I came in to get some accent tile for a kitchen backsplash and was not disappointed. They had a lot of selection and were very nice and patient with me. The transaction was super simple and we can't wait to have the tiles installed. Unfortunately, they aren't open on weekends. So make sure you plan your visit in advance. Please know that with current trade issues, there may be delays with some tiles. This is happening everywhere and lead times are getting a bit long. However, Mission Tile West has a good amount of stock on hand from what I could tell. read more

There are perhaps less expensive places to buy tile than Mission Tile. You could certainly go to North Hollywood, or even Home Depot, but then you'd miss out on the fantastic customer service, selection and design help from a more "artisan" store like this one. I've been using Mission Tile for my tile needs for several years, and Chris Campos in particular. He is very knowledgable, doesn't try to up-sell, and has amazing design ideas to boot. Although they may have access to nice tiles they are inconveniently closed on weekends! In addition their organization and their suppliers organizations are bad for the environment. They do not have sufficient or adequate recycling systems that help our earth reduce greenhouse gases. And it doesn't help that their return policies are extremely limited. read more

No management accountability or follow-up. I had a terrible experience at Mission Tile. I went for expert help making a tile-match repair. When associate heard the small scale of my fix-it job -- she WALKED AWAY and started working with another customer. Wouldn't even answer a question nor make an order when I found a possible match ON MY OWN; she really couldn't be bothered. I posted about my bad experience AND I called and left a message on Mission Tile's answering machine that evening. Management was SILENT. No call back. No apology. No promise to do better in comments. NOTHING. Clearly, that saleswoman acted per their policy and direction. read more

Expensive and I could get tile cheaper elsewhere, but I like the service here. They have a very nice staff and a good selection of tiles and they are displayed well for me to get ideas. As a designer, this is a big plus. Parking can be difficult, but they have a small loading area at the back, so you can easily pick up your tiles or have your tile contractor pick them up. Expect to pay top dollar for tile here, but the great customer service makes up for it. read more

Sylvia Genova of Mission Tile "knows her stuff'. She is calm, she is professional - and she was very pleasant (patient) through the entire tile selection and order process. Sylvia helped my Mom and me select unique tile for Mom's 1930 Santa Monica Spanish new home renovation; a kitchen, 2 baths, and several outdoor patios. I am grateful we were referred to Sylvia. My Mom is "a pistol" who likes complicated combinations of design that are at once unique and notably beautiful. (simple won't do) Sylvia was a saint, and the results are stunning. When you walk into Mom's newly remodeled home you might think you were in a gorgeous hip but classic high-end Santa Barbara property. Each space is unique yet connected. Not over done - but lovely. RUDE/DISMISSIVE OF FOLKS WITH SMALL JOBS!!! I had a waterpipe break and a portion of my shower tile was destroyed fixing it. I sorely needed help finding a reasonable match for the repair. My contractor said to go to a tile store (vs. Home Depot) for the added expertise making a good match. I went to Mission Tile. Waited patiently 15 - 20 minutes for an associate to be free, which was fine. A young woman, Adrian, arrived to help me. But when she realized the SMALL nature of my job, she deposited me ALONE, at a bin of tile samples in a dark, back corner of the store (I couldn't even see the colors of the samples) and told me I might find something in the stack. Then she left to find a preferable cash-cow customer. (i.e. She ditched me.) When I did find a sample that might work, I re-approached her to ask about ordering. She didn't want to talk to me, couldn't take any time away from her new customer (who arrived AFTER ME, but with a BIGGER job.) She pushed me off on the young man cashier -- who tried but didn't know how to order, find prices or answer any other questions. He too sought out help from Adrian (who acted quite ANNOYED.) She had him tell me: "Our associates are very busy with customers today. Maybe you could come back next week?" (!) Adrian and Mission Tile were SO RUDE, SO DISMISSIVE and clearly didn't even consider me a person worthy of politeness or even a minimal amount of time or service, let alone a valued customer. I felt hurt and embarrassed and left the store in tears. read more

I have say the selection is great. The service is very good. My wife and me had to select tile for our master and kids baths. The sales person patiently helped us pick out all our material and drew the tile layout for the areas. I really wasn't expecting that. I'm really impressed by it. The prices are ok but I shopped a bit and got better pricing else were. I called back and got them to price match a couple items. I 'm happy with the end result. More importantly my wife is happy. Our kitchen is next once we recover for this part of our project. read more

I was really blown away with their great selection and unique tile when I first walked in. Then I got the pricing and it is completely ridiculous compared to other tile places. However, I looked elsewhere and unfortunately, they are the only ones that had exactly what I was looking for and I got tired of shopping around so I went with them. Luckily they gave me a discount since I'm working with a contractor that uses them quite frequently, so that made me feel a little better. UNTIL, I called to say I was going to come pick up the tile the day AFTER they told me it would be ready, and was informed that it would be 5 days late. Not only that, but I have to pick it up at the Pasadena location which is completely inconvenient since I ordered it at the Santa Monica location. And they were not apologetic about any of it, or offered any solution or compensation for my inconvenience. And this is after spending $2,000 on tile for 2 bathrooms! This is totally setting back my project and is a huge inconvenience to all parties involved. I will never recommend or use this place again. read more

Mission Tile has a great collection of products, but for trustworthy responsible human interactions, shop anywhere else: Ann Sacks Tile, Walker Zanger or even Home Expo which carries some of the same stuff but a lot cheaper. They flubbed my first order 3 times, each time sending me something that did not match the showroom sample. Giving them a second chance (was I crazy?) they shipped an order that did not match. I refused the tile, they kept the money, and profiteered off of the deal. That's not how you do business. Frankly I think it''s high time we hold businesses and the people behind them responsible. So do yourself a favor and shop anywhere else, unless you enjoy not having calls returned and substandard human interactions." read more

We walked in and saw three sales reps, all sitting at the desk, and not one looked up to say hi or offer to help. We ended up looking at tiles ourselves. They had a wide selection, but lack organization. It was a pain to browse tiles after tiles, as they were heavy to pull out and put back. They were stacked back to back, and in no way could we had flipped through like pages in a book. Eventually, it was too much trouble and we left. read more
