The carne Asada nachos... not impressed

The nachos do not live up to their picture advertised.... Comes in a small box and did not expect it to be so small for the price

Such a cute little place. The customer service was great, very kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and the salsas were perfect.

Love the options for online ordering and pickup via their website. I had no idea that this was their second location, and growing up in Simi (and eating at most every place in town) I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that one. Super happy that I found the reviews for the location here in the town center. They were taking all of the covid precautions and even dealing with guests who did not want to wear masks. Love the commitment to safety. Also, love the food! The salsas, ands mole, were some of the best I've had in a while. Normally I don't expect a ton from Simi, but this is quickly becoming the go-to Mexican style food place in town!

Huarache Xpress is a must try! The location is very spacious, neat, and has nice lights outside. The owner is so very sweet, accommodating, and friendly. They make everything hand made and even use family recipes. I was surprised there were vegan options available and were also aware of veganism. I ordered the mushroom and potato tacos with refried beans. The tacos were delicious and so was the handmade salsa. The mushroom was particularly my favorite. It was seasoned so deliciously. The refried beans are fried with oil instead of lard which makes them vegan as long as you don't get the cheese on top. They were so yummy and I hadn't tried refrained beans in years since they are typically fried with lard. Such a great place and can't wait to go back.

If you're looking for great Authentic Mexican cuisine here it is ! From their signature Huarache Azteca to their Ice Cold Aguas Frescas the food and service here are Amazing. They use fresh ingredients, hand made Gorditas and Sopes. they have all sorts of salsas including my favorite spicy Salsa Macha! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a good home cook meal

The ambiance was good, the services quite quick and attentive. I ordered a Carne asada burrito which we ate before I could even take a picture....as it was delicious. The carne asada torta was quite good as well. I was craving pupusas and that is the reason we tried this place, I'll have to try to.ordered it with easy cheese as it was quite salty, but the beans and pork in it was delicious. Overall it was a pretty good experience. I'll recommend it and come back to try another dishes

I bought dinner tonight 2/10/22 for my family of 5. My final bill came to $102.25 I'm am very disappointed in the outcome of the quality of what we received. My daughter and I had ala cart enchiladas, mine should have had shredded beef which there was very little and hers was just cheese and there was not much cheese inside. My son ordered the tricolor burrito with chicken and there was very little chicken and so much sauce and beans it was drowning. My father ordered a regular carnitas burrito again, with very little meat. This was our first visit to your restaurant and we were hopeful for excellent Mexican food based on the Yelp reviews. I'm not sure what happened but if I have to give 1 star for the price I paid was not worth what I received.

Hard shell taco plate and tricolor burrito - both yummy!

Chips and salsa - YUM! Chips were nicely fried and not oily. The salsa is comes with is very tasty but there is also a salsa bar with about 6 other salsas to choose from. We tried them all and all had great flavor! Tricolor burrito - large and delicious. I ordered it with carne asada and all the flavors were so good. It's topped with green and red sauce, the tangy green was my favorite. Hard shelled tacos were delicious as well but eat them fast because the shells will get soft - they are only lightly fried. Shredded beef was substantial and flavorful and topped with fresh lettuce and tomato. Had a hard time finding the place because it wasn't located where google maps was pointing me to. It looked close to Larsen's but was actually near the old location of Macy's Men. Definitely want to come back and try some of the other menu options!

Recently moved to Simi Valley from SF Valley where Mexican food is everywhere. I was a little nervous to try this place as I love Mexican food and I grew up in a Mexican restaurant that my family owned. I did order to go. First when I walked in you get that Authentic Mexican Food smell, what a delightful smell. Next, the gentleman who saw me walk in greeted me and was extremely respectful and asked how my day was. Customer service is always a huge plus. Lastly the food, I got the Enchiladas Suzias which were so good, mmm honestly so juicy and the green salsa was so good. I also got the handmade taco with carnitas which was amazing! Carnitas were good and juice. Then we tried the quesadilla comal with asada, which was my favorite, carne asada was good and the taco was mmm, mmm good. Last but not least I had to try their huarache de pastor, WOW! I must say it's was full of meat and the ingredients for all the order was fresh! You must try this place!! Really! So good! So fresh! And customer service is on point!

Pretty big space but only one single toilet bathroom which was very clean & had an air freshener present so you didn't smell the person before you. Food- I had the steak fajitas. A little smaller than I was expecting but Omg this was sooooo tasty! Steak was perfectly cooked with a GREAT flavor/seasoning. Veggies were cooked just right so they were a little crisp without feeling slimy. I honestly think about this dish often & always try to find a reason to go back. Service- Fast, friendly & always able to accommodate our large party. Wait staff would notice your drinks being low & would promptly refill them or ask if you were ready to order another adult beverage. Drinks were decent but nothing that stood out to me. I've been hearing about how wonderful this Mexican restaurant is and I can see the community agrees! We waited about 20 minutes to be seated - not bad at all! The hostess, servers and busboys are so friendly and on top of EVERYTHING! They have a full bar, the margaritas are great! It's very loud in there so be prepared! Five of us dined and everyone loved their food! We started with shredded beef nachos which were wonderful! The chili verde, chicken enchiladas and asada plate were all a hit! I personally could not wait to order the chicken mole' enchiladas (I LOVE mole' and heard theirs was amazing) BUT THEY RAN OUT! So disappointed! That's all I wanted, never even looked at the menu! It's not even 7pm yet? Why oh why do you not have enough for the Friday night rush!!?? When our waitress came back to to tell me they ran out of it, (she was very sweet and apologetic) and she had already put everyone's order in - I had no idea what I wanted ‍ so I ordered a chicken taco which didn't come out until about 5-10 minutes after everyone else's food was served. Other than that snag (my reason for the 4 stars not 5) their food is awesome! I'm definitely wanting to come back for the mole' and highly recommend coming here!

Neon lights, cute signage, and overall they just did a really great job with the design and execution. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel cheap. Ambiance is definitely A+. For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey. Nice staff and a cute spot to diner, 5 stars in my books given the quality, taste of the food and the overall experience.

I also saw they had a taco flight. I knew I had to try those as well. I wanted to try all the different meat options to find the flavors I like. The Birria taco was my favorite flavor. Some of the meats were a little dry. I wish they had a little more flavor to them. They gave me two different salsas to add and that helped. But I would definitely like to see the flavors of the tacos improve. I always crave sushi. That was a must try for me. I thought I would try the fiesta mariachi roll for the first trip here. It was delicious. I'm craving more! I think next time I will have to try some of the other sushi options since this one was so good. Also since they basically have flights for everything..... We ended up wasting our time and had to scramble to find another place that could accommodate our group. What made the experience even worse was the way the staff handled it. While my dad was calmly trying to speak with the employees at the front desk to understand what happened, they literally walked away from him instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue. That level of disrespect and lack of customer service was unacceptable. If the restaurant has different policies for major events like the World Cup, they need to communicate that clearly and make sure all employees are giving customers accurate information. We definitely won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting good customer service.
