Not sure what happened here so disappointed won't be back for awhile. So they got high school kids working the registers that seemed very irritated because it was busy. We ordered 9 full size tacos and they were expensive they took 30 minutes to bring us 9 mini ones. There were 3 of us. They split the tacos between 2 plates. We asked 3 times for plates and never got them so had to eat off of napkins. Gross soggy wet napkins from dripping tacos that for some reason they served us slathered in salsa.....why would they start putting salsa on every taco? Not everyone wants spicy tacos, especially kids. Also surprised since every sign you see is about how they've had to raise their prices because of the cost. 9 tacos were $30. My favorite is The red beef burrito all meat so yummy ! The taquitos are also good but I was disappointed that they didn't give me the lettuce , cheese , sour cream that it usually comes with it. We haven't been here for a long time. So glad we DID!! My wife got chili rellano burrito with carne Asada inside and I ordered just a carne asada burrito with beans and rice on the side. My son got cheese quesadilla. Everything was so moist and delicious..... guacamole, beans and rice too. I spoke to the manager to tell her how pleased I was with everything and she was thanking me from the bottom of her heart. This place has gone downhill over the last couple of years. The service is abysmal at best. Simple orders take 30-min to an hour. If you want to hear every conspiracy theory around COVID, just go inside to order. The waiting area is packed with people not wearing masks or wearing them on their chins. The staff is extremely slow. The majority of the time they are filling their own drink cups in between taking orders. The employees handling the money are also handling food. It was suggested to try Mission Burrito. Decided to give it a go. I will never be back. It took 35 min for my To Go order that I ordered at the location. After 20 minutes I asked about it. I was assured that it was coming up shortly. After 30 minutes I inquired again and mentioned that if it had not been started that I wanted a full refund. The chef or main cook was very apologetic and asked if he could get it out fast. I accepted. The sad part was from tasting the shrimp it was cold, which led me to believe it was prepared on the fly and rushed. I'm very sad to say that after being regular customers of this restaurant for about 15 years, we will never be going back again. Our dinner experience their last week was absolutely ridiculous. We know that they get busy and so sometimes we call ahead and order our food to eat there so that it's ready or almost ready when we get there. So last week when I called in our order for two people, she said it would be 25 maybe 30 minutes. So we showed up there about 30 minutes after that and not surprising, our food wasn't ready. A lady standing next to us said she had been waiting an hour to get her food. So before I actually paid I asked the cashier how long tell our food was ready because if it was going to be long still I was just going to cancel the order and go somewhere else. She talk to the Cook and came back and said they're starting it now it will be 5 minutes. So I said okay and we paid and went and sat at a table. After sitting there for a good 25 minutes with no food I went back up there and asked about it and they asked what did you order it when I told him he said oh it'll just be a few seconds I'll bring it out. So back to the table I went to wait. At least 10 more minutes goes by with no food so I went up there again and at this point I don't have much patience. I spoke to a girl who I believe is in management and she asked again what I ordered. I told her and she said she would bring it out and I went and sat down again. A few minutes later she brought it to the table and I told her it took an hour and 15 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food and that it was absolutely ridiculous. I told her we were regulars and we were very disappointed with their service and she tells me that they gave our food to the wrong table. So I was like well when was anybody going to tell us this! She offered no apology or compensation, so I told her I thought they should comp our food for the trouble. After her hesitancy on that, she comped the 2 entrees (not the chips & soda for some reason but that was okay. Whatever). I ate my meal but my husband was just so irritated with the service and the attitude that he literally ended up leaving his burrito there untouched. He told them we would never be back. I like their crispy tacos. They have great specials nearly daily. It's too bad they charge for chips and salsa. I come here less frequently due to the that. Many other Mexican restaurants offer complimentary chips and salsa, at least the initial bowl. I would understand if they charged for refills. Sometimes misfortune leads to greater things... This is how I felt when our first choice for sushi was closed due to a power outage, and we needed to find another option for lunch locally. Luck have it we found Mission Burrito, a nice local spot in Simi Valley right across from Walmart. We got there for a late lunch and was happy to see that we missed the crowds and had a choice of seats indoors or outdoors. We ordered our food and after we got our drinks and chips with salsa and bean dip we found a comfy booth and waited for the main show. The salsa was very fresh and tasty, same with the beans, but those were quickly forgotten when our food hit the table. My wife got the fajitas which were delicious and I went with the chili relleno burrito with a side order of taquitos for good measure (don't judge me). My burrito was delicious and generous covered in an amazing rich sauce. My taquitos were also cooked perfect with the right amount of spices. The meat to tortilla ratio was a little off, being overstuffed with delicious shredded beef, but this was a delicious problem I will take every time. Overall prices were very good for what you got, service was very good (refills on chips and drinks though this is more of a fast food kind of place) and the food was absolutely delicious. Mission Burrito is a great place for those looking for average Mexican at an fair price. This restaurant has been around longer than I've been alive (and it looks that way) and has made a name for itself by providing tasty, inexpensive food that's affordable. Day and night you can count on large portions, friendly service and a quick turnaround on entrees and whether you eat inside or on the large patio, most seem to leave content. It's a great, laid back place for a meal whether solo, with a buddy or a large group. This is one of my grandma's favorite places, most notably because there's a large value meal. In fact, most older people order up a meal and take half of it home because the portions are so filling (and they load up on the Orange Bang). Meanwhile, anything on the menu brings average flavor, lots of calories and layers of rice and beans. You'll get simple, filling and non-expensive Mexican here. So I came in today on my lunch break to sit and dine. I orders 1 burrito meal combo and a drink. First off the couch gamer looking dude at the register was not polite or helpful and his responses were short and condescending. I sat myself and waited 30mins for no food to show. I saw one waiter with a burrito meal that was probably mine, I flagged him twice he just looked at me and kept walking. It took me to go see where my food was to discover it was sitting on the counter getting cold, not even under a heat lamp. When I questioned how long it was sitting they would not give me an answer. Only thing the manager said was do you want your food or not. I said I'm already having a bad experience and I could not trust how long my food was sitting since I caught them lying. I asked for a refund because I did not want what they were gonna serve and wanted a fresh on like everyone else but I didn't have the time to wait again. The manager said next time I come tell them I'm on a break, I stated that shouldn't matter its about service. He did not give me a full refund he charged me for the horchata I didn't even get to finish or have with my meal. The manager was more worried about hanging out with the table next to me because they were drinking. This was a frustrating experience and the manager didn't even care, they were mad I didn't want the food more than they cared about the service they provided. Had a pretty lousy experience. Ordered take out, a chimichanga and two beef tacos, which according to the menu on this Yelp page would be about $14 or $15. They charged me over $19. They have raised their prices significantly. Additionally, I had asked for extra salsa and when I got home I had received NO salsa, which is really annoying! Tried this place because reviews said they had great carne asada fries. This review is based off of a phone order. The first time I called I was hung up on when I asked about the carne asada fries. I called back because I really wanted to try the fries. I ordered the fries with guac and sour cream on the side. I specifically said Only Chicken & Cheese! With my wife's pregnancy the onions, tomatoes, etc, make her sick. I have to admit, after picking all of the things we didn't order off, we really did enjoy the quality of the food. It was delicious, but with all of the issues, I'll either stop at the bank for cash then hit Campos next door, or hit the drivethru @ Taco Bell on the corner. This was my first and last time here. The burrito was gooey and mushy and had peas, carrots, cabbage and some other weird vegetable that was not good. It was basically a chicken soup burrito. It was liquidy, super fast-food Americanized flavor, low quality ingrediants, and loaded with cheese. It was also not that cheap at 9 bucks. Guacamole was good. The beans were literally the roserita beans out of the can. They can fool the people who don't know any better but they can't fool me. Its amazing how crowded this place is but I guess they know their audience and are doing something right. This place is a disaster. We ordered two taco platters to go. A very simple order. Thirty minutes goes by. No food. Ok, fine. Forty five minutes goes by. No food. I asked to speak with a manager after seeing a group of 14 people that ordered after us eat their entire meal. Manger says that it will be ten more minutes. Almost an hour goes by and this jerk hands us our food and walks away. He didn't eveoffer us a drink while we waited, a credit or anything for having us wait for more than 55 minutes for two mini taco platters. Stay away from this place.
