It was Veteran's Day, and since I was off work, the plan was to get some breakfast with friends in the Woonsocket area. Missy's came up as being affordable, with good reviews and pictures, and it was open. You cannot miss the building since it is a bright highlight blue color. There is a well-sized parking lot. When we arrived, there were a couple of people there, but we were still seated at the booth by the window that we were eyeing. Our waitress gave us some menus, and immediately, I was drawn to the plate with home fries, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and French toast (or pancakes). It was only about $11 and brings a little bit of everything. After about 10-15 minutes, our food was brought out. I was a bit underwhelmed by the French toast. It looked like regular toast, so I thought they maybe misunderstood that I wanted grilled English muffin for my bread. But turns out, their French toast does not have as much batter as l am used to. I do like that it is sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, but it is a but dry - the syrup makes it better. I requested my eggs scrambled and with cheese and the cheese was perfectly melted. The bacon was crispy, with the right thickness. I had read that their sausages are good, and indeed they are - juicy, a tad spicy, and flavorful. The English muffin was crispy and buttery. The potatoes were soft and tasty. The back of the paper placemats have puzzles and activities, which we only realized before leaving. The inside made us feel like we were at someone's home, so it made us feel more comfortable. read more

After being totally ignored at a different eatery, we walked out, looked at Yelp for a suggestion, and saw Missy's. We were seated by the cutest young girl and our waitress was great! The coffee and tea were hot and delicious (sometimes tea isn't as at hot as my hubby likes it). The biscuits and gravy were excellent and my veggie omelet was fluffy with plenty of fresh veggies. I asked for gluten free bread and to my surprise they had it. It came out GRILLED, people. Never has a restaurant done that - it was so delicious. The crepes here are FANTASTIC! The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the very pleasant servers always keep an eye on you. They have both counter ( with TV ) and table service. Coffee is good and hot! No problems parking in the lot for breakfast. read more

I don't know if the comments are fake or I just came on a bad day because this was one of the worst breakfast experiences I've ever had. Service was incredibly slow and food is way overpriced even with inflation. Ordered the chorizo burrito that was $15 and had LITERALLY 2 diced pieces of chorizo in it, basically giving me a $15 scrambled egg wrap. Everything was very bland also. Such a let down. read more

First time trying this place and I think I've been missing out!! Welcomed with a friendly hello and directed to sit where ever we wished. There's a counter bar area on the right and quite a large, airy, nicely decorated dining room on the left. Lots of tables and definitely the ability to join tables together for larger groups. Waitress was very attentive and polite. Coffee was hot and fresh! They have a nice menu with some nice omelet options and best of all.... I'm British and they have legit bangers here! (English sausages!) I had the Greek omelet and I was given the choice of 2 or 3 eggs- which I thought was nice, and to be honest it was so filling I should have opted for the 2 egg option! Lots of spinach, kalamata olives and very generous with the feta cheese! Some tomato would've been nice but nonetheless absolutely delicious! Well we decided to do breakfast today and give the place a try. Well walking in of the street, you know why it's called a family restaurant. the place felt like a home. Extremely friendly atmosphere, very clean throughout, awesome employees and food like you wished your mother would make. The food was excellent, large serving, waitress was amazing. She was prompt, warm and friendly and very accommodating. I am SO glad to try Missy's and have found a home for breakfast. We haven't tried the lunch or diner cuisine yet but look forward to trying it out. Been going there for a few months and sometimes it's good and other times it's bad. My last meal was not good and I told the girl and showed her the Sausage Patty was like rubber and the coffee wasn't good either so I checked out ,and she didn't even take something off the bill so that was it for me there.. I am a huge breakfast fan, so one day I noticed this new local breakfast spot on Yelp. Although it was challenging to find since the street address is a bit wonky (the waitress informed me that they're trying to change the address with the city), the breakfast place was nestled in a cozy little house with plenty of parking. Upon coming in, you're kindly greeted. I felt like the waitress was extremely attentive, fast and friendly. She made sure she checked up on me just enough and that my coffee was always filled. The prices were very reasonable and the food was yummy. The interior was simple but cozy. There was plenty of seating and I enjoyed sitting by the large window with a warm cup of coffee in hand. The hashbrowns were a little soft but still tasted good (I normally like them a little crispy) but the eggs were made perfectly, as was the toast. When I was leaving, they made it a point to ask me if I'd like their printed out menu and a (free) koozie. Love me some swag! You could tell it was a family-run business and that they really care and have a lot of love for the place. I look forward to returning very soon. read more

I heard about Missy's from colleagues at a meeting (I hadn't even realized a new business had opened in an old restaurant). We decided to head to Missy's on a Friday night for some fish and chips - what a great choice! For starters, I had a garden salad and hubs had the white clam chowder. The salad was fresh and crisp, the chowder was deliciously prepared with just the right amount of seasoning. Both were definitely fresh prepared. We both got the fish and chips. Fresh, meaty cod in a light and crispy batter. It was just right! I am not a fan of the really breaded fish that is found in the most famous fish spot in Woonsocket, so was extremely pleased! The fries were of the julienne style and cooked to perfection. Especially tasty with the malt vinegar! The hubs really enjoyed his fish & chips too! We will return for certain. My husband and I usually go to another breakfast spot in Woonsocket but we decided to switch it up a bit and try somewhere new, especially with all the rave reviews Missy's has. Huge mistake. The restaurant wasn't even that busy and we easily waited almost an hour for a burrito and a hungry one. The burrito was a severe let down, soggy and bland. I would have been better off getting the $2 burrito from McDonald's. My husbands "hungry one" came out cold. The $10 corned beef hash was so horrible even our dog wouldn't eat it when we brought home leftovers. All that for a whopping $51.00 bill!!!! I thought I was seeing things but sadly I hadn't. First time here for a quick weekend breakfast - not a huge chain, so there was a small crowd. This does make it nice so that you don't have to wait long for your food or have to sit in a loud crowd. The ambiance is similar to a little rustic "homey" feel. The staff is kind and quick to seat you and get you what ever you'd like to order, they also made sure to check on us after we'd gotten our food in case we needed anything. The one grip that I'd have with this place would be the overly greasy home fries. I know every place has their signature way of making them; and maybe the chef was having an off day - but my home fries were swimming in a greasy pool. The eggs however were made well and the bacon I'd give an average rating. The food wasn't bad, wasn't out of this world - I think with a few tweaks it could definitely boost the quality of the food.
