled cheese sandwich either of us could remember! The bar had about and every draft and bottled beer, large wine offerings and canned cocktail drinks! Probably more that we didn't think of! The prices were very reasonable! Came to Rush Bar last night to meet up with a friend for drinks and dancing and DJ Dee did not disappoint. We danced so much that I had to sit a few times just to catch my breath. He even offered to let some girls do karaoke because they asked him. It was a really a great night and made driving down from Huntington Beach completely worth it.
