I can't say enough great things about this hotel. I was looking for a couple days away for a "staycation". At the recommendation of a friend, I booked a couple nights at Mission Pacific. I splurged for an ocean facing room because why not? When I booked my room, I requested an earlier check-in than the 4pm time they give you. This was 100% honored and then some. I called the day of my check-in to make sure I'd have a room upon arrival around 12pm. I was told they'd try their best, but just in case, they have storage for luggage if a room isn't available. When I arrived, they not only had a room for me, but upgraded me to a suite at no extra charge. This room was amazing! Great ocean view from the balcony, large bathtub, king sized bed, a little living area, and a great corner unit with tons of natural light. The location is so convenient as well! There's a ton of different dining options for all spending levels. The pier is right across the street and super easy to access. And, of course, the beach is right there. There are free beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas available on the beach for guests to use. I went to the rooftop bar on my first night there and had amazing service from Josue. I also ate a couple times at the High/Low for lunch and breakfast. Everything I ordered there was great! I opted for the pool instead of the ocean to get some sun and relax my next day there. It was super chill, had great views, and sun all day. For any issues that arose or questions I had, they provide you with a number to text. Every random question I had was answered quickly and the one "issue" I had (locked door to my hallway wasn't shutting and locking) was addressed immediately by their building engineers. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I'll definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to everyone! read more

Mission Pacific Hotel is a busy. Check in you get charge a $47 destination fee? I ask what this was for and front desk clerk said for water bottle in room and beach service. Not going to beach at night or before 11 am checkout. It is 48 degrees lol. Hotel bar is a weird set up in room facing away from coast. Nice view from room but not worth the cost! Heat on all night felt parched in morning could not turn it off. Crazy expensive drinks $$$$$ 6 drinks $154. WTH! Stay away! read more

Excellent weekend stay in the ocean view king suite! A new hotel across from the beach and adjacent to an equally beautiful sister hotel, Sea Bird. Check in was a breeze and the lobby felt luxurious, yet casual and chic. Our room was awesome! Probably one of the best hotel room floor plans I've stayed in; with a great entry, plenty of storage, a great couch/ sitting area, comfy chaise nook by the window and wide open bathroom with great shower and free standing soaking tub. Bed was very comfortable with the "8 pod" regulated temperature system that cools or heats the bed to your liking. The ocean view room was in a wing that faced the inner courtyard but had an angled view of the ocean. Ice machines and alkaline water stations on each floor was a plus. Overall, the room was the best part of our stay! Dog friendly for a (steep) fee. Nonetheless, we enjoyed having the pup with us and she defintely lived her best life in the room with us. The pool was on the rooftop with a great view. If you want a lounge chair with the pristine view on weekends, make sure you get there early. Pool was very minimalistic, limited lounge chairs and a few cabanas. Decent music playing in the background as you chill for a pool day. A couple of restaurants in the lobby, check out my review of Valle which was a great experience. Walking distance to bars/ cafes/ restaurants in Oceanside and you also have access to amenities at its sister hotel right across the street, Sea Bird. (Sunny's spa is at the Sea Bird, check my review on that too!) So why not 5 stars, you ask?! Well, we've stayed at a few hotels at this price point ($$$$) and Mission Point just missed a few finer details; Sun screen at the pool, more tailored service, amenities, and a few things missing from the room we had to request just to name a few points. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay! Tip: Valet parking is also pay-per- night and was fairly pricey ($44). There's a city lot one block down that you can pay for multiple overnights. read more

Beautiful new hotel in a fantastic location in Oceanside. Walking distance to the beach and excellent kids playground, as well as numerous shops and restaurants. Rooms felt new and clean. Ok sized suite - nothing huge and perhaps too small for two adults and a toddler but really great view of the beach. Loved the stand alone bath tub, and sliding doors that functioned as walls, deprecating the bathroom from the remaining suite. Water pressure wasn't great in bathroom but we made do. Excellent food at High Low Cafe downstairs. I'd recommend this clean modern hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Oceanside. read more

My family stayed here for 2 nights in 2 different rooms, a bohemian suite and 2 queen bed room. We were lucky to get the rooms next to each other having access, so it felt like a 2 bedroom apartment. The location is great and the views are amazing. I loved that we were able to walk to the pier and local restaurants and shops. Each room has a balcony as well, the suite has 2 one in common area and another in the bedroom. I read some reviews that mentioned the resort fee ($47/night each accommodation), but I thought it was pretty standard for a hotel at this level. Check in and check out was very quick and easy. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly. Valet service ($44/night each car) was pretty quick as well, they provide a number to text when you're ready for your car with estimated time. Took off a star because "kitchenette" is a bit misleading, there's no way to heat up/cook food. What's included is a fridge, toaster and single serving coffee maker. When I called guest services, I was told a microwave is no longer available in the rooms in order to encourage guests to eat out. It's fine that they're not provided, I just wish I knew ahead of time before packing any food for our trip. When the room is marketed for longer stays, I expected something to be available to reheat food. I also tried the food at High/Low and The Rooftop Bar. They were not bad, but nothing memorable either. Mostly good for the view/ambience. Nevertheless, overall my family had a positive experience and enjoyed the views during our short stay. Next time I'll make sure to bring luchables, top ramen and an electric water kettle instead of cooked food and a small pan. read more

Mission Pacific Hotel is great because of it's ambience. it's very clean and up- to-date. The room that was booked by me had a gorgeous bathtub that was also very well decorated and in-style. The Ocean view was breathtaking! Hotel receptionists/check-in stuff could be a little bit more welcoming. That's honestly the main reason why I gave it only 3 stars. We have stayed at this hotel twice already and both times we stayed at the Bohemian Suite which is a 1-bedroom with sofa bed, dining table, kitchenette and two balconies. This suite has a microwave but no cooktop or dishwasher. It has a great view of the pier and the ocean, the bed was comfortable and if you leave the sliding door to the balcony tad open, the ocean sounds will lull you to sleep. What makes this property stand out is the awesome customer service provided by the staff - from valet, bellhop, front desk, housekeeping, you name it, everyone was so kind, prompt in their responses and you can tell they want your stay and experience to be the best! read more

I've been a handful of times to the rooftop bar. I went during surfer girl, and the people in the elevator with us got seated right away once walking up to the hostess. I then walk up and there's now a wait list. I put my name in after saying to the hostess, the bar is packed and no seats. The hostess was a SUPER rude girl and I felt very unwelcome. The last thing she said was "the bar is that way" after not even looking at me signaling me to leave the hostess stand. I waited, asked again and finally decided to leave. On the way out I mentioned how rude the hostess was and how the people in front of us actually moved to the new open seats by the window glass. The host said he texted us and it ended up being the wrong number the rude hostess put in under my name. I get it was busy, but damn WHY YA GOTTA BE SO RUUUHHHUUUDE. AND DONTCHA KNOW IM HUMAN TOOOOOO. read more

This was a really lovely stay. The room is comfortably set up, outside porch had a great view of the ocean, and there were soft comfortable lounge chairs to enjoy the sunset. The bed was very comfortable and since the hotel is brand new, it was super clean and modern inside. The rooftop bar was spectacular and we had some of the best service there of any restaurant I've been to. The only downside was that a maid had left a showerhead somehow dripping onto the bathroom floor and I stepped in the puddle in the dark when first entering the room. This is a really nice and romantic getaway. The suites are even nicer, with a day bed by a window. Most of the views are from the side (we did not upgrade to the full ocean view) but even near the back of the building, very lovely. read more

First off, It's a great location, Booked one of the oceanfront rooms which was amazing and had a great view of the pier. Then came the concert across the street next to the pier.....that was loud....that went on until 10pm.... To the hotels credit, they did offer ear plugs which tells me... 1. this happens a lot 2. there is nothing they can do about it 3. don't want to hear you complain. However, for nearly $600 PER NIGHT, they should note when there are concerts across the way when you book or better sound proof the rooms. It was UNBEARABLY LOUD. What a great place to stay and have a staycation. The smell and ambiance of the hotel is excellent and very relaxing. We booked the ocean view sanctuary suite and really loved our view, the bath tub is very nice and chrome cast was a good touch to watch my favorite shows after a nice day at the beach or downtown. The pool at the roof top is also nice although it gets cold. I like the fact that I can also use the Seabird's pool and eat there too and just charge my room. Staff is friendly and accommodating. If ever I'm in Oceanside again I will definitely stay at Mission Pacific! read more

I paid $50 for a pool day pass and no one came around to ask if I needed anything and when I finally saw a young man and asked him for a drink, he said they didn't have anyone to take my order. He then proceeded to wander around a bit, maybe he could have taken my order? I then went myself to order drinks spilling the 3 drinks all the way to the pool door. Dinner at Valle Restaurant at the new Mission Pacific Hotel overlooking the Oside Pier on Saturday early evening. Note - we had vodka grapefruit cocktails in her yard before we arrived at the restaurant. We scored parking directly across the street that cost us 25 cents. We did the 4 course tasting. My friend Lynda Jeanne had a glass of Rioja Temperanillo and I had the Puerto del Sol cocktail. Note - we had vodka grapefruit cocktails in her yard before we arrived at the restaurant. We ended up ordering identical meals for courses 1-3 Tuetano y Erizo: The first course was the bone marrow brulee with the extra sea urchin. Rich, creamy and perfectly balanced. We talked about the Collaboration Kitchen event held at Catalina Offshore a few years ago that had an all you can eat uni bar. This dish brought back our memories of that night! Taco de Abulone: The second course was the abalone taco- forgive me for wolfing it down too quickly as you can see with what is left on the plate. Sorry chef- just too yummy! Back in the 70s, a friend named Don Gilbert (RIP) who was an abalone diver, had a party at his house in Encinitas where abalone fried in butter was served. I had never tasted it before, but that evening along with lots of cocktails I became obsessed and fell in love with abalone. I also continued to eat it even after the fryer was shut off and in combo with my alcohol consumption that evening the cold abalone with cold butter resulted in.. you can guess what happened. But that experience didn't destroy my love and the memories of that first taste. This course took me back to that moment. Setas Ostra: Third course was the amazing mushroom dish which was surprisingly vegetarian. I would return for this dish alone if i had to choose. You need to try it! Next was a bread plate with crispy flatbread, black bean bread and a multi grain bread. It was great but needed a larger portion of their butter mixture. I ate most of it since my friend is not a bread person. Lucky me! The final course was dessert. I had the Manzana: apple cheese tart, and Lynda had the Chocolate de Metate: the chocolate! The perfect end to a delicious tasting menu. We were there early and had almost the entire place to ourself. The staff, including the young Italian woman was excellent and made the meal a wonderful experience as we watched the beautiful sunset. The Chef is from Baja, and has a beautiful restaurant, Malva, in the Valle de Guadalupe- just east of Rosarita and Ensenada- this new venture brings a bit of the elevated dishes ( and wines from several of my favorite winemakers- Jorge Maciel, Paolini, and more- yay- from the region. This is not a taco shop restaurant- its focus is elevated cuisine with roots in baja and local proteins and produce from both sides of the border. I will return! read more

I just stayed at this hotel with my wife and it was a great relaxing location. They put us on the top floor and we had an "Oceanside view" where we were able to see the ocean from our patio. The first night we were there we were able to enjoy the sunset from the rooftop pool/bar which was gorgeous. The rooftop food and drinks were amazing and the customer service was awesome. The pina mia was my favorite cocktail. Two of my favorite things about this hotel probably are the amenities they have for their guest once you walk down to the beach. These amenities were having your beach towels, lounge chairs, and an umbrella set up for you on any spot on the beach. The other amazing thing at this hotel was their gym. I rarely see hotel gyms that have a squat rack with plated weights you can use. I really enjoyed being about to get a nice workout in before the beach or pool. If the squat rack wasn't enough they also have two portable benches with free weights up to 50lbs, kettlebells, two elliptically, three amazing treadmills with big screens that had Bluetooth and internet capabilities, two pelotons, and two weighted cable machines with towel service. The only part that stunk was parking is $45 a night for valet service(which they are super nice people), but there was a parking lot right across the hotel that was only $5 for 24HR parking that would reset at 12AM. If you're willing to work that hustle and get out of your bed at 11:58PM and get another ticket for the next day. It really wasn't too bad. Overall super nice new hotel, great amenities, great customer service, beautiful location, and awesome food and drinks. read more

This hotel has a great potential. It has been open for about a month now. Our room was 40 minutes late, which is not acceptable for the hotel that cost north of $500 a night. Experience Manager Cindy was nice enough to comp us for the resort fee for the two nights, which was a good gesture. Rooms are nice and clean, though no one appeared to clean our room the next day and replace the towels and the coffee. Not that I mind, but it seems a norm for high end hotels. Now to the food at the hotel. The restaurant downstairs where we had breakfast, has amazing food and service. Highly recommend it. The restaurant upstairs is a totally different issue. They charge $35 for 6 oysters, double the price of the steakhouse across the street. Apparently oysters double in price when consumed seven floors above the ground. I am not complaining about the price, I get it. The quality of the oysters was not only subpar, but borderline bad. If you charge double the usual price at least make sure your oysters raise to the occasion. Next issue we had is the service around the pool. For some reason tacos and oysters do not require napkins and utensils. The staff though friendly, needs to be trained. I understand that it is hard to find good people due to covid and hope that the above issues will be fixed. Tacos were good and priced reasonably. TV system freezes every ten minutes which makes watching any movie impossible. Tried several channels all have the same issue. When room service rings the bell, the fire alarm activates which is a bit odd. Wring connection? Shouldn't it ring instead:) I believe that this hotel has a great potential, but it needs some improvements with both the staff and the food or people will vote with their valets. read more

I would have given this resort a 5 star because everything was going so well up until we ordered room service. The gentleman who took our order reviewed everything with me. The order took almost an hour after being told 30mins. When the food arrived the young lady who delivered it told us she forgot the sorbet we ordered so she is going to comp our bill, however I still needed to sign. She said I'm going to have my manager credit you due to the fact she "forgot" the sorbet. She didn't say whether or not she was going to bring the sorbet. I called the gentleman back and told him about the situation, I still wanted my sorbet that I ordered. Why wouldn't t I want it. I also told him, not only did she forgot the sorbet. She didn't bring our water we ordered, she didn't bring ANY condiments, even though I specifically asked for ketchup, Mayo, and ranch for the chicken tenders since ranch is all they offered. Our fries were cold and there was no sauce for the tenders. Jailene ends up coming back 25 mins later with the condiments, we'll hell by then our food was super cold and we ate most of tenders DRY! When we checked out of the hotel I double checked the bill and noticed the entire charge for my room service was on there. The lady at the front said well did she end up bringing you the sorbet, I was like yes! I then needed to reexplain that entire ordeal to her because she was acting like the charge still applied. She ended up saying I will remove the destination fee of $44 however my room service was $54. Baffled me why she even would do that but I was like whatever at this point and I wasn't going to argue about the $10 difference. I didn't get her name but she was working folio window 1 on 2/21/22. Her condescending tone almost had me there for a minute. In addition to that valet is $44, be prepared to pay that amount. I am now waiting for the $150 hold the resort places on your card for incidentals to be released. They did have items in the room you could purchase. Snacks, etc. the resort room itself was amazing!!! The view was amazing!!! Suite with a beach view! Everything else but that room service and the check out experience was Amazing!!!! This was a mini getaway to celebrate my husbands 47 birthday and the chocolates left with the card was super special and I appreciate the resort for doing that. Thank you so much!! read more

Very disappointed in my stay here this time. This was my second time coming here and the first was phenomenal. This past week I was here and upon check in I get to my "oceanview" room and all I saw able to see from the second floor was a roof of a cafe right out front. Plus I needed a room with a tub so I can shower the kids. I go down and request a different room and was offered one with two queens rather than one queen but I explained to them I need a kind bed since I have kids and don't want them falling off the bed. They told me there is a wait and I waiting the three hours. It was about 5 o clock once they told me the room was ready. Just imagine waiting that long with a toddler who missed his name and a newborn. We finally went up to the room just to see two queens. I was sooo flabbergasted! I called front desk and they said they don't have any kings available.. I went on the website and saw that they're was a room available with a king and a bathtub. I told the front desk a manager that and she said "well it's going to be an extra $120 a night". I told her that on the website it's actually cheaper than the room Im in now. She was speechless. Didn't want to pay the extra money so I stayed in the two queens and simply didn't sleep just to make sure my kids don't fall off the bed. Also the beds were super uncomfortable.. Valet people were super nice and quick. I was also pleased with the bell service people They're the only reason this place gets two stars rather than one. read more

This is one of Hyatt's newest hotels in Oceanside. It sits right on the waterfront across the street from the beach and pier. It also sits not far from the train tracks. The train comes by numerous times a day and blows a horn when it does so. This goes on past midnight as well. The property is so new, they are still working on it during our stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Some need more polishing than others when it comes to property knowledge. Upon arrival you are greeted with a nice welcoming scent. The details to the hotel are very noticeable with its eye catching decor. Our room was located with a partial view of the ocean. There is no escaping the train and it's sound, but if you get an ocean view, it may soften the noise. Even with our balcony door closed, you can clearly hear the loud horn of the train. Our room came with a balcony which looks directly over to their sister property, the Seabird. The room had a small mini fridge, which was apart of the mini bar. A coffee maker, steamer, iron and blow dryer are all provided in the room. Robes, which are SUPER comfy, along with slippers are also provided. And if you like them that much you can buy them. A private toilet and walk in shower. Plenty of USB ports to charge as well as a charging dock near the bed. The room was very spacious. A comfy couch, sitting chair, writing table, and bench were also apart of our room. We chose to stay here as they were running a special with a dining credit to be used at either property, Mission Pacific or Seabird. The hotel charges $42 daily for a 'destination fee', I believe is what it is called. It is for the use of the gym, beach towels, chairs and a few other things. In addition, if you park on property, they only offer valet at $44 a night. If you do ask about other parking options around the city, you'll be provided a vague answer. FYI there are other places you can find parking much cheaper, do your research. The gym on property has a squat rack, cable machines, free weights, medicine balls, kettle bells, cardio machines, towels and a refill station. I do believe they have a refill station on the floors that have an ice machine. In the rooms, the hotel provides branded water bottles that are complimentary. The hotel is near a variety of places to eat and shop, all within walking distance. The beach walkway and pier are right across the street. If you stay on property, there is a coffee shop that serves breakfast, High/Low. The rooftop bar, serves bite sized tasty treats with a beautiful view of the beach. Not everything is open currently on property so check availability. During our stay it seemed we had the Mission Pacific all to ourselves. It was very nice to experience this property in it's early days. I wish I could give a higher rating for the hotel as it is certainly not a 4 star, but it's not a 5 either. I'd give the hotel a 4.6. If you're not a light sleeper, give this place a shot, you'll be glad you did. read more

My wife and I stayed here 6/25-6/27/21, we had a great and memorable anniversary weekend at this very nice hotel. From check in to check out the staff was polite, friendly and helpful. At check in, we were told that due to covid saftey, housekeeping would not be coming by however if we needed anything they asked us to just let them know. I mention that because someone had complained about housekeeping not coming by in another review. Our room definitely had that wow factor, yes the hotel is on the pricey side but we were not disappointed at all. Our balcony had such a great view of the beach and the pier! The room was very modern, from the closets to the bathroom you will not be disappointed. A few things I'd like to know about the room, there is a garment steamer, hair dryer, Bluetooth speaker and smart tv that allows you to cast media from your smart phone. Use the beach chair and umbrella service!! You can go down to the beach and look for the hotel tent, the guys there will get you all set up and torn down. Dont forget to tip! We had Roof Top Bar reservations on Saturday at 7p, the place was packed! We got our table right away, the host was nice enough to seat us at a table with a nice view! They stole two boxes of Jewlery from me and 2 carat diamond earrings from the nightstand. I've stayed there 9 other times , but this last stay was the worst. The worst check in, billing me for dogs when I have 2 service dogs. Then stealing my jewelry and along with a service dog collar charger. While paying $1k a night for 5 nights. Just appalling. A beautiful room and hotel. We come here every year but this year was disappointing. This year we were charged $44 to park our car! Also they have done away with room service printed materials in the room. We had to use a qr code on our phones. Once we got to the menu it was limited. We ended up having to call it in after a bit of aggravation. We tried to watch Netflix/Hulu again we had to activate our phones via a qr code which was supposed to make our phones a remote. That was impossible so we weren't able to access what we wanted to watch. Last year we ordered french toast, eggs, bacon and coffee and it cost $55. This year $97! Need I say more. read more

This is my first time staying at a Hyatt affiliated hotel. And I absolutely love their rooms! So spacious compared to other hotels I've stayed at. And I loved that they have these water bottle for you to use during your trip. There's a water filling station on every floor near the elevators. The bathroom has no toiletries aside from shampoo and body wash; No shower cap, q-tips, bar soap, makeup wipes, etc. The "slippers" were thick, plastic-like flip flops, and the robes are thin. Furthermore, the heater in our room was broken the entire weekend. We were absolutely freezing overnight and slept horribly. The pool was packed with drunks, and the service at the pool and rooftop bar was horrible. We waited 40 minutes for a menu, and an additional 20 for our drinks. We ended up leaving. We traveled with our toddler and would not stay here again. Asked the front desk for some recommendations for Italian and they literally could not make one suggestion IN Oceanside. This is a better suited hotel for singles, or couples who just want to capitalize on the beachfront aspect, or party at the rooftop with a ridiculous line. Two stars for the aesthetic of the hotel overall, but they really would benefit with some decorative upgrades (ie rugs in the rooms, nicer decor in the bathrooms, etc.), but more importantly properly training their staff. read more

we decided at the last minute to get a reservation for my partner's birthday two days later and we were quoted the cost for a room and told we would have to call their reservation number and could not book at the check-in desk (what hotel doesn't allow in-person reservations at the hotel?!) but that we could likely get a better deal through their reservations number. when i called, however, the price was $80 more per night. i informed the reservation agent of my conversation with the desk agent who then backpedaled and asked if we were hyatt members, AAA members, or any qualifying organization that might qualify us for a discount. i told them i was a veteran and a senior and they offered the rate i was quoted at the front desk. strike one. the hotel is a beautiful property conveniently located on the beach in oceanside. our room had a beautiful ocean view and the hotel amenities are in keeping with a hotel of this caliber. from our room on the fifth floor, we attempted to take the stairs to the bar and pool area above our floor to find there were no stairs we could access to avoid taking the elevator, but the fire door to the north wing had a door handle that was nearly falling off. i had planned to mention it to a member of staff but it was surprising to see it at a hotel of this caliber and cost. when we went to the pool to have an afternoon cocktail and enjoy the setting sun, we were ignored by the only server in the pool area who walked by us twice without asking us if we wanted anything from the bar. there were approximately 15-20 people around the pool, but it didn't look unmanageable. i instead walked to the bar myself and obtained ($20/ea) drinks. you can always tell when a property is looking to squeeze every dime out of you with their adult beverages when they fill a narrow glass full of ice. when we left, i got the server's attention and let him know we would have appreciated being served and he replied that he did ask my partner if he would like to order. keep in mind that this was a full 20 minutes after we had sat down. strike two. while using the toilet in our bathroom, i noticed on the wall next to the toilet unknown brown spatter marks. it might be anything except fecal matter, but i'll leave it to you to decide what it could have been and how you would feel paying $630 a night (NOT including taxes and fees) to see this kind of filth in your room. it didn't help that the toilet paper was extremely thin and cheap...something you almost NEVER see in high-caliber/cost hotels and resorts. the final insults were the $45 valet, tourism and occupancy fees, and taxes added to our room that pushed the cost to a hefty $723 for one night. strike three. i would give this property a pass given the cost and poor attention to detail. read more

I first stayed at the Seabird 6 months ago which is the sister property to Mission Pacific, so unfortunately for Mission Pacific I am always going to compare my experience to the Seabird. My overall impression for my 3 night stay in their Dreamscape Suite is it seems the Seabird just does everything a little bit better than this place. On entering the room, this suite is more of a studio whereas the Seabird is a 1 bedroom suite for the same category. I also noticed the floor was rather sticky as if they haven't been mopped in a while. I just can't get past having to wipe it down myself and everything just felt dirty afterwards. We did have the weed problem when out on the balcony but that didn't bother me as much. Overall it's a solid place and the location is beautiful but if I return here, I'll be going back to its sibling property. read more
