Lively restaurant. Great rotisserie chicken. Seated right away. Attentive staff. Ordered Combo 3, cos who doesn't want leftovers. Whole chicken, salad, sweet plantains, beans, fried rice, sausage and fries.

First time visiting and I was not disappointed. We started with the anticucho con Papa a La Huancaina and it was phenomenal. The meat was still sizzling as we got to the table and the potato's were very creamy! I then had sopa de gallina and it sooo delicious and flavorful, definitely recommend during a rainy day. We order the whole chicken combo #3 that came with salad, maduros (yellow plantains), salchipapa, beans and fried rice. The food was amazing. The service was also great, very staff very attentive. Love the location very cozy. Definitely a family friendly restaurant

The food here is absolutely incredible. Value wise our entire meal which consisted of a whole chicken, rice, beans, salad, salchipapas, and tostones was under $35 Service was amazing and they take good care of you. The waitress is super warm and welcoming and really helps you make good selections. Restaurant is clean and they have a selfie wall which is cute. Bathroom is spotless and they have a decent amount of tables. I will absolutely be back for more.

Decor has recently been updated with a cute Selfie wall. Prior to that the restaurant always looked clean and well taken care of and still remains that way. From outside it's hard to guess it looks so nice inside. We've been coming here for a while especially for the lunch specials. Food is consistently good. Tender juicy Peruvian Chicken. Good portion sizes. The fried rice and sweet plantains - so good. My son loves the beans. We've had large orders of food for pickup and never once was an order incorrect. The staff is very friendly and welcoming each time. Like aunties making sure every is satisfactory and water glasses stay filled. Clean bathroom and music is festive. Often we see local Peruvians dining and it's always like a bonding experience, they are so generous with sharing their culture. Warm welcoming feelings all around. You can tell it's a home away from home kind of place. Definitely visit this location. I only recently became aware that it's part of a chain. Never been to any of the other locations. As for this one, the parking is minimal- 2 to 3 spaces if you're lucky. Street parking on side streets not in front since it's a busy blvd. Alternatively the Q41 bus stops right in front and Q7 on the side. Oh and get all the sauces with your food ,they are amazing.

Amazing food / staff / and space for my 14 plus family. Loved it

We tried because of the Michelin guide recommendation. Ceviche with 2 plantain chips for $29, who are kidding? walked in and there was no host to attend us, we waited for a bit, I had to walk up to the kitchen and they said to take a seat of preference. We chose the bar, they said the bar setting table was not stable so we had to sit down inside the restaurant while it will still sunny out (it's summer in NYC, so obviously lightning is key). Then, we ordered the chicken combo of 1/2 with rice & beans which is only to-go service and they didn't have but their menu listed. The ceviche took about an hour to arrive which is the only appetizer and 2 beers we ordered, while the restaurant wasn't even full & then we landed up ordering 1more beer while still awaiting the ceviche. Then came the check- they said their system was down so no cards & only Zelle or Venmo- which we Zelle them the $ and then the owner went to verify in the back if they received after she took my phone to double check the amount. I'm sorry but not sorry, we have travelled 60 countries together for 12+ years and this is not the experience we expected from Bib Gourmand / Michelin FALSE Guide! I hope you can take notes from this comment and make improvements to thrive because this is NYC & the options are infinite!

We stopped in for an early Saturday dinner and were surprised to find the place completely empty…read more It felt like a hidden gem, especially given its years of Michelin recommendations. We shared the ceviche mixto, arroz con mariscos, and a dulce de leche dessert with tulle and cookies. The appetizer and entrée were excellent; the ceviche mixto was incredibly fresh, and the seafood in the arroz was perfectly cooked, with rice that was well-seasoned and flavorful. Unfortunately, the ice cream in the dessert was grainy, as if it had been sitting too long. This could have easily been a five-star experience. I wouldn't have held the dessert against them, but the service fell short. When we arrived, the server was on her phone and minimally attentive. Communication was a bit difficult, especially when asking about desserts which weren't on the menu. We had moved a candle from another table because it was so dark, and although she noticed, she didn't offer assistance. After dropping off our food, she didn't check on us at all and remained up front on her phone. She did inform us ahead of time that the credit card machine wasn't working, so payment would need to be cash or Zelle, which was fine. However, when we paid in cash, she didn't return with change, we had to ask for it, and she then disappeared to the back to retrieve it. The whole process was awkward. That said, the entrée was so good that I'd consider coming back to try more dishes...hopefully with better service next time.

Highly recommended . From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was spot on. Our server Luis was very professional , He recommended the most iconic Peruvian dishes to us, as well as the Pisco Sour and some signature cocktails. What a hidden gem! It feels like dining in a friend's home if your friend happens to be an amazing chef". The Lomo saltado was a flavor explosion, and the ribeye was cooked to perfection". The food was AMAZING the first time around, so I was really hoping they would deliver again. And when it came to the food--they absolutely did! We ordered ceviche, tostones with guacamole, drinks, and our entrées. Everything was coming out and we were enjoying ourselves. I went to the restroom--which, by the way, was very clean--and when I returned to the table, I happ5ened to look up in the corner. That's when I noticed the restaurant had a PENDING letter grade. Now I'm concerned. I asked our server if she could find out from the manager why the grade was pending. She came back and told us it was because of a leak, but they couldn't remember the inspection score. That answer didn't completely sit well with me, so you know what happened next... I started digging. The last time I visited, they had an A, so seeing "Grade Pending" definitely caught my attention. When I looked into the restaurant's inspection history, I couldn't find the specific reason for the current pending grade, but I did see that an earlier inspection in May 2025 resulted in a B. I understand that even a restaurant with an A can have violations or issues, and a pending grade doesn't automatically tell you what the problem is. But when I'm eating somewhere, I definitely want to know what's going on. Our server was super sweet and reassuring, and the restaurant had plenty of customers dining there. The restroom was also extremely clean, so I'm hoping that same level of cleanliness carries into the kitchen. And trust me--I'll be driving by next week to see what letter is in that window! I'm rooting for an A! Now let's get back to that FOOD because they deserve their credit. The flavors were so good. My steak came out medium-rare exactly the way I ordered it, the asparagus was delicious, and that GUACAMOLE?! EVERYTHING! The food here really is excellent. The servers have been welcoming, attentive and sweet during both of my visits, and I was especially happy that I was able to enjoy my meal without having an allergic reaction. That's why I really need Kantu to keep it together! The food is too good, the service is too welcoming, and I'd love to see more people in the area experience their excellent Peruvian cuisine. MIXED BAG THIS VERDICT: MIXED FOOD: KISSES! Flavor: Service: Cleanliness I personally observed: Pending Grade: I'm watching... The food gets my kiss of approval , but that pending grade keeps this review firmly in the MIXED category for now. Kantu, I'm rooting for you. Now let's get that A back in the window!
