We visited Mission Escape in Crofton last Thursday for my son's day, and had a great time! We did Mad Dog's Speakeasy and it was definitely challenginh but in a fun, rewarding way. It took a lot of thinking to connect the clues, and we ended up using quite a few hints to help us piece things together. Even with the difficulty, it was a really enjoyable experience and kept us engaged the whole time. The location is also a plus since it's in an outdoor mall, so there are plenty of spots to grab a bite to eat right next door. The second I walked in here with my friends the worker was rude and made judgy looks. They began being racist but we ignored it and tried to just move on and play, we then told him our email and number and gave our money but we had not signed the waiver yet. Then after a discussion because we had come close to closing we decided not to play and ask for a refund but he refused even though we had not even signed anything. DO NOT COME HERE!!! read more

A lot of fun! We did the Inventor room, which was very well done. We did escape but it was challenging in a good way! Only complaint is that we thought it was just going to be the four of us in there. They put us with a four other people. They were nice but the one person really took over and was not allowing anyone else to get the clues or locks. So I think escape rooms are better when it's just your group and friends. read more

We did an escape room as a last minute date. From booking over the phone to arriving our experience was great. The lady working was very friendly and helpful. We have done a lot of other escape rooms in the past. This one was fun but not the best we have ever done. The puzzles were challenging. Me and my husband were able to escape in time with only 2 hints. Would have liked a more immersive room with puzzles hidden under couch cushions etc. but it was definitely fun. I didn't like how much glass was in the speakeasy room. I understand it's a "bar" but there was a lot of glass bottles and that made me nervous and I wouldn't bring my daughter with me. I am use to escape rooms where all heck breaks loose once the timer is on, which is part of the fun, and I felt like I had to be delicate in this room. Convenient location, good price, and we will probably try to come back to do the other room! read more

I was really looking forward to going to this escape room, I have to say, it was really difficult to complete. But still lots of fun trying. This one has rooms with different levels of difficulty. Make sure you ask for a kid friendly one, if you are with kids and a beginner to this awesomely fun places. read more

we went to the Gambrills md location, don't bother to go. It's over priced for what you get, place hasn't been updated, couldn't even put batteries in the flashlight. one of the locks was broken so we couldn't get the next clue. save your money !!!! read more

My four young adult children and their significant others and I tried the Vault in Annapolis. It was hard but we used the clues and the very nice staff let us stay later because there was no one after us. The location in downtown Annapolis was great. read more

Too expensive for something that seems not planned. $30 per person for a one room escape. Only consisted of about 6 clues and 50 minutes was plenty of time with the unlimited clues. Staff was friendly and room was decorated nicely, but the whole experience wasn't as "involved" as other escape rooms. I wouldn't recommend it, and a refund would be nice for something that was too simple to be rated as 8.8/10. read more

This was an amazing experience. My mother suggested going to an escape room for her birthday along with dinner after. She made a reservation and invited 8 friends and family members. We had an amazing experience. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I arrived early so someone suggested I grab a bite to eat while I waited for the stragglers to arrive. Once everyone arrived, we were given a key to lock our items in a locker. Shortly after, we were given instructions on how to proceed. Once Instructions were given, we were then locked inside a room with clues and one hour to free ourselves. It took my group a couple of hints and quite a bit of time before we got into the groove of things. Unfortunately, we ran out of time. Speakeasy- if you're over 40 bring your readers and a flashlight. It's too dark in there. The tasks are very cerebral and a bit convoluted. Not fun. It's only 50 minutes instead of a full hour like most other companies. Went over to Escape Time and loved it. read more

They left the answers of other teams who played. Of course we didn't realize that while we were playing until afterwards. And we had finished the game with 35 mins to spare. We had a full room booked for our group in 'the inventor' room and it was subpar. This being my first experience in an escape room there was some excitement and fun but not much intrigue that would pull me back for more. There was a main task we had to complete but could not because the equipment did not work and charts were not correct. If you have pieces that are color coded, and a chart that is color coded and we are to match them, it seems this company can do an easy fix to make sure these all are accurate. Instead we asked for a clue and got a response of 'oh yeah, the broken light is white... oh yeah match the purple to red instead'...sarcastically and annoyed. The overall experience was ruined by the horrible customer service from the moment we walked in the door, being handed tablets with no instruction, to the end of our night when the employees said no words to us and went into their office and shut the door behind them as we are still coming out of the escape room. We collected our phones and jackets and left with zero acknowledgment from anyone. Her breakdown and instruction in the room was laughable. As she read the room story she said, this is pretty long but I have to read it to you anyways... well isn't that why we are here?? For the amount of money that groups pay to come to your business and have some fun, the customer service was so sad. Especially seeing the minimal amount of work they have to do. It was clearly towards the end of her night and she didn't care to intrigue us as important customers. I could never recommend friends to spend their money and time at this location. read more

This was our first experience at an escape room so I have no comparison, but it was outstanding!!! We started right on time and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Arrived to escape room and employee Zach was on I would assume personal phone call laughing. While we waited he went to his office and closed door. Came out 10 minutes later and said that we were passed the time to start the escape room. Told us to come back an hour later to try again. read more

My team has done about 25 rooms at this point, between Maryland, PA and Delaware. Mission Escape rooms are some of our favorites. Santa's Workshop in Waugh Chapel was really well laid out. This time I went with mom and my older brother, who had never escaped before. Then 2 couples shared the room. Even with strangers we escaped with 1 minute to spare and smiles all around. When you are stuck in a pattern, bored or want something new/fresh/different to do, Escape Rooms are perfect. The themes are always different so we are always excited to do the next challenge. It's like stepping into the board game clue. Can't wait for the new room at the Waugh Chapel location :-) read more

I wasn't sure how nice an escape room would be in the middle of a suburban shopping center, but it was great! I recently went with a group of friends and we were placed with strangers. I thought that might be awkward but it totally wasn't. I think the key to making it work is to start off on the right foot and include everyone as much as possible. The staff was wonderful and the room was great. We loved Santa's workshop, because there was enough challenges/tasks for everyone to get a chance to solve. We went here for my friends birthday party after dinner. From the very beginning the workers were just very rude. Huffing and puffing because they had to stay for us to do our room...mind you, they were still open for at least an hour and a half. Then when we were in the room and would ask for a clue, he would talk down to us as if we were stupid. This isn't the first escape room I've done but this is the first location I will not return to. I took my wife here for our anniversary and didn't know how she would react and didn't know what to expect, but this date was a hit! We went for the last scheduled hour of the day in the middle of the week and lucked out to have the room for ourselves. Lena and John were both incredibly nice and helpful to escape room noobs like us. We ultimately made it out but it was certainly a challenge. Tons of cool little antiques, riddles, and other puzzles. The integration of everything was amazing. There was even a really cool, surprise (not scary) moment during the experience that impressed my wife and I. We celebrated our son's 13th birthday at Mission Escape in Waugh Chapel. First we went tried Santa's Workshop and while the staff, room, props and atmosphere were amazing, the other group we were sharing the room with didn't exactly include us during the experience. You have to solve & follow the clues in order which doesn't leave much opportunity to break off and work separate parts of the whole escape. I asked the staff about a quarter- to- halfway through if maybe our family could come back and try going through as a private party instead. The staff was very understanding, going above & beyond anything we expected, offering to move our reservation to an opening later in the day and for the Alice in Wonderland escape. We went across the street to Queretaro for lunch and that was also a great experience. Going through more than one room also prepped us for what to look for when finding clues and allowed us to come together as a family to escape. In both rooms, we had our 2 year old & candy too, to keep her amused. Thanks again to the wonderful staff at Mission Escape, we plan on going to the Annapolis location soon! read more
