I can honestly say this spot did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was SO good, and the flavor was absolutely on point. I ordered the carne asada fries, and they were delicious! The carne asada was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the entire dish was packed with flavor. My sister ordered the grilled fish burrito, and she loved it as well. The fish was grilled perfectly and the burrito was flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the piña chamoy margarita, which was so good and had the perfect sweet, tangy, and chamoy flavor. I also got an horchata, and it was delicious too! This was my first time at Tacos 805, but definitely not my last. The food was fresh, flavorful, and everything we tried was delicious. I really enjoyed my meal here! I ordered 2 chicken enchiladas and 1 cheese enchilada with rice and beans, along with a nopal taco, which was really yummy! The only thing I didn't love was that the tortilla on my taco was a little undercooked, but overall everything had great flavor. My friend tried a few different things, including a birria taco, which she said was her favorite even though it was a little on the greasy side. She also ordered a one beef taco dorado, fish taco and shrimp taco and Jamaica. The rice especially had really great flavor! I also ordered an 805 Bowl with chicken to go for my mom, and she really enjoyed it! It's definitely a nice option if you're looking for something a little healthier. The service was great too! Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Everything here is absolutely amazing. The tacos are fantastic and the ceviche, both my regular order. The molcajete is the best thing on the menu, easily shared between 2 people for a full meal, or 4 with a couple more appetizers or tacos. The Carnitas and pork belly I can't actually tell the difference between the tacos, but both are incredible. Tacos 805 in Simi Valley is the Bomb!!! We visit this restaurant whenever we're visiting in SoCal and it never disappoints!!! A must visit if you're in Simi Valley. We were very hungry when we arrived and ordered their Cheese Enchiladas, Crispy Braised Beef Tacos and the very generous amount of Chips with guacamole and Salsa, and a side of Rice and Beans. Everything was super DELICIOUS!!! The drinks, a Modelo Machalada and Pina Aguas Fresca were so good and refreshing too!!! Service was excellent!!! Cool spot I like the ambience it's very chill. Staff was super nice, our waitress was Valeria and she was really attentive and had good energy The food was good. The quesabirria taco was great-the meat quality and the cheese just super tasty! I didn't love the pastor as it was ground instead of like strips of it, but the flavor was good. Tacos dorado was bomb. The guacamole was actually really flavorful with the chips and salsa. This salsa is average, but if you add some of the spicy salsa bottle to it, it elevates the flavor. Omg ! I was craving tacos,taquitos mexican rice chips and salsa. I was driving by simi and decided to try this place based on reviews I had 2 options but decided to try this spot ! The place is nice and seemed clean so that was great. Sadly the food didn't by far have a wow factor ! I was honestly starving since I had a long way home just got off exit to get . Here is my experience I asked for chicken taquitos and I happen to eat one on drive home that was meat not chicken I only eat chicken for health choices and somehow I ended up with beef that I did not order nor am i supposed to eat . Here is the pic of the difference between beef and chicken so sad but will definitely remember to always check before we drive off ! On another note there was no chips included thats fine, I guess but honestly every mexican restaurant always gives chips even if its to go in my opinion please Don't be stingy with salsa. Stopped in for a quick to go dinner on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was busy with people waiting outside. I went directly to back of restaurant to order and staff was super friendly in assisting with my order. Plus they have a good system to notify when you food is ready by texting. So what did I think? I ordered the 805 burrito and felt it was ok. I think my biggest issue with the burrito is that was salty. Too salty for me. Plus burrito had refried beans and I like whole beans. Plus a lot of rice and not so much meat. The tortilla was good. Given how salty my burrito was I probably wouldn't order this again, and wonder if other food items are as salty. Insanely good food, insanely fast service (sometimes slower during lunchtime because it gets so packed), and amazing staff. Our second time visiting Tacos 805 and just as good as our dinner visit with friends. Decided to have lunch there today and it did not disappoint. Very busy lunch crowd that did not impact the service or the food coming out of the kitchen. Plenty of TV's on the wall with all sports events while we enjoyed our chips and salsa, our server very friendly and accommodating. Food came out hot and flavorful, plenty of everything in the tacos, mine was the fish tacos and were outstanding the wife had the El pastor and Carne asada which both were flavorful and juicy, not dry like other places we have dined at. We will frequent this place a lot, prices are perfect and not expensive for lunch or dinner for two. If you are in Simi Valley and craving a taco and margarita this is your place without hesitation. Was having a New Year's Day taco and burrito craving, so we decided to order from Tacos805. I've been here a few times before when they first opened, and I've always thought their tacos were solid. This visit started off strong. The chips and salsa were absolutely wonderful--fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. The carne asada tacos, both flour and corn, were also very good. They're fairly basic, but sometimes simple is best. The steak had good flavor, was cooked well, and didn't need much else. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill with the Mar y Tierra shrimp and steak burrito. I was completely unimpressed. There's just way too much going on in that burrito. It was overloaded with sauce, making the entire burrito soggy and messy. The shrimp were very small, overly salty, and honestly took away from the overall flavor instead of enhancing it. The shrimp felt cheap and didn't pair well with the steak at all. If I were the owner, I'd strongly consider removing the shrimp from that burrito altogether and sticking to what this place clearly does well--chicken and carne asada. That's where they shine. Also worth noting: chips and salsa are charged separately, which is fine to know going in. Overall, I would definitely come back for the tacos only, but I would not order a burrito again. Stick to the basics here and you'll likely have a much better experience. read more

That's high praise indeed. I somehow was the black sheep, and ordered a torta, which was delicious. The chips plate is $9 and comes with salsa and guacamole. No free chips like in other places. If the food weren't as great as it is, this would cost one star off the review. But I'll let it go. Still, free chips and salsa should be a given. Service was also very good. I've been looking for a good one in Simi for a while and this one is not only delicious but is a HUGE portion. I recommend to add eggs to it. I also tried a Al pastor taco that tasted good and fresh. So after a fun filled morning with my family, my sister, my brother-in-law and my mom where we spent some time fishing at the Rancho Simi Duck Pond just to let the kids practice their casting and reeling in with their Uncle Joe, we decided to get lunch before heading back home. As we were driving, I told my wife, "ooh, what about that Mexican place your sister told us about with that epic burrito" And just like that... Off to Tacos 805 we went! When we first walked in, I noticed the place was pretty packed and there were lots of people sitting at the bar watching the game. And if you have EVER read any of my other reviews where tacos have been an option... You know for a fact that I that is what I'm getting! So with just a quick glance at the menu, I knew instantly what I would be getting: 1 Carne Asada. 1 Al Pastor. 1 Camarón. Aka angus steak, marinated pork, & fried shrimp. Of course I ordered a side of chips + salsa and a bottled Mexican Coke to complete my order. So how were the Tacos at Tacos 805 you ask... The tortillas are handmade which I love! The amount of meat in each taco was plentiful, this place definitely does not skimp. And the flavors of each taco definitely represented the 805 proud. Pleasantly surprised is probably an understatement for my experience at Tacos805. With the numerous taco options in Simi it's tough to break habit sometimes but I'm really happy that I finally got around to trying this place out. I tried a variety of tacos and the flavors were tremendous. But the winner of the meal was the quesabirra tacos with the consommé dip on the side. It was a flavor explosion and the consommé was used for the other dishes on the table. Located in an awkward shopping center across from Stater Brothers, Tacos805 is a smallish place with a decent sized bar. It's a clean establishment with plenty of TVs to keep everyone entertained. It's often difficult to find a great Taqueria in Simi Valley so when I heard about this place, I drove to the heart of Simi Valley to try their Taco and Quesoburro. They have their own beer and a full bar so if you wanted to fill yourself with spirits, come on down! They also have 5 large TV sets and a unique decor inside the restaurant. I tried their chicken, steak and Al Pastor Tacos and they're filling but seemed to lack flavor and substance. Their toasted Quesoburro is thick and great enough to fill anyone's tummy. However, they seem to under staffed, the place is space challenged and their tacos seem highly-priced. One of their male staff member seemed rude and and ill-mannered when I dropped by, he seemed not in the mood for serving us. He was pushing the chairs like seeing an unwelcome guest and not pleasant to show a smile or hello. I stopped in for a burrito to go, I took a glance at the menu, the offerings look pretty good. This burrito was going to seal their fate on any return visits. I picked up the Mar Y Tierra (Surf and Turf, Carne Asada & Shrimp) Burrito and a Large Horchata, ran me around 24.67. One green salsa and two red salsa. The burrito is good on its own, lets go ahead and put that out there. The tortilla its wrapped in is doing a great job of holding the burrito together, and it has a light toast on it. Not overly thick, but thick enough not to fall apart on every bite. I don't have any food allergies, or am I picky. I know there are folks who don't like cilantro. I'm not the biggest guacamole fan myself. That being said, the creamy cilantro salsa, and guacamole add a good texture to bring all of the flavors together. I dislike when Mexican food is LATHERED in guacamole. Thankfully; That was not my experience here, there is a nice balance to all of the ingredients to where I can taste the rice, the steak, and the shrimp and the light toasting of the tortilla holding everything together. The horchata is nothing special. And that's not a bad thing, some people try to do way too much with agua frescas. This is just plain ole traditional horchata de arroz from Mexico, not Semilla de Jicaro advertised as Mexican Horchata. Completely different flavors. (more of a personal rant in general lol) I hope this business is able to thrive in Simi Valley, I'm not local to the area, just work out here. But my go to taco spot for the last 5 years went missing. Look forward to coming back and trying the other offerings. I will also say this, someone actually complained they don't give free chips and salsa with your food in one of these reviews. And to that I say "never change" The burrito is good enough on its own, and 50/50 someone is actually eating included chips and salsa.
