They snaked the line up into the wall instead of cutting any large holes or piping the wiring externally. Afterwards, Tony patched up the small holes in the wall so I didn't have to call another contractor. Overall, Tony was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and cleaned up after himself. I was out of town for a few days and recognized when I got home that some of my lights and outlets were not working not knowing that a cable company had been digging for new lines in the neighbor hood and had cut the line. Of course I didn't realize at the time but I did mention this to Tony and he suggested I call Duke power and report it which is what I did. Duke said the cable company had in fact cut the line. Sometimes your washing machine breaks. And when that happens, it basically screws whatever plans you had for at least the next few days. Especially when your house is so old that the cold water hose was basically rusted to your faucet and you were scared to keep screwing around with it because you didn't want to break the whole thing. Insert Five Star Electrical and Plumbing! They were quick to respond, they came with all the tools they needed the first time and they were able to get the hose off, so we could get the new one installed. Bonus? I was somewhat disappointed by the service I recently received from this company. An appointed time was established and after 30-45 minutes of delay I called for an update. Tony the electrician claimed he was waiting for rush hour traffic to die down. That was fine, but a call to inform me would have allowed for efficient use of my precious time; I had errands that needed attention. When he did finally arrive, he pointed out the source of my issue then informed me that his "resolution" involving the simple disconnection of wires from my "curcuit breaker" box was not covered, and charged me $80. A later discussion with Home Serv disclosed that his diagnoses should have been "called in" and a discussion of what is covered and not covered would have been disclosed THEN, giving me a choice as to whether or not I wished to proceed. THAT didn't happen. He then gave me a swan song of how he could do this that and a third to make my situation better. By then I was convinced that this guy was a "hustler" with little to no integrity and I had no interest of ever doing business with him or his company again. read more

I had another issue and he did figure out what was wrong but was trying to sell me another solar system. These guys are great! They called to see if they could come early. I wanted a light installed that was supposed to have been wired when the house was built and only waiting on a fixture. Once it was late afternoon, we followed up by text and calling and got no reply all day long. We waited all day/evening assuming he was still coming and also called the main line and they also couldn't get in touch with him. I hired Tony to complete three separate plumbing, electric, and carpentry projects at my residence. After he completed the first project, Tony asked for more money than he originally quoted. I complied with his request. Next, Tony completed the second project and again asked for more money than he originally quoted. Again, I complied with his request. Throughout both projects, Tony would occasionally fail to arrive at my residence in order to complete the work as promised. Prior to the third project, Tony reviewed the quote he provided me and stated the amount is incorrect. I responded by stating the amount is the exact number he quoted me as I simply printed out the message he sent me via email. To prove this, I simply pointed to his email address on the printed document. He then returned a few days later and completed only a portion of the work in a temperamental manner, never to return with my deposit. I contacted him on numerous occasions (via text message, phone, and email) in order to determine when he will be completing the remainder of the work and never received a response. Need more proof? These guys are great. I manage a restaurant near downtown Charlotte... We discovered that our music system wasn't working and something was sparking when the breakers were turned on and off... I called these guys and they came out quickly, had the job done within an hour, and fit themselves into a rather tight spot in our restaurant to do so. Allow me to also mention that I was on crutches and they were super sweet about moving things around for me so I could see and understand what they were doing, and were patient with me. They even offered to find a replacement for a broken amplifier I had and install it at no charge at a later date even if I found my own equipment. I personally spoke to Gregory, he was a huge help. Tony and crew were lifesavers. They came right out after I called for a septic pump issue and stopped the leak. While they were there, I showed them some electrical problems I was having. They came back the next day and fixed it all for a set amount that we had agreed upon the night before. The next day I had a different problem in a rental house we have for sale with the hot water heater. If there was a way to give no stars that would be my selection. I called on a Monday to make an appointment for 9:30am Friday morning. Wednesday received a phone call to change to 1:30pm on Friday. Still no issue. Friday comes and I get a call at 12:45pm that they can't come. I asked the issue and they said technician did not come in today. I asked why I am just getting a phone call if he didn't come in this morning. No explanation, no apology for the inconvenience. I took a day off of work for nothing. Bad customer service.
