We checked out a number of pool companies and verified references and their ratings. In the end, we chose Mission Pools. Mission Pools came well recommended and they did not disappoint! Everyone from Steve (sales rep), Jason (project supervisor), Chelsea (office manager) and their entire on-site crew were amazing! They were always professional and available to answer our questions. Their internal communication and organization was exceptional. Steve did an excellent job at explaining the entire process and answered all of our initial questions. He was very knowledgeable and helped us design our pool. Soon after, we met Jason. We could not ask for a better person to look over our project. Jason was always on site every time a new phase began. He kept us up to speed on every step and was always available to answer any questions. He made recommendations where they were needed and guided us in the best direction to stay within our budget. Chelsea is great at what she does! She helped us pick our décor, tile, pebble, and coping. Mission has so many options to choose from but she did a great job helping us put combinations together and the result was amazing! Chelsea communicated well with us throughout the process! She did a wonderful job keeping us informed and was always available when we had a question or concern. Roberts Construction handled our hardscape and they did a wonderful job! Their crew was hardworking, efficient, and completed their projects as scheduled. I highly recommend Mission Pools. I was looking for a reputable pool company with good customer service. When I found out that Mission Pools designed and built the pool for my builder's model home, I knew I wanted to do business with them. They delivered as promised in a timely and professional manner, even during Covid. Building a pool during Covid has its challenges. I didn't experience any delays. Chelsea guided me as I was overwhelmed with so many choices in materials. She was always patient with me and didn't make me feel like I was a pain. She stayed in touch with me throughout the process. I always knew she was working behind the scenes to make sure my pool's timeline was being met. Even two weeks after my pool was completed, she continued to follow up. I was most impressed with Mission's internal organization and communication. They have many checks and balances to make sure everything was going smoothly. Everyone was informed on the status of my pool. My husband spoke with Dave and Jason regularly. He was super impressed with them as well. They were extremely knowledgeable and always available. My hardscape guy, Robert's Construction was amazing. Once he started the job, workers were at my house every day until the job was done. Many of my neighbors had workers for one or two days and then they'll be gone for over a week. That's not how Robert's Construction works. They stay until the job is done! I made some minor adjustments and they weren't bothered. They wanted me to be happy. They were all professional and knowledgeable. Many of Ken's workers have worked with him for more than thirty years. That tells me a lot about how he treats his employees. In turn, they produce good quality work. When I was at my wits end looking for a reputable pool construction company in these covid times, a friend recommended Mission Pools. From the first phone call requesting an estimate, through construction to the last day when the project manager and I took selfies on the pool deck, with a Caribbean blue pool serving as a backdrop, the team at Mission Pools was professional, dependable, effective communicators, attentive to detail, responsive to concerns, collaborative, and held true to their promise of delivering a well built pool. The site was kept clean throughout the construction process with a dedicated cleaning team that hauled away debris or boxes that held pool equipment. The office staff regularly shared timetables of upcoming events, work crew that would be on site and even arrival times on occasion. The project manager was on site for every milestone and many a time was literally on his hands and knees with site crew ensuring that details were not missed. My designated coordinator and project manager were always accessible. Even after all construction work concluded, I was eased into the process of owning and maintaining the pool. I was taught over a period of time how to maintain the pool. The peace of mind I have knowing that Mission Pools will continue to be there decades from now, as they have been for their clients from decades past, is priceless. We cant say enough good things about Mission pools. We started our process right in the beginning of covid. Looking and talking to lots of pool companies. Had no idea what was going to happen. We had a deadline , about 4 1/2 months for a baby shower . Found Mission Pool ,No promises but they said if anyone can get it done with covid, material shortages etc they would. We were sold.. This was our 3rd pool from builders. Because of our past experiences, we went with the bigger , more known builder. No Money upfront, uses all their own employees to build, not sub contractors like 99% of pool companies today. They are known for more of a commercial pool builder, most professional pool company I've seen. We built a brand new home, moved into our home in January. Started our dream pool in late March. There were also 5-7 homes starting there pools at the same time on our street, with smaller, independent builders and a few bigger franchise names. Everyone was watching each other.. They guided us through the process, always available , made us really comfortable. Got our contract signed, just a note, my wife and I are not the easiest people to please, a little eccentric , say what you mean, don't over promise , like quality over price.. Once they started the dig, they were there throughout the build, almost everyday, great follow up, always returning calls, blown away with the customer service!! Well , we made our deadline by 2 weeks, and have been enjoying our pool for 30 Days. ( Most of the Pools from our neighbors that started at same time , still are not done, most all of them were promised they would be done by now) WE FEEL SO LUCKY WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE.. I am SO impressed with the experience I've had thus far with Mission Pools. I did a LOT of research and met with several vendors prior to selecting Mission to assist with our backyard design for our new home. My salesman Steve Matlin was quick to respond to all of my questions was very understanding about my needs and budget. My goals were to turn my small new backyard (blank canvas) into a space where I could rehab from my numerous knee surgeries, enjoy some outdoor living and give my two pups a space just for them. Although Mission was NOT the cheapest bid I received, ultimately, it was Steve's design (he incorporated everything I wanted and made recommendations on where we could make modifications to stick to my budget), quick response time, politeness and genuine concern with my happiness that won me over! Once we moved to contract; the hand-off to Gregg and team was seamless - I prefer to communicate via text or email (so I have a record of everything) and they were ALL quick to reply to my MANY texts and emails! Chelsea was awesome with helping me make decisions on the coping style and tile selections (I had a very specific look I wanted to achieve) and Juan (recommended concrete vendor) was great at helping me get the features I wanted (no-slip pool deck, dedicated place for the pups and plenty of hang out/planting places). During the concrete phase, Mission was offsite while Juan and crew did their thing and still Steve and Gregg would text and email with updates and to check on me to make sure I was happy! I made SEVERAL changes to the plan throughout the build phase (extended the spa size, changed the coping) and each time Steve made sure the contract reflected the changes and called out the price difference (no surprises - all i's dotted, t's crossed), Gregg confirmed the changes via text/email and Juan was looped in as well - so everyone stayed on the same page! We're just a few steps away from the final process now (tile and plaster are this week) and I am beyond EXCITED! I'll be sure to post before and after pics when the final touches are done. I have Steve Matlin as my salesman who is lazy and incompetent. Initially we signed a contract with mission pools in March of this year. I had to cancel the initial contract prior to construction because the salesman lied about the price of concrete. Steve quoted for 1200 square feet and, in reality, it was 2250 square feet, which I caught after doing simple math. The deal was at a cancel status for weeks due to the inaccuracy of the cost of concrete. We renegotiated and modified plans to make it within our budget. The concrete company just left and now they want more than double for the concrete. Oh and my "oh so knowledgeable" salesman told him we lived in Wildomar (which we don't) so he didn't even schedule us in until he goes to a specific area. Now all of the sudden his prices increase from the initial amount we were told. I'm sick of dealing with unethical people! Why the hell cant a company be honest and upfront and just earn an honest paycheck? The salesman gets his fat paycheck for nothing but being a huge inconvenience to the customer. I did a lot of research prior to choosing this company and I thought we made the right choice, but we aren't even done with the pool before the pool nightmare hit us. It's pretty sad to save for something like this just to be thrown aside and have it be our problem. My salesman's famous words, "I'm not at the office, call them and ask them". After this problem came up, I asked to speak with the general manager and Steve responded, "call the office his name is Brad Bull (turns out he's the regional manager). He was also informative (complete sarcasm for captain obvious) about how I can go and find my own concrete company. So prior to me speaking to Steve, I have four concrete companies coming out for estimates. I'm so glad he told me I could get find my own concrete company. I met Brad after the contract was renegotiated and he has a great personality and is a hard worker. I don't know how my salesman, Steve Matlin, is allowed to conduct business this way. Steve Matlin is one of the laziest I have met and that should have been my foresight. I will update this rating and post as the events unfold. I have not yet spoken to Brad regarding this old issue coming back into the limelight, but I plan to speak with him on -------------------////////////-------------------- I originally wrote the review on a Sunday and today I called and spoke with the regional manager, Brad. He is looking into the original contract, as well as, the modified contract. He was very receptive on me explaining what had happened and how I felt completely slighted and am now left with a massive headache. ----------------------///////////---------------- I had a meeting with Brad and Greg after July 4th holiday and we were able to come to an understanding. Mission pools has corrected the issues I was worried about since dealing with Steve Matlin. I advise using a salesman who is worth something and Steve Matlin wasn't it. He was great at the beginning then passes every major issue off on others and tells you, "Don't worry it's taken care of..." when in reality your stuck standing in a mess. Thank goodness the company had employees who actually care about customers otherwise we would have been another pool buying nightmare statistic. I raised the rating due to the way Brad and Greg handled the situation. I am now able to continue the pool construction. read more

Dave Draper and Jason Clayton were there for us along the entire journey from concept, to design, and finally completion. No pressure sales, patience with our constant changes along the way and reasonable pricing. We made the mistake of having a smaller contractor build our last pool, they went out of business shortly after our last pool was completed, we paid the price for the next 15 years. Mission pools went above and beyond on several occasions, often taking care of small issues that weren't their problems, working on Saturdays to make sure they met our timeframe requirements...what more can you ask for in any contractor. We are swimming now ahead of schedule and under budget! We had  them out for a quote. Took 10 mins, he never even sat down, and he said it would take two weeks to draw up a plan for a rectangular pool. Never heard from them again. We were even paying cash...but $35k was considered a "small" job. We went with another company and couldn't be happier. I guess they don't need the business. read more

I've had pools in the past and knew that I had to work with someone that would work with me. I had a vision in mind and their designer brought it to life. I also needed to work with someone that understood how important it was to keep my four Golden Retrievers safe - they went above and beyond making sure that gates where in place at all times. Another element of importance was being able to work with the foreman of the job which was a breeze and such a pleasure. Their quality and workmanship was more than I expected. Mission Pools recently completed a pool in our backyard and did a fantastic job. I dealt with Dave who was patient with us as we changed our design several times and was responsive to our many questions about the process and the specific cost associated with the various scenarios we presented to him. I never felt like he was pushing us to spend more or do the pool the way that he wanted it - instead, he encouraged us to design the pool that we wanted, whether that meant a larger or smaller ticket price. Carl was our project manager and was responsive to our questions and provided us with updates as we moved along. We had one delay due to some rain, but they warned us that rain would delay the process. So, while it was disappointing, it was also expected. Also, we had a deadline of July 4th, which they were able to hit despite the few days we were pushed back to due to rain. The review below said that Carl was grumpy, but he was pleasant with us - maybe he was trying harder b/c of the review? Either way, we were happy with Carl. Personalities aside, we are very happy with the finished product. Everyone was professional and respectful while at my property. I chose Mission Pools because they are one of the few companies that survived the economic downturn and had a great reputation among those in the pool industry. Many of the other pool companies had terrible reviews, had lost their contractor's licenses at some point or were fairly new companies and I didn't want to drop tens of thousands of dollars with a company that may not be around in a few years. What good is a lifetime warranty on the structure of the pool (which Mission Pools provides) and a three year warranty on the equipment if the pool company is out of business in a couple of years? We had a great 4th of July this year thanks to Mission Pools. If you don't use Mission Pools use a company like Mission with a track record of decades of quality pool installations. read more

David came out and spent about 10 mins max in my yard, most of that time was measuring. He asked me a few short questions and didn't bother asking in detail what I wanted as far as design. I felt like he came and assumed I had no money and it wasn't worth his time. He said it would take up to two weeks to get me a design/bid and he never called me again and its been 4 months. My 9 year old even said she felt like he was rude because he didn't seem interested in my business. Bad business move on Mission Pools because I just spent 100k with another pool installer who actually seemed grateful to meet with me and spent more than 10 mins with me. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have a ferrari in your driveway and you're wearing a tiara when you meet them. read more

We have been enjoying our pool constructed by Mission Pools and wanted to provide feedback about our experience with the company. This is the second time we have had a pool completed for our family -the last one was over 12 years ago. That experience was frustrating and filled with delays and mismanaged expectations. Needless to say, we approached the Mission Pool project with a bit of reluctance and trepidation based on our experience with another company; dispite hearing good things about Mission and teams and with our first impression of them being very positive. Our Mission Pool project and experience was wonderful! From the moment Barbara took our inquiry (what a great first impression she made!) to the professionalism and great service we received from Tamara (what a breath of fresh air she is! - listened carefully and designed to our wants and needs even better than we envisioned!) to Carl and his team (friendly, on-time, hard-working each of them - did all they could to get us swimming as soon as possible) to Chelsea and her team (she is a gem and a great asset!) ... well, we guess you get the picture, right??!! We chose Mission Pools after interviewing and getting estimates from 6 pool builders. We are just ordinary people, nothing fancy here... just wanted a pool to do laps and boy did we get one! The process was painless, the cost was extremely competitive and we now have a beautiful product. We had a very limited budget and did have lower bids ( not by much!) but decided to go with Mission because they gave us exactly what we wanted instead of substituting cheaper materials like the others to come in on budget. Chelsea and Barbara in the office are simply awesome, as well as Brad. Everything followed up on, details taken care of, I had no worries whatsoever when I communicated a question to them. This is the second pool we have had built and we wanted to make sure we picked a company that would stand behind their work. How many pool companies have been in business since 1960 and been able to withstand these severe economic times? I would recommend them without hesitation and two of my neighbors went with other builders and were sorry they did. read more

Sorry to have to give this bad review, because they started off great, but we will have to give Mission Pools a big fat ZERO! After dealing with David Brenner and giving us a written contract, which we signed, to build a pool, patio covers, fire pit and concrete work in Rancho Cucamonga, they came back after the 3 days we had to cancel and told us that THEY were cancelling because they didn't charge enough! Instead of telling us that they needed to adjust the pricing and increase the bid, they just cancelled! All the time we spent planning and measuring, meeting and discussing down the tubes! Who does business like this? When we called David and asked about doing the concrete work, and patio covers he told me off on the phone and hung up on me! Again, who does business like this?? This was NOT our fault! It was Mission Pools that wrote a bad deal, executed a bad deal and presented a bad deal! They handled this deal horribly so I feel my duty is to tell anyone interested in dealing with Mission Pools to think long and hard before dealing with them! We are happy we learned David Brenner's true colors before the job started as to make this experience worse. Maybe it is time you retired David and tended to your bees. read more

We recently did a very large backyard landscaping remodel, and the prime contractors who we hired had subcontracted the pool/spa part out to Mission Pools. Communication was awful, Carl from Mission Pools talked to me and my wife as if he didn't care what we wanted, just what was cookie-cutter and easy for him. We had asked to discuss the actual model #s and parts so we could have options (ie: spending $100 more to get the next model up for efficiency) but Carl would have nothing to do with this. We complained to the prime contractor multiple times, but nothing was done. We had also told everyone up front that we were using an Ionizer System and that we wanted to meet with Mission to show them what we had purchased to make sure they installed their parts in alignment with ours. They never did. They never gave us the option or even asked us where we'd like the control panel on the spa - until after the fact when it was too late to move. Part of the agreement was for 30 days of service, but we had installed a catch-a-kid net on it. Even though my wife and I were home EVERY day that they came by to service, they never knocked on the door once or mentioned that we had to remove the net for them to do so, which meant that 2 weeks of service went undone! Then we insisted that the prime contractor and Carl need to be present for any discussion about the pool b/c we were so tired of lost msgs, mixed messages, etc. We told Carl (and he agreed) to keep up chlorine treatments for the 30 days and then we would let it disipate. He never told this to his staff, so they just CUT off our chlorine for 7-10 days. We called Carl on a Friday asking what date the pool service person would come and he said he can't let me know until Tuesday when the scheduler is back. We asked if he could just call the svc guy and he said that it wasn't his job. Just think of old and grumpy, uncooperative, and you've got the picture. The last service was just before a lot of rain, so they left all 4 screws off of a control box for power supply to the unit, and left the lid off-center. If I didn't see it, and put those back in, we'd be in a lot of trouble! There are other things that they did wrong or poorly, but i'll stop here as I think you get the idea. I only gave them a 1 star rating b/c it's the minimum we can do on Yelp. read more

We had our pool installed by Mission Pools and they were awesome! I called around for pool quotes and they sent Sean out, who was the designer. We had a couple different quotes from different companies but we ended up liking Mission Pools the best. Sean came to our house, looked at our back yard, measured it and said he'd have a drawing to me soon and that night he had the drawing texted to me. He was able to give an estimate and had a blueprint to us within the next week. They were slightly higher than other companies, however, well worth the extra money we spent with them. Sean was amazing! He was always available by cell phone, and even on the weekends I was able to get ahold of him. Carl, who was the construction manager, was on the job sight as needed and if I needed to get ahold of him, he was always available by cell phone. We started September 30 and were filling the pool on December 5. It took about 9 1/2 weeks from start to finish. We ripped out every last inch of grass, flower beds, and concrete and started from scratch, making a whole new backyard. Our pool was done by Mission and the concrete, coping and patio cover was done by Roberts Construction, a company that Mission Pools works closely with. We continue to be in contact with Mission Pools and the office staff has been very helpful answering questions and guiding us along as first time pool owners. Sales guy came out and spent an hour talking to us, scheduled follow up appointment for the next week, cancelled it, then never came back...

We had Mission Pools build us a pool that was completed in late October 2003. Within 1 - 2 months it began to leak. After several attempts to stop the leaks the plaster cracked in five or six places. They sent out a person to do epoxy injection to fill the cracks. An engineering company took gunite and soil samples, in the process tore up our back yard. Pool decks and steps were tore out and broken which were never replaced or fixed. Mission said because of the sample findings we should press our home builder to fix the problem. Our pool was 2 1/2" out of level from one end to the other end. THAT WAS A MIS-TAKE!! 10 to 12 years later and $150,000 ( paying twice for a pool and spa, replace pool decks, patio cover and pool equipment that finally worked) Mission pool still would not stand behind their pool. Even after two judges in our legal endeavors stated Mission Pools preformed shoddy work. The skimmer was never attached to the pool. Thus causing the pool to leak and sink. Because of the time it took to get through the legal system, Mission was off the hook for fixing our pool. read more
