This hospital used to be the best place to go for medical care but has fallen hard and fast over…read morethe last 5 years. My mother has had 2 separate times of her going to the emergency department, usually late at night, and been sent to sit in the waiting room for HOURS. Once, we thought that she had a massive leaking infection in a recent surgical site (thank God that was not the case!) and she waited for 4 hours before we realized our mistake and she decided to just come home. Tonight, she needed help with an extremely painful leaking cyst on the back of her thigh. She wad made to sit on that extremely painful cyst (being flat out denied a place to at least lay down as she cried in the waiting room) for FIVE HOURS. Meanwhile, every cough and sneeze that walked in was given a bed before her. I don't know what happened to patient care at this "hospital" but clearly it has died in a corner somewhere....I recommend checking the waiting area.

That is a dangerous situation considering they are dealing with people with medical problems. I tried talking to her and had answers for her concerns but she just kept talking over me and would not listed. So I would recommend Phelps Hospital but definitely not Phelps Home Healthcare unless they get a new manager with management skills.

I had a accident earlier this year, they took me to trauma center Mercy. I hurt my wrists and staples in my head. I told them my wrists hurt. Said nothing was wrong. When my Rheumatologist took a scan of my wrist. Immediately sent me to my Orthopedic doctor i had a Ulnar fracture.

I searched on-line at St. Lukes Hospital website and found a doctor who was taking new patients; getting an appointment for the first week of July. I duly showed up that day and upon entry to sign in and confirm I had arrived; I went to the counter to speak with the receptionist. My attention was quickly drawn to a series of grooves in the counter, presumably a design feature. My attention was drawn there because of the massive amount of grime in the grooves. IT WAS OBVIOUS the counter hadn't been cleaner in WEEKS, if not MONTHS. I took a picture; feel free to download it and throw up. My new primary care doctor (Kyle BRANSON) was pretty good, and I have no complaints with his care; such as it was. Needless to say, my visit included an order to visit a Quest Diagnostics lab for bloodwork; which I immediately arranged, and did attend, on the following Monday. So far so good. Unfortunately, due to issues with Quest's system, I was unable to obtain my blood work results. No biggie, I thought, I'll contact the hospital. Before I got a chance to do so, I received a letter that day, telling me Dr. BRANSON was leaving St. Lukes hospital. QUITE WHY I COULDN'T BE TOLD THIS AT THE TIME I MADE MY APPOINTMENT TO SEE HIM IS TOTALLY BEYOND ME - WHY WASTE MY TIME SETTING UP A NEW PRIMARY IF HE'S LEAVING ANYWAY!!! Anyway, I contacted St. Lukes again to inquire about my blood work to be told that they do in fact have the results, and they would leave a message with the physician; and to expect a call within the next twenty-four to 48 hours. It has now been six days and surprise, surprise, NOTHING. Methinks, it is time for me to seek greener pastures when it comes to my care; St. Lukes cannot be relied upon to provide appropriate care and services!!!!

I tried first Mercy Urgent care and was told by them that I need to go to Emergency room at Parkland in Farmington nurse. In Emergency room until 5:pm. Cat scan took 5 minutes no longer. I did not get released until 6:45 pm. I had to use restroom and after that no one came back to hook me back to machines that were giving me medicine and taking vitals. I found a very busy nurse who kindly did that for me. Now the real wait was for the NP to come in and give me results. So I asked when that would be. Soon. About 15 minutes later he came in and gave me my results. He said nurses would be back in to take all the IVs out of me. Another 20 minutes, they never made it back in so I took my IV out myself. So I went out to the nurses and they were out there talking to each other and I said Just want you to know I'm ready to leave now and this nurse, blond, about 25 to 30 began to lecture me that I need to be patient when I come to a hospital. My response was I have been here since 12:15 and I added no that's not it. You need to be efficient. And then she tried to shame me saying people are dying here. I refrained from saying. No wonder they are dying. Again, I guess she didn't hear me say that I took all the tubes off myself and I did not add that when I approached their station, she was laughing and talking to the nurse next to her.again, she was furious and how I needed to be patient. I could not drink any water before my contrast scan. My arthritis was bothering from sitting in their ER for 4 hours and 45 minutes. I was thirsty, hungry and she took it to the next level by again trying to shame me because other people are dying here, implying I was selfish. I have contacted Patient Advocate at Parkland Hospital. If I have to take it to the next level, Missouri Nursing Board, I will. This was my second time experiencing this level of nursing there. Now I can't find how to post this review. I keep hitting Post Review and it's not working.
