Wow what a difference they made! My bathroom Saltillo tile was in need of a major face lift. It was extra dull and dingy after I had workers paint the vanity and somehow spilled drops of paint in several places. Whatever they used to clean the paint made large dull spots in the tile. After having these guys give her a facelift, she is shiny and new. I don't think she's ever looked this good in the 19 years I've lived here! I had questions about refinishing my marble countertop (polished vs. honed) and David provided advantages/disadvantages, and quickly provided fair quotes for both alternatives. Communication remained excellent and work-day arrival was prompt. David cut about 7% off his quoted price upon inspecting the area. Tarping was meticulous, as was clean-up following the work; David even removed construction debris from behind the stove that was left from the prior remodel, purely to be courteous. David remained present for nearly the entirety of the job, leaving only briefly to get lunch for his team. The counters look excellent and I have not seen any significant flaws in the refinishing. Run, don't walk from this contractor. He has some good reviews, but here's what you need to know about DStone when things go wrong. I hired DStone (David) to restore/replace our pool flagstone and clean the surrounding color concrete decking amongst other miscellaneous items. I warn you of the following: 1) he does not back-up his work. When his stone installer made some costly errors, he made me pay labor and materials to fix it. When they damaged our concrete decking (see photos) he refused to take responsibility. First claimed this was original condition, then offered to pay to fix it, then disappeared. His insurance company agreed there was a claim but his deductible was so high, he would not file the claim - so if you hire them, check their deductible level. Otherwise the insurance certificate is worthless. 2) worthless warranty - i contacted him about the pool steps separating and he would not respond. 3) Restore vs replace? Even though he thought he would replace 50% of our flagstone, ultimately decided to replace all of it, using up the stone necessary to complete our spa, causing me to buy more. Enough said, he's not worth the trouble. I'm not litigious so I've not opted to go spend good money after bad... and DStone is definitely bad news!! read more

David and his brother Brian did an excellent job at bringing back the shine to our marble master bath (floors, walls and counter) and our quartz counters too. He was a recommendation from our neighbor and I'm glad to have been given his contact information. Everything in our house was installed about a year and half ago and it was looking dull and dirty, especially the grout lines. There were also calcium water stains around the faucets and handles. Apparently we had people using the wrong cleaning products, only further adding to the loss of shine and integrity of the seal on the marble. David was prompt, communicative and professional. Him and his brother were thoughtful about prepping the space and also took care of cleaning the surrounding space post cleaning (the process they use is messy, but they protected everything well). Both are lovely guys with a trustworthy, honest demeanor. I'm very happy with the final outcome. Each time I come back into my master bath of mostly marble, I love seeing all of the shine back. I am so pleased with the work David and Delmer did restoring the stone in my home. The marble entry hall looks better than I remember it when it was brand new! Granite countertops are gleaming. But the biggest challenge was my very large tumbled marble shower and tub surround which had been improperly sealed by a handyman years ago and was beginning to crumble. They not only removed the flaking sealer the handyman had applied, they filled the holes, restored the color and sealed it properly. All of this while working within my budget. Thank you - beautiful job! I neglected to care for my soapstone kitchen counter for three years. D Stone Restoration provides top notch service on any and all jobs they perform. Unfortunately, a pipe burst at my home and much of it had to be taken down to the wood studs for mitigation of the water damage. Towards the end of the reconstruction process, David and his amazing team repaired and restored my kitchen floor, recreating, repairing, and rejuvenating the tile-work there to a stunning lustrous finish. In addition to the reconstruction work on the kitchen floor damaged by the burst pipe, D Stone Restoration acid-washed the stained tile work in my upstairs main bathroom and restored outdoor tile and stone work to better than new. They also built some original stonework on part of the back patio. And, that is not all. Unfortunately, the reconstruction contractor elected not to cover much of my home during the reconstruction process. Every nook and cranny of the house was covered in plaster dust (including my refrigerator--ugh!). David's team came in and saved the day. They did a super-deep post-construction cleaning and I was able to move back into a home that was not only lovely but "spic and span" as well. In short, David and his team helped with so many aspects of finalizing reconstruction and getting me back into my home that I can't cover them all in a Yelp review. David is a perfectionist and spends time on site to make sure everything is done to his "white glove" standards. All his team's work was gold-star-worthy. I would like to thank David for an incredible job of restoring a terra cotta kitchen floor to a new beautiful look. This floor was very heavily used by our church and had cracked badly and become very dull. For a very reasonable price, David searched the vast corners of LA County to find matching tiles since we didn't have the originals. He and his team demoed the broken and loose areas and installed new tiles. He then cleaned, glazed and sealed the entire floor so it looked showroom new!! He was good enough to come back after we had a stupid accident with some degreaser to repair our mistake. He also repaired a broken granite countertop around the kitchen sink and sealed all the counters so they look brand new. I can't say enough about David and his team. From first contact throughout the job, communication was perfect. We have lot of Saltillo tile flooring with light grout throughout the majority of our home. The grout lines we very dingy, the tiles lost their luster and especially bad in high-trafficked areas. I discussed w/ David and he walked me through their process, which included hand cleaning all grout lines and tiles, then resealing with multiple coats. Hand cleaning is key, as using a machine can permanently damage the tiles. After taking through all with David, we also decided to clean and reseal out custom tiled kitchen counter and island. David and his crew arrived on time, further explained the process and timing and got to work prepping all areas. They were kind, professional and ended up finishing a day early! They did an awesome job -- I am blown away with the results. Our 26 year old floors never looked better. Our kitchen island and counter came out perfect. I am so happy with this company and with David's service I could cry. We had just put in a brand new patio of bluestone, concrete and granite countertop for our BBQ and they got horribly stained because our contractor decided not to seal ANY of his work. And we got awful tree stains. After FIVE consultations, In comes David, such a kind and great person by the way, and he works SO hard to remove the awful stains that I thought we were stuck with forever. David is the best! 4 years ago, I moved into a condo that has stone on all the bathroom floors, walls, and showers. And apparently none of the stone was sealed! As a result, water and calcium build up had started to stain and, in some cases, eat away at my marble, limestone, and granite. The caulking around many of my sinks and showers had also started to breakdown, and water was seeping into the stone. David & Brian came in and did a super detailed job of cleaning, sanding, and sealing every stone surface of my place. They removed any deteriorated caulking and re-caulked everything. And I now have a totally water proof bathrooms! :) I loved their work so much, I actually referred him to my sister who had some similar problems in her place. I met David at a very upscale site and was so happy that he agreed to accept our relatively small project. Our driveway was a faded cement until he and Brian stripped it and brought it back to its original color.
