THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY!!!! MAJOR SCAM! STAY AWAY!!!! We were told we would have a technician come out for $149 to take down our ceiling fan and replace it with a metal chandelier. When the technican came late he didn't even have a ladder. He said the $149 fee was just to get their estimate. Their estimate for $149????? They gave three RIDICULOUS options. Option One: $3537.00 Option Two: $1881.00 Option Three: $1435.00 ARE YOU KIDDING ME? TO HANG A CHANDELIER? See attachment for paperwork given by technician... Obviously we didn't pay and told the guy to get out. What a scam!!!! When I called to get a refund I was jerked around and sent from one person to another. One month later and they keep talking in circles and just say they're sorry if i don't like their prices. Ha! Who would? I feel so foolish to have not read reviews before calling this company. I jsut found one sounding very similar to ours, except we recieved two additional crazy options that they even changed their paperwork and said I was only given on option - the cheapest one. When I sent my original paperwork with their options and one of their employees response to it, I then received another run around. Stay away! because this is company shouldn't exist! I had a breaker issue and they scheduled me two days out and charged my card $69. I was able to resolve issue same day and cancelled appointment two days out and they will not refund me. It is a "dispatch" fee but no one will be dispatched. Friendly people answering the phone but not very good customer service. Will definitely not get my future business. Alicia M. read more

Called Mr Sparky to have a new remote receiver installed on my ceiling fan. I was supplying the new receiver. Mr Sparky would not give an estimate over the phone. I was informed I would have to pay the non-refundable service call fee and the electrician would provide the quote once on-site. I reluctantly agreed and paid the service call fee, upfront, to schedule the service call. Once the electrician arrived, he was very nice and polite. However, his quote was $815 to replace a fan remote receiver that I was supplying. It would have been a 30 minute job at the most for any competent electrician. Needless to say, I sent him on his way and lost the non-refundable service fee. This is an unethical company and a racket. All I can say is "BEWARE". Update: This is not about my budget or what I can afford as the business owner references in his reply! It is about being fair and equitable. Charging a $69 non-refundable service call fee to come out and then providing a totally unrealistic quote is unethical. The job needed has now been completed by a different electrical company and licensed electrician. It ended up approximately 1/4 of Mr Sparky's quote. Just BEWARE and do your homework! It is definitely a red flag when they want a non-refundable $69 upfront and will not provide any direction on the potential cost of the job. read more

We were told to expect someone to come by between 8am and 8pm, and no one came. We called all day they kept saying they would contact an installer, yet no one would take the call. When we called and requested free service as they claim they do if no one shows up in your "appointment" time, and they made an excuse saying "the call was never dispatched" therefore getting around a free service. If I was able to give zero stars I would. I would not reccomend this company to anyone, I'd recommend you learn how to do it yourself before you call this company. It may be cheaper anyway. read more

Had my smoke detector system replaced by one of Mister Sparky's skilled electricians on 12/12-13/ 2022 at a cost of 632.00. They had to return on 12/20/2022 due to the failure of the brand new system to work properly. I was assured that problem was resolved. Well It isn't , I called this afternoon 12/26/2022 to report that the problem persists. I was advised that it would cost me an additional 300.00 for a technician to come out to check the brand new system that is under warranty that has been in my home less than a month.. specifically two and one half weeks, I refused ...then Mr. Sparky suggests that I pay 69.00 ... No! Mr, Sparky advertisement clearly represents that their electricians are Skilled.... The system has not worked a full week after its original install date of 12/12-13/2022. Yet I was expected to pay additional fees to the same skilled electricians to return and attempt to resolve the on going issue.... Clearly this is not going to end well.....I am now on STAND BY STATUS for an electrician to return to my home on 12/27/2022. Now they are suggesting that additional fees may be charged! Why would I have the confidence that Mr. Sparky can resolve the issue? The intent is to keep collecting fees! Really Mr. Sparky , to suggest that l pay an additional 300.00 and/69.00 for service rendered two and one half weeks ago is insane. read more

I called Mr. Sparky this afternoon to ask what it might be to change out an outdoor GFI plug and a light switch by my pool. The person on the phone told me that they charged a $59 service fee and would then give me a price once they were on site. I said OK can you not give me a roundabout number to change out a plug and the light switch and they refused twice. I told them I didn't find them very helpful and hung up. A few minutes later I received a call from their local dispatcher who reiterated what their call service said that they do not give any quotes over the phone. I said can you not give me a simple estimate of what it could be, not what it actually will be. They said no. I did not find this to be a no malarkey call from Mr. Sparky. read more

I called for a quote to replace a flood light and to individually ground my circuit breaker box. They had to schedule a visit in order to give me a quote. When they arrived, they gave me an extremely high quote for both tasks. Very disappointed. read more

On 7/16/22 I called Mr Sparky to set up an appointment. I was told by call center that it would be 109.00. I saw this price when I googled electricians near me and agreed to the price and was told the tech would arrive at 10 am he called me at 11:45 And said I had to pay him 309.00 before he could even come to my house. I paid but was not happy and told him that was not what I was told or saw on line. When he arrived he told me he had called his boss and told him he could take the extra 200.00 I had paid off the bill. He then went to the breaker and checked the breakers then he checked the meter and one leg was not pulling in 120 it was only pulling 60. He told me Union power would have to come out. At the end of all this he then told me he was taking the 200.00 off the diagnostic charge. This time I was angry. This company charged me 524.00 just to come to my house and tell me the power Co would fix it. This is price gouging and I think it's against the law. I learned a long time ago that if a company does something extra good for you that you might tell 5 to ten people but if they do something extra bad to you tell a about 100 people. I'm working on my first 50 now. The only good thing I can say about this co is that Noah was very nice and friendly. I think Mr Sparky should Change their name to Mr Malarky. read more

I called Mister Sparky yesterday to schedule a same day appointment for a circuit breaker problem. Brandon and Gnoc (I hope I spelled that right) arrived around 5pm and stayed until nearly 11pm to make sure the job was done right. Although an unexpected repair is never a good thing, they were both professional, courteous and explained everything they did which made the experience less painful. I can't speak highly enough of the quality of work they did (I watched nearly the whole time) and will definitely be calling Mister Sparky for any future issues. read more

Call the next day to ask me if I want the work done I say yes. They than charge $299 for whatever I can milk for you fee. There pricing is HOW MUCH CAN I OVER CHARGE? Don't call these guys unless you enjoy bait and switch tactics and moving appts for their convenience. I found a nice ethical electrician to do the work. read more
